Full Moon September 4, 2009
(5th in Australia)

12:03 pm EDT
8:03 am PDT

12:15 Virgo Sun Pisces Moon.

The Full Moon takes place at noon on the East Coast of the United States. The shape of the lunation is a see-saw across the parental axis ~ asking us to look at our notions of mom, security, roots and home as well as how we want to go out into the world, be effective, dad and our sense of authority.

Full moons always light up any emotional issues we've been working on and help to make it conscious. The lunation follows the rather difficult eclipse season from Late June to Early August when we saw many of our dreams, family, friends and life chapters in a new light as profound changes took place in and around our world. Now, under this moon, we personalize the changes and figure out how we want to work with them in the years ahead. No right or wrong answers under this moon ~ just an enhanced ability to see the details clearly and move forward with confidence.

Mercury is particularly important on this moon as he rules the Sun in Virgo, is close to dead stopped in the sky and just finished an opening square to Mars in Cancer which took place on the day before the moon. Mercury in Libra answers to the Leo Venus.

Venus is struggling with the Moon regarding doing what she loves versus sacrificing herself for others. Time to do what you love. Even if it is just a teeny tiny bit of love every day, DO WHAT YOU LOVE. Focus on clarity and determine what you need to do to improve your life. It doesn't need to be big and bold. But a tiny bit of doing what you love every day is a very good antidote to the energies swirling around us. The Sabian image for Mercury is A Man Watches His Ideals Taking a Concrete Form Before His Inner Vision. So watch for your ideals taking form before your inner vision. What is the dream? How can you move toward it a bit each and every day. Teeny tiny steps towards what you love.

Mercury also receives a Hammer of Thor aspect from Chiron. Chiron is the handle in this configuration as Mercury's square to Mars forms the hammer. Thor's hammer bangs away at old and out worn structures and tries to knock them down, bang some sense into them or clear them out of the way. Hammers with Chiron are great times to get sick (Chiron) and stay in bed for a couple of days, mulling over your life or dreaming about your future. A cosmic time out if you will.

If you aren't physically sick, you are going to see some "chronic wound" in a new and different light. Perhaps your ex-husband, or your partner's ongoing jealousy and control issues. Maybe your bosses' control needs and critical nature reminds you of your father.

Hammers are AWAKENING aspects as Mercury is stopped in the sky. Whenever a planet is stopped, we see it, and the issues it rules, much more clearly. Mercury in Libra answering to Venus in Leo lets us notice HOW the issue is perhaps even something the person LOVES to do ~ they LOVE to suffer. They LOVE to be in drama, over respond, jump into fix, improve or do for rather than doing their own life's dreams. Some how that became easier to do that doing their own life. Or perhaps WE do that in our life. The Hammer is going to help you see it in a new way.

Again, you can't FIX the other guy. You can't change them. They have their path and their issues. You can, however, choose YOUR response to them and their issues. You don't have to accept being fixed or improved. You can take the hammer and quietly growl, "I LIKE it like this!" Acceptance comes from agreeing to agree with reality.

Another aspect of the Full Moon speaks to accepting reality ~ Saturn in Virgo inconjunct Neptune in Aquarius. Remember acceptance comes from agreeing to agree with reality.

When I was growing up, everyone in my family said to me "Gramma likes you best!" I felt horribly guilty about it and quite defensive. Yes, Gramma DID like me best but it didn't mean I got extra stuff. We all got $20 presents from her ~ she just smiled and laughed more when I was around. She lit up when I entered the room. I was complaining about it once to a therapist. She asked me if it was true. I said, "Yes, but I didn't profit from it or even ask for it". Her comment back to me was one I've used ever since ~ "People like their version of reality to be seen. So why don't you agree with them that Gramma DOES like you best? It will make them stop saying it."

