Weekly Weather September 7, 2009Forward we go into our future this week! Full Steam ahead for Pluto in Capricorn! Pluto stations and goes direct! Back to reorganize the paperwork, file the last bits, reprint the plane tickets and confirm our destination, Mercury goes retrograde. Throw in a few other adjusting aspects and sesquis and we have a fun and challenging week ahead of us.
Whenever a planet stops in the sky and changes direction, we notice. We are all about motion ~ the earth spins, the wind blows, the tides ebb and flow, our heart beats as our lungs breathe in and out. Motion is THE major principle of life on earth. So when ANY thing we are used to having move stops, we notice it. Astrologers even write columns about it! Two planets stop this week.
First Mercury stops and goes back to where he was on August 17th. On August 17th, you had just finished the eclipse season. Lying, exhausted from all the changes, on the pavement, your couch or maybe even the beach, you resolved to ….. What? What happened on or around the 17th of August relative to all the changes in your life that have happened since the end of June? What did you resolve to do then? What did you change then? What changed on YOU then by someone else?
Starting on Monday, we re-evaluate that decision or change from August. We will be working with it all of September. Saturn is going to change signs soon ~ leaving Virgo for 28 years to go into Libra. We are going to be partnering with our Saturn in a different way pretty soon. We are NOT going to be the young child, willing student or apprentice any more. Back on the 17th, you realized you weren’t the same. You’d changed! You were not the young child, student or apprentice. You actually knew what you were doing. You learned what you DIDN’T know but you were also AWARE of what you KNEW. Now, as Mercury moves backwards towards that time again, you are asked to reevaluate and perhaps change what you TOLD your self about the story. I want you to put a new spin on the story or what you went through.
Make your self the HERO of your story, the heroine of that adventure. “And then the young apprentice realized he was able to….” Tell it with the HIGHER vision of what you learned in your life and from the experience. Let’s say you were dumped by a person you cared for deeply. So as the heroine, “And then, through her tears, she realized that she deserved a strong, brave, and honorable man to share her life with. She wanted to build a life with a person who was kind and true.” That is the frame ~ DO not tell the story of your OLD vision: “ONCE AGAIN she found herself broken and crying over a man who hurt her almost as deeply as her father had.”
Or say your brother is running amok as executor after your mother died during the eclipses. NOT: “Well, my brother was mom’s favorite so he can continue do bad behavior like he always did.” Instead reframe it: “The days where he was The King with No Accountability died when my mother died. Now he must act as a responsible executor of my mother’s estate or he will be removed from the job. I will hold all of us to a higher standard.”
The key here is the holding to a higher standard. Saturn in Virgo SO KNOWS what is right and wrong. Saturn in Virgo SO COUNTS to keep track. Saturn in Virgo SO USES the Rules to his advantage. There is a right way and a wrong way. The time to get your Saturn in order is now. And trust me, that story from the eclipses is tied to doing your Saturn in a firm and responsible manner with no slip shod methods! That story from the eclipses is tied to executing the changes needed and demanded by Pluto in Capricorn in a clean, precise, responsible and upright manner. No deceptions, self or other than self, need apply or stay.
So if your partner is jealous of your child, point that out and ask them to own it. If you are jealous of your partner’s child and all the stuff that partner does for the kid, own your jealousy too. We are all in a bit of a fun house right now where the universe is pointing out our issues and asking us to own them through the vehicle of the other person. The other person flirted with the cute guy she met at the party while you were working. Well, she wants to have fun. You want to work. No restricting her fun because you don’t want to play with her and would rather work.
Own your stuff. Pluto in Capricorn is going to be grinding down on all of us to own our stuff. At the same time, we are going to be asked to NOT take on the responsibility for the OTHER guy’s stuff. There is too much to do in the months and years ahead for you to be doing the other guy’s stuff without any help or support from them. They are supposed to do their stuff, not get you to do it. You are supposed to do your stuff. You are not to do their stuff to AVOID doing your stuff or to postpone your own life a minute longer. No more drama about same old, same old.
If you’ve had the conversation more than three times and they STILL aren’t changing their behavior, they are NOT GOING TO CHANGE THE BEHAVIOR. You need to change YOUR BEHAVIOR or reaction to them. There are many ways you can change.
Essentially, the behavior that irritates you is either a part of your chart that you’ve given over to them to do for you OR it is a part of your chart that you are not doing and they’ve taken over that planet or aspect for you. Unattended sections of our chart can become wild and crazy when someone else drives the planet for us. Pluto in Capricorn is all about knowing your chart and being responsible for how it shows up in the world and your life.
