So far it's always been the influence of this planet or that planet. But can we activate/maximize the influence of "good" heavenly bodies and to quiet down/minimalize those of "bad" ones? Just like in fengshui, perhaps?

Any ideas?

law of attraction
focus on the positive stuff, set a goal, make a plan for that goal, and pursue that goal and achieve.

Also Eckhart Tolle said:

'Make the present moment into your friend, not your enemy"

that could apply to Astrology.

I found it easier said than done, but I am working on it.

I have a t-square of Moon in Pisces in 6th square the opposition of retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th and Jupiter-Neptune in Sagittarius in 3rd. I have Sun in Scorpio in 2nd quincunx Saturn. I have Saturn contraparallel Mercury-Venus-Neptune in the declinations. Negative, pessimistic thinking, self doubt, insecurity have been ongoing problems in my life. I have Sun trine Moon with 2'10 orb, and well...I have had some luck and ease in my life. I have had financial luck in connected with health matters and I financially help out my mother who has health problems. It also manifests as hope and feeling that things will get better.

I do believe that the transneptunian energies are much harder to handle.
Philip Sedgwick calls them "evolutionary intensified objects". Evolutionary suggests that emotional and spiritual crisis induced by the presence and passage of these bodies intends to enhance the insight, inspiration, creativity and consciousness of a person on Earth and through events on Earth containing these bodies in significant locations.
Therefore, people with strong transneptunian energy seem to have evolutionary intensified lessons/experiences that make or break them.
I am one of those people, and that's one of the reasons that I am into Transneptunian Astrology.

“It is absolutely the perfect name,” Dr. Brown said, given the continuing discord among astronomers and the public over whether Pluto should have retained its planetary status.

In mythology, Eris ignited discord that led to the Trojan War.

“She causes strife by causing arguments among men, by making them think their opinions are right and everyone else’s is wrong,” Dr. Brown said. “It really is just perfect.”

Yes, I believe that we can maximize and even override planetary influence, but it takes a lot I imagine.

If planets exert energy at us, and if that energy is a frequency or wave, it means that we can either make our energy output to match the wavelength of that planet, or to make our wavelengths cancel or even make our energy wavelengths supersede their wavelengths and be higher.

When we create vibrational forces out of ourselves that are an inverted type from a planets, then we can cancel it.

If we create the same vibrational force as the planet we enhance and the wavelength, making it bigger.

If we create a vibrational energy that is higher than that of a planet's vibrational energy, we can override it.

So, know the planetary vibration's wavelength, and act accordingly to what you want to achieve, For example, Mars energy is the lower, red type that is akin to carnal energies and such. If you wish to increase that energy, think, act and be that energy. If you want to overcome the Mars energy, look to thinking, acting and being an energy that is of a higher frequency like Jupiter energy, or any of those higher frequency type energies.

And so on...

every planet and aspect has its positive side, just like every situation in life. no need to fear any of them, just look for the gift they bring...and the ones that remove you from situations usually are doing so for the better, the key is not to resist but go with the flow!

There's a book--I forget the name--that suggests we all live according to the sign/placement of our Jupiter sign in order to bring us luck! The author lists traits and suggested activities for each Jupiter.

Works for me--I have a pitcher chart pouring into my 2rd house Pisces Jupiter (3rd house in an Equal House system.)

Two other ideas that make sense:
1) Live out your North Node...try to do things in line with its sign and house placement. Especially practice the ones that are scary.

2) Live in your Draconic chart...pretend it is your natal chart. (This appeals to me also because my NN is in Sag and I have an 8th house Solar Stellium in Sag in my Draconic...aaaannnnddd it would very, very obvious to anyone who knows me that nurturing Sag traits is exactly what I need to bust up my Leo Sun pridefulness mixed with Cancer Moon tenderness problem and live life more adventurously.)

When it comes to tapping into the power of a specific planet--for example, say you are a Cancer Sun-Mercury and you want to tap into the power of your Aries Moon--write a list of traits associated with that planet. Then live as if/act as if those traits already describe and define you. For example, with the Aries Moon, one trait might be "daring and risk-taking."

If you start out simply, focusing on a few traits that you can easily practice, it can end up setting off a whole new dynamic in your chart that's much more complex...a ripple effect.

