i changed the reference place to my current locale, have not really done this before. it changed my asc and thus the houses.

is this read as my new persona for the area im in?

how does this compare with doing the synastry with your natal and your current locale, the date that the city become official?

any tips, clues, ideas? thanks!

I have not used synastry between me and the place, but I have used the ref. place method and it seems reliable and telling.

As for which method is best, I am afraid, I can't say.

I don't know much about them. I'll be living someplace different for a couple of months this fall. It'll be during my Saturn Return. I did my relocation chart for that city, and it has Saturn exactly on my ASC. I thought that was interesting, considering the timing.

I've also done relocation charts for a foreign city where my SO and I both experienced intense feelings of deja vu. Both of our relocation charts for that city have a heavy water house influence. (Years after our first visit, I learned that my last name comes from that city.)

I've moved around a lot and haven't noticed myself becoming a new person with a change in venue. I have noticed different parts of myself being revealed and highlighted. In that foreign city, my SO and I were both still ourselves, just inundated with a mystical feeling. We were more aware of that way of experiencing life, but it was still our regular old selves experiencing that. Sorta like a transit.

So in the Saturn city, I think I'll still be me, but a "me" more in touch with discipline and the rewards (I hope!) that come from it.

i live on my neptune line and have for about 4 years. definitely feel it and while at first it was all enchanting and everything, now i'm just very very tired of it.

that's from astroclick travel or whatever it's called. in the city i live now my AC is moved back a bit and neptune is on my AC in my first.

i've moved a lot and the astroclick travel stuff tends to be really quite true, in my experience.

Yep. You don't actually change, but your focus becomes different at different places.

Lonake, I think your intuition on it is about right.

When I looked up my relocation chart for Switzerland, which is my favorite place I've been, I found that my Moon was on the Ascendant, my Sun was in the 4th, my chart ruler stayed the same but found (one of) its natural home(s) in the 3rd. All of these things seem to suggest to me that maybe I felt really at home there. I don't know that I felt necessarily like a different person. I just felt comfy.

In a way, I look at the houses as the place, and where my planets fall as my interaction with the place.

this is good to point out i looked at the lines you're referring to but years ago. and thats really interesting how neptune is really strong for you in that locale! is it natally in h12? interesting if on a different level you moved somewhere that would put you more in touch with your neptune energy, and in 2 separate ways....

acoustic,

thats fascinating about your connections to your favorite place and those h4/moon correspondences being prominent. i wonder have you done a synastry to switzerland's chart? for my favorite place i looked at the locale and its not pretty as my mars/saturn/pluto conjunction is smack on the asc. i just took one look at it and thought - what?!

thanks, i'll look into this ~

this is pretty fascinating i looked at AstroClick and at my locale and pulled up the option for disharmonious aspects and on my Mars sq Asc line it pops up along my city. And this aspect is in my relocation chart for this city so now I see how the 2 correspond.

haha i always thought i needed to move out of here ~

thanks, guys!

i like the broader version of astroclick for now and playing around with, it - will look some more.

Regarding your stellium on the Ascendant in your favorite place, wouldn't that kind of bring a major part of your chart to the forefront? Couldn't it be a good thing?...or no?

When i go to turkey it makes my ascendant gemini and i physically completly change and lose weight and become for gemini rising. Moon is in my first house there and for some reason im also very shy there.

Im might be moving to Miami and my relocation chart brings my ascendant into capricorn with POF in first. I wonder what that will be like....

I think it's important to note how the MC changes as well - in some ways, I've found that to be quite relevant (along with the ascendant change) in how we put ourselves out there, and the kind of persona we project when we change location.

hi AG,

ha! well at first sight it was pretty strange to see but now thinking on it, its in libra vs. the last time there was a stellium like that which was leo, so yes the energy is a lot more balanced and considered. i suppose i was feeling a bit more in control and purposeful as that travelling was done alone in a foreign country with not one bit of fear or apprehension, i enjoyed my time there actually!

hi belgz ~ thats so interesting about your physical changes! the capricorn i think might also drop pounds a bit and the angles of your face should be more prominent, model like chisled. where will saturn be in that chart?

hey MVM!,

im still unsure as how much importance to place on mc regarding interactions with the world, i see how it can be what you aspire to in a way and admire, but beyond that im sorta flummoxed mine is aries natally (asc leo) and i dont think i particularly relate to aries energy much. tell me how do you view the MC in conj with the ASC natally, the things they have in common? is it something along the lines of the mc being the reputation? do you think the mc of people you know comes out in their behavior/attitude?

lonake, yeah natally it's in my 12th, 5 deg from my AC. it is interesting that in this location neptune is doubly emphasized isn't it? i find the astroclick's interpretation for this pretty spot on:

Neptune/AC Line

Changes, which you experience under the influence of this line, happen unobtrusively and almost unnoticeably. You feel relaxed and easy, and pleasantly removed from the ordinariness of everyday life. Encouraged by idealism, sympathy and the limitless belief in the power of good over evil, you are happy to entrust your life to a higher presence.

By trusting your only feelings and intuition, you are in danger of losing sight of reality. Contrasted against actual reality, your sensitivity is stretched. You then tend to escape by dreaming, bask in romance and prefer to see the world through rose-coloured glasses.

Surrounded by a secretive and mysterious aura, it is hard to get a hold of reality, and you become the perfect mirror for the projection of unquenched cravings and repressed emotions of others. You may be idealised by some of the people around you, but it is also possible that you are deceived.

You should pay special attention to false promises, secrets or shallow friends, otherwise partnerships end as disappointments. These places are unsuitable for acquiring material possessions or speculating financially. On the other hand, creative pursuits, social services as well as becoming involved with transcendental, religious and spiritual subjects have a purpose.

hey does anyone know which part of the hand you line up with your location? i'm assuming it's the tip of the finger, but as the map is so tiny, even a millimeter difference is quite significant.

I have done my relocation chart after reading this thread, and amazingly enough it makes sense..
I have read all of the house explanations and they ALL make sense with my life here.
it is interesting how in my natal chart, I have a Sun/Mars/Venus/Mercury in XII house, which would mean somewhere very far away ( I have moved half way across the globe 11 years ago), and in my relocation chart my Sun/Mars/Venus are in IV house- at home..i do believe where I am now is my home.

This is just one of the things that struck me as I was reading the chart...
I am now of belief, that there is something about this...