So I did just that ~ I set about validating the other guy's reality. The next time my aunt, Gramma's daughter, said it to me, I replied "I know, Gramma DOES like me best. But she doesn't give me extra stuff!" My aunt counts who gets what! That was the last time my aunt ever said it to me! My sister was next to say, " Gramma likes you best." I replied, "Yes, and Grampa likes YOU best!" Shut her right up too! I continued doing it with the rest of the family, buoyed by my initial success. They all stopped saying it to me! Validating reality works! And more importantly, my sense of shame of having done something wrong abated too.

So look at the world before you. Where is there reality you can validate? Pluto is about to go into Capricorn ~ reality time is here. Time to say what you see and see reality for what it is. The rules that are in place in your life are up for renovation and renewal ~ good, bad or indifferent ~ what needs to be revised, revisited or redone?

Additionally, now that you aren't so defensive about the reality before you, what do you want to do to improve or change it? Once I validated the rest of them and eliminated their comments about Gramma liking me best, I didn't wince when Gramma lit up when she saw me walk into a room. I was able to be just as happy to see her! And to show it! I could light up too!
Now the story before you may not be one you can use the Saturn inconjunct Neptune aspect on ~ but some place in your life there is an adjustment to reality that needs to take place. Adjust and state the reality. Then if you WANT a different outcome, start to move towards it! You can change it. But the first step is recognizing it. And then, once you recognize it, live in the moment of Ah-HA! As it will clear it up and the scales of fear, shame or anxiety about it will drop away.

Pluto is slowing to a stop on the Full Moon too so the sense of pressure will be high and feel like it is building. It is. We are all getting ready to go to the next chapter. Pluto forms a grand cross with Mars, Mercury, Pallas Athena ~ notice the repeating patterns in your life. If you don't like them, you can change them. One teeny tiny step at a time. Once Pluto goes direct on September 11th it will be full steam ahead into Capricorn where reality REALLY wants to be seen.

Lynda Hill's interpretation of the Sabian Image for the Virgo Sun is A POWERFUL STATESMAN OVERCOMES A STATE OF POLITICAL HYSTERIA

Commentary: 'A Powerful Statesman Overcomes a State of Political Hysteria' pictures someone being able to take charge or reign in energies that have gotten out of control. Indeed, as there is some 'Hysteria' involved, something could have blown out of all proportion to reality. The 'Powerful Statesman' may be a person (or people) who is strong, charismatic, and energetic or has a powerful place in society, giving them a position of strength. This gives them a sense of authority, as others will often listen to what they have to say. Just one word from such a person can turn entire situations around with very little apparent effort.

Oracle: You may find that your situation is getting whipped up as people get carried away with the energy that's around. There is a need to get the upper hand to bring about a stabilized outcome-to 'Overcome' the 'Hysteria'. It is through the 'Power' of the personality, being the 'Powerful Statesman', that things can be resolved and brought to a state of equilibrium. Regaining control of one's thoughts, psyche and emotions can ease tensions and bring the situation back to normal. Changing one's mind about an issue that may have been overpowering can enable, a whole new view of one's position in life to crystallize. Discipline and control will help in this situation; this can be on a physical, mental or spiritual level. Looking after the small problems as they arise helps to stop them turning into issues that are larger, and more difficult to control. It is always better if we notice when things are just beginning to get out of hand or out of shape, not waiting until things are 'Hysterically' messy. After all, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Call on an your higher nature to regain control and bring the situation back to normality.

Keywords: The power to sway the mob. Having the charisma and talent to turn situations around. Reining in elements of personality that get out of control and take over. Pulling the rope tight. Mind control. Political savvy. Knowing what to say and when to say it. Keeping your mouth shut and ears open. Rhetoric.

