Just asking for some healing energy for my 10 year old son that will be having his adnoids and his tonsils removed in the morning..I wish him a speedy recovery..

I know that he will be ok, I just hate that he may have to endure some pain, we hate for our kids to feel pain..

I had my adenoids out when I was his age. If he's anything like me, he'll love living on ice cream and popsicles afterwards.

AWWW, JustMia, my son had this done when he was ten. I stayed in bed with him the whole time of his recovery so he wouldn't have to yell if he needed something. He was so sweet in the recovery room, the nurse said he just kept asking for his Mom. And even though he was at the age where he was trying to be a "big boy" he had his trusty stuffed pig with him the whole time.
Your son will be A-okay, and you'll be glad for it afterwards because he will get less infections.
My sons school attendance went from horrible to only missing one day the year after surgery!

My mum just had surgery on her foot. When my mother was being "outfitted" we talked about how kids now days have it easy with tonsil removal... they can have their throat numbed so they can eat afterward. "Back in my day," the nurse said, "you couldn't eat a thing! I had my tonsils out during thanksgiving, too! But I didn't care... I chewed that piece of turkey until nothing was left."

Thanks guys this helps..Gypse, I will be in the bed with my son as well I am sure. I will be off the entire time he needs to recover and my job is ok with that..I will be eating ice cream as well..I can use the time off as well..

Hey everyone just wanted to say thanks for the well wishes my son is doing good. i cried when they rolled away with him for surgery. but everything is good. i will be happy when he gets his appetite back. his throat is really sore.
