------ OMG - new shock - see third post down! -----

Hi there,

Today I started a new job working for the government that lasts for a year. While I was excited to get it - the job is not what I expected. For months I have been looking for a stable job, I've only had short term contracts lasting a few months so I was relieved and grateful to get this job, but it just doesn't feel like me. I came home and had a good cry.

The work is different from what I was told in the spec and there's so many restrictions in the working environment (due to it being government).

I will try harder and see if I can make this job work, but I just wanted to know what the planets could be saying. Would I be likely to secure a better opportunity early next year? Do I have any upcoming transits that are good for the career? I have a bit habit of leaping before I jump.

Today I feel like I've had a bad hit of Saturn and my Saturn Return ended months ago and actually I have fairly good aspects of Saturn but I'm feeling very confused. To be honest the job isn't the type of job that makes my heart sing but I know for lots of us it's very difficult to find that kind of job, particularly in a recession.

Many thanks

I think you will be able to see what else you got that you have been hiding from yourself. This job may actually help you to know how to use your abilities better/wisely.

I'm starting to wonder whether the places we work have the ability to show us the way we can treat and delegate our own resources/abilities in the next stage of our life path. To the extreme - they could be a mirror image of our potential, short-comings, etc. Shoot - we are a job for our mind, body, and souls.

I think it's interesting that this new job lasts for a year - does this mean you are signed up to work there for a year? The intercepted signs you have in your natal and today's Sun contact to your intercepted Taurus ruler (Venus) and one of Scorpio's ruler (Mars) may have you feeling that you have to come up with all these reasons why you absolutely cannot stay at this place of employment for the full year and it may even make you feel like you have been lied to and therefore can heighten the feeling of disappointment you may have. I'm glad you are talking about it so that you don't have to harbor how you feel to your detriment. Maybe if you could make a note of all that you don't want to put up with at this place (or anywhere), what you think could help you at this place of employment, how you think you could help this place and what you would like to do after your employment at this place is up - this all, so you can have a record of, work on and keep track of those things on your list that change, are abused, are improved, etc. You don't want to throw the eggs out with the basket but you also don't want to leave yourself completely open to being taken advantage of.

it looks like you'll be feeling your saturn for a bit more time. saturn return has of course passed out of orb, but saturn (ruler h6) is still passing through your 2nd, and your prog. asc is moving forward to conj your natal saturn. these issues are going to be coming into clear focus, and more clarity and still more until they're in your face and you can't ignore them. saturn h2 says, one of the things it says anyway, is take stock of your self worth - it's a venus/saturn dynamic after all. ruling your h6 which does point to some type of laborous monotonous govt work, but it points also to the worth you're putting into yourself and what you think you deserve out of work. your progressed sun is at a very critical degree in scorpio leaving a house that is quite quiet, and really a lot of your energy is cenetered there, but it will shortly be moving into sagittarius, and then h5, which is a very open optimistic and fun loving generous time. seems your spirit will open up more and youll be more aware of possibilities and what positive thinking can do. this will be a big surprise to your huge scorp h4 stellium, but really it will give you a much needed break. there will be big changes but right now saturn will be taking up your focus and like i said it will be difficult to ignore. your prog sun later will also be conj n.neptune h5, and if you dont already it looks like that conj will bring you more to your hearts center and serve as a stronger gateway to spiritual fulfillment. also your current sensitivities can be seen with prog moon squaring your already sensitive scorp lineup particularly uranus right now, moon h1 you really do feel like all youre feeling is on display. it's a passing feeling but it will teach you more about how to stand up and speak out about what is right for you and will give you the tension you need to break out. just my opinion. hang in there

Thanks for you comments. Today in this new job, my second day, I just got the most unexpected shock I could've imagined. My ex best friend who I haven't spoken to or seen in 9 years was in my building. I almost choked on my lunch. I hope she doesn't work at one of the companies here.

I don't want to speak to her, this person put me in such a depression that I had to move from where I was living and had to change my celluar number. She was one of those friends that would drain you.

I can't believe it!It's puts this job in a completely different light now. And now I'm thinking about starting my job search again in six months time.

The universe really knows how to shock when you least expect it. It's insane!

hmm, I would seriously give it a couple of months to see whether the bad points really outweigh the bad points. I had a very similar reaction when I started working for the government of my country 5 years ago. As you I was extremely excited to get the job because it was so high profile and competitive to even get in. But then the first day, and even the first weeks really felt like a total shock to my system. I had always worked in business before and the vibe of government with its bureaucracy and hierarchy felt absolutely unbearable and even suffocating to me. With time you get used to it and (at least in my job) I can see a lot of advantages to working in the business world. So unless the job market is fantastic where you live, I would at least give it a couple of months. If you still hate it then, you can be sure you can be sure that throwing in the towel will be the right decision.