The Caution: Conscious emotional manipulation and bullying. Misusing charismatic energy to sway others to personal advantage. Being aggressive, demanding and overbearing. Hypnotic persuasion. Propaganda. Misinformation. Using "political speak" to control situations or people. Emotional repression.
To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right. Confucius

A government is like fire, a handy servant, but a dangerous master. George Washington

The worst tyrants are those which establish themselves in our own breasts. William Ellery Channing

Today the nations of the world may be divided into two classes-the nations in which the government fears the people, and the nations in which the people fear the government. Amos R. E. Pinochet

Lynda Hill's interpretation of the Sabian Image for the Pisces Moon is A SWORD, USED IN MANY BATTLES, IS NOW IN A MUSEUM.
Commentary: 'A Sword' that has been 'Used in Many Battles' is 'Now in a Museum'. It has most likely seen many struggles, battles and conflicts. It may have had to defend the honor of someone or something, and now it is placed in a 'Museum' where people can come and look at it and wonder at its history. The 'Sword' is such a masculine image, strong, heroic, metallic, sharp, hard and forbidding. The 'Sword' has done its job and now needs to be put away, somewhere where it won't need to fight or defend. The fact it is in 'A Museum' points to the fact that it is a reminder of the battles of days gone by.

Oracle: When reminded of the 'Battles' of the past, hopefully we are influenced towards peace, but we are also uplifted by the memory of the strength of the participants, their bravery and valor. You may be faced with the choice of fighting for something or reasoning with the intellect. This can be confusing if you lack training or experience in the ways of doing 'Battle'. The obvious message is that it's time to lay down one's 'Sword', not in order to necessarily surrender, but in order to stop "the warring". Perhaps this pictures someone who doesn't know when to give up taking others on and fighting. This Symbol shows it's time to give up 'Battling', to aim now for more peaceful solutions. There may have been a lot learnt in the 'Battles' you've experienced, but one thing that's best learnt is that continuing to fight may lead to a bitter end, with no one being a true winner. Now's the time to lay down the 'Sword' and accept love and peace back into your life. Putting the 'Sword' away in a 'Museum' can allow others to benefit from the struggles that have been undertaken, without worrying about how this weapon will be used in the future. How long can one go on battling, fighting and defending?

Keywords: Willpower. Martial arts. Putting aside thoughts of vengeance and revenge. Hanging up or laying down one's 'Sword'. Trophies of conquest that remind us of the past. History. Aging and maturing. Retirement. Remnants of battles. The Sword of Destiny. Souvenirs of the past. "Words as Swords". The Spear of Destiny. The Sword Excalibur. Disarming weapons. The search for truth and justice. Suits of armor.

The Caution: A lack of sensitivity. A pretense of one's abilities. Giving up and "falling on one's sword" from defeat. Grudges. Wanting to go into 'Battle' at the slightest excuse. Selfish agendas. Weapons of mass destruction or weapons of mass distraction? Pre-emptive strikes. Defensive behavior.

Yet each man kills the thing he loves, By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look, Some with a flattering word, The coward does it with a kiss, The brave man with a sword! Oscar Wilde

If we could read the secret history of our enemies we should find in each man's life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility. Longfellow

I just feel like this is going to hurt if you are on the receiving end of this one.

The WOUND driving the HAMMER, the head of which is created with Mercury (words/thoughts/communication) SQUARE (stress and conflict) Mars (anger/agressiveness/ego).

Nope. I'm not returning any phone calls on Friday.

How long does this stay in effect? Is it just the day of the full moon or the entire month?

I don't know how long the aspects affect us. But she definitely says that the other person is acting out of fear....

"Moon in Pisces softens the Mercury Mars square. It is a consciousness opening square with Mercury is going to see that Mars is acting from a place of fear. See the soul of the person. Talk to that. Talk to the soul of the person. Or talk to YOUR soul. The mess that is causing the fear is what they are afraid of."

The sabians are usually dead on point. Obama will address Congress about Health Care reform on 9/9....hope the 'overcomes' part is true.

Also-The Hammer with Merc / Mars / Chiron

To add- Valentine is @ 22 Leo...Chiron 22
Vesta and Juno are also in aspect,