My friend Brenda has a wicked mutable t-square that she is very aware of in her chart. We were in Chicago together and catching a shared car to the airport to come home from the Astrology Conference. I was running about 10 minutes late due to a delay with the ISAR certification test. A third woman in our car was worrying, obsessing and stressing over missing her flight. She wanted the car to leave without me.
Driver, Obsessing Woman and Brenda ~ the t-square legs are in place! Brenda talked to the driver, explained the situation, got out of the car, and called me on her cell phone. The driver (another leg of the t-square) got out of the car too and stood away from the crazed woman in the car. The t-square moved. One leg was left behind in the car!
Brenda could feel the Virgo part of her t-square being taken over by the woman in the car. Brenda was starting to feel helpless, and was pushed into the Pisces part of the t-square. Brenda took her Virgo planets back and took action. She took her Mars in Gemini, fighting in the car, and instead moved out of the car. She left the woman in the car alone making her become the Pisces part of the t-square. Brenda waited for me (Pisces moon) outside the car with the male driver (Mars in Gemini) ~ forming a new version of the t-square energy ~ Me- the missing Pisces, Brenda and the Driver while the other earlier leg of the Pisces Moon was isolated in the car alone.
Do you see how Brenda re-worked that energy? You can do it too. Just see the pattern start up and take steps to change, interrupt or take back your planets that the other person is using.
Mercury retrograde in Libra and Virgo is going to ask us to look at the facts of the story and come up with a conclusion. The reason there are 12 jurors is 12 people see the world is 12 different ways. If you can get them to agree, the evidence must be clear.
At the same time, if you tweak the evidence, or move it or hide it ~ you might not get a clear result. No more hiding the evidence. LOOK at it in your life.
Mercury retrograde also brings back ghosts from our past. We hear from people we haven’t heard from in a good long while. Talk to your ghosts. Friend them on Facebook. See what your ghosts have to tell you about your life. Listen to your ghosts!
Pluto stations to go Direct on the 11th. When that happens, there is no turning back. We are in position for the next major evolutionary chapter of our lives. We are moving towards it. We are large and in charge of our own destiny. We are in control of what we are going to make of our lives. No more excuses. Reality is here. It is time for you to create your Saturn in the most profound way you possibly can. Time to do your Saturn each and every day. The more you do your Saturn, the easier and more delightful Pluto in Capricorn will be.
Monday Moon in Aries is a rocking and rolling energy as Mercury stations to go retrograde until September 29th in Libra and Virgo. Mercury stops at 6 Libra and backs up to 22 Virgo ~ Mercury will be working with the events since August 17th. Reframe the story. Make yourself the hero or heroine of it. No negative visions. You learned. You fixed. You proceeded. You’ll partner with it soon enough. Moon has pleasant aspects for a lovely day off ~ it is a holiday in the States ~ or to work on interesting projects. Venus sees a way to create something she’d like. Give her permission to create what she loves. Support Venus by redecorating, loving or doing some beautification project in your world. Do a Brenda!
Tuesday Saturn refuses to see the pattern. Oh please. The whole point of having a Saturn is to learn from him. Saturn! LOOK AGAIN at the pattern. Do you see how the pattern SUPPORTS the thing that needs to change? Please Saturn, look again! You look again too. Sure it is completely easy to say “No one will ever love me!” when you are suffering from a broken heart. That excludes billions of people who are candidates. That excludes the people who want YOU to love them the way THEY were never loved as a child. That excludes the people who are afraid you will love them. Big wild world out there. Venus argues with Neptune and Pluto to says that the dream is not possible. Well the old saying is appropriate: “If you think you can or if you think you can’t ~ You are always right!” Why can’t your dream come true? Can you change your thinking. Talk to the ghosts of your past that appear. Talk to Venus about what she loves and deeply wants in her life. Can you give her a little bit each and every day to make her happy? Strategic partnerships can appear. Sign up and say yes with a caveat that you might want to change it down the line a bit…. Wednesdays Venus fights with Juno ~ questioning our concept of partnership. Why do we feel it needs to be conventional and exclusive? What is the essence of creative partnership? What adjustments can be made to help partnerships move productively? Saturn is putting the brakes on partnerships today until those questions are answered. Before the relationship can move forward, those key questions need to be asked and answered. Otherwise you are NOT going to like the result. Moon’s trine to Sun, square to Jupiter and trine to Saturn suggest you get the deal in writing as the over-promise ~ whatever it is ~ won’t last. With aspects like this, people over commit past what they can deliver. Take deals with a few grains of salt as they are not able to deliver all they say they will. On your side, be careful to NOT over promise. When it comes time to deliver, you won’t be able to deliver what is outside your realm of influence. So be cautious and apply caveats. Suggest conditions. People are not going to hear them so get them in writing even if you draft the memo in an email form. Document! Document carefully! It will turn out okay as the closing aspects are good but there will be a twist at the end. Do a Brenda!