What planet do you want to activate and play up? Maybe we can help you think of ways.

More simply: just focus on/think about the traits you want to cultivate, and put all your energy there. Don't dwell on what you don't want, just skirt past it.

Hmm..perhaps i need to be more specific:
How to alleviate the negative influence of planet combination in relationship?
Combination like neptune square pluto. And to activate the positive influence such as sun sextile chiron?

I don't think a square will let itself be ignored. It demands attention. Do the squaring planets make any harmonious aspects with different planets? The square can be more manageable if you meet the other person's planet with your planet that "likes" it. If your Neptune squares their Pluto, but your Mercury trines their Pluto, view their Pluto through your Mercury's eyes. Then you'll cultivate understanding and affection for their Pluto. Mercury can lend some of that good will to Neptune, possibly inclining Neptune to take a better attitude toward its relationship with Pluto. The tension will still be there, but now Neptune will want to create something new with it rather than wipe Pluto off the map.

The positive influences are easier to accentuate. Live that interaction.

Even though the example you gave is a harmonious aspect, someone may be reluctant to live from their Chiron. They may not want to get that open and vulnerable. The sextile shows the planets will get along, but the Chiron person first has to take the leap and expose themselves a bit.

i agree v. much with jane's response here

looking at both natal and synastry for "adverse" aspects i like if one or both are receiving an outlet for that energy - a place where they can take that tension and pour it out somewhere constructively.

you can see this in synastry if your natal configuration is somewhat alleviated in combination with another's chart. you can also look at transits and progressions that these planets are under to view those, positively, as times to be proactive and get the energy out in a meaningful, possibly cathartic way. but jane covered this nicely in the quote above.

the book Lucia is referring to is _Jupiter Signs_, and there's a post about it in the older "Astrology" board here, not the 2.0 version which is this one - it's currently on the 1st page.

if you're looking to tune in to a certain planet in your chart there's a corny, fun lil beginner astrology book by an australian astrologer that ive held onto because it talks of life themes related to each sign in vivid colorful detail, very relatable, it's for women but most of it, with some thought, can be applied to men, and its called _New Astrology for Women_. ok but dont back away from the title yet because there's a section in there termed 'Taking your planets for a walk' and it suggests different exercises you can do to get in touch with the different energies. if you have a certain luminary/planet in mind that you think is positive in your chart let me know and i'll paraphrase some of what's mentioned.

also keep in mind if you're feeling overwhelmed say by a certain element, thoughts racing from air, being sunk in emotion and not being able to think objectively like water can get, stuck and unable unwilling to move like earth, or racing around and not taking time to stop and settle like exaggerated fire, the common "cure" is to try to immerse yourself in whatever element you think may help you, for air to feel grounded, earth activities like gardening and learning to budget for instance.

Take a look at this link: http://lessons.astrology.com/course/show/Tibetan-Astrology/2634-Destroying-Element

there's a graphic there on the 'Destroying Element' section (other linked sections are on the left side of the pg) and it shows a similar graphic for 5 of the planets to what you would see in feng shui, the destroying cycle.

here's a quote from one of the linked pgs to help you -

quote:
You can increase the strength of its parent, so that it receives more nourishment and protection. You can decrease the strength of its child, so it does not pull so much strength from its mother, the element you are considering. By the same token, you can decrease the strength of its destroying element, so that it does not impinge on your chosen element, and lastly, you can decrease the strength of the grandchild element, so that it takes less strength to attach. You get the idea.

i dont know if i agree with the train of thought that says missing an element means you're lacking that quality in your psych makeup, like it states for western astrology there - but the rest of it seems to make sense.

Lucia:
How to check the NN? I was born Dec 30,72 http://www.cafeastrology.com/northnodetables.html says that my NN in capri, but in natal chart (can't remember where from), it says SN in Aries meaning NN in Libra.

Jane:
You to make it easy for me with sample. Last night i've made the list and only about half of them can be alleviated this way:
My neptune square his pluto BUT my sun trine it
My neptune square his chiron BUT my sun sextile it and my moon trine it
My mars square his chiron BUT my sun sextile it
My mars square his pluto BUT my sun trine it
My mars square his uranus BUT my mercury trine it