Thursday Moon is void in the am and enters Gemini at noon: seventeen east coast time. The closing aspect is a square to Uranus so there will be a weird separation on things begun under this moon. Mercury is asking Vesta what she wants in her home to make it beautiful and bright. Sun doesn’t get why Venus is upset and teary. She wants love. She wants her dream. Comfort Venus by giving her something that she loves and telling her that soon enough we’ll get there. Pluto stopped dead in the sky is also kicking up a lot of deep, submerged emotions. Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Wars begin when Pluto stations so watch for them this week and next. Do a Brenda.
Friday Pluto stations and the world shifts. Venus is opposite Jupiter suggesting there can be overdoing. Venus is feeling a bit manic. Earlier in the week she was despondent, yesterday she was depressed and today she’s flying high. Remember the desire nature is all over the place this week as the two planets stop and one is talking to Venus. Sun needs to make an adjustment to the big dream. Start with a small corner of your dream so you don’t feel so overwhelmed. Rome wasn’t built in a day and your life is no different. Simply agreeing to make the change and take responsibility is going to shift the energy in a profound manner. Do a Brenda! Take charge of your chart’s planets that someone is trying to do for you. Venus has an aspect of brilliance to Uranus so have a vision of WHAT you are going for. Do you know what victory looks like?! If you’ve tied your dream to attaining a certain dollar amount before you let yourself xyz ~ you may never get there! If you don’t get there, do you really want to sacrifice the xyz because you didn‘t get there? What is the short term goal? What is the long term goal? What does victory look like? What is the small marker of success? So many people postpone living their best lives, waiting for some mythic moment to arrive to mark the time of accomplishing their dream. What is the vision? Do you know what your dream looks like? And, perhaps more importantly, is it even YOUR dream or is it some one else’s dream that you are living? Before you go investing all that time and talent of your Saturn into someone else’s dream, make sure it is YOUR dream too!
Saturn’s day. Pluto is going forward and life is good. Saturn has an adjusting aspect asking you to adjust your dream to your vision of what you want, not the other guy’s vision ~ good or bad as it may be. What is YOUR vision? How can you create it? How did your vision come to be? Do you need to revise your vision (see Mercury retrograde!) to get it a bit closer to what you want out of life? It is a Scorpio adjustment energy which suggests probing the depths of your being to see where this dream of yours actually came from. Is it YOUR dream or someone else’s dream FOR YOU? If the dream MATCH, great. Forward you go. Do a Brenda! If the dreams don’t match, pick YOUR dream ~ a slight pattern adjustment is in order. Sun joins with Pallas asking us to strategize in a way that helps create the dream we have for ourselves. Today has a LONG void moon making it a wonderful day for restful recreating or spiritual work.
Sunday Moon in Cancer is occulted by Mars adding a jolt of energy to an otherwise pleasant Sunday. Occulted planets can feel like you are a bit blindsided by the change or the unanticipated nature of the shift in energy. Mars also fights with Neptune today so it can feel rainy or depressing or emotionally like you are boxing with a ghost or bad dream. While the vision is fine and the idea may be brilliant, you may not be doing it with this person before you. You may need a new person or partner to create the future. Do a Brenda! Pluto has a vision of brilliance around creating a new nest or home for you to work in. All to the good. Mercury is revising the vision for a few more weeks. All to the good. Forward.

The last one was insanely accurate - the Leo full moon eclipse did relate to the Aquarius eclipse in early Feb 2008 in retrospect. I've never seen that technique before - what is the underlying reasoning? Ever curious Scorpios want to know. Figure this is a great question and answer for your column.
Anne: It is a great question, Dave. It is the theory of LUNAR FAMILIES developed and publicized by Dietrech Pessin in Boston, NY. Dietrech wrote a great book ~ Lunar Shadows The Lost Key to the Timing of Eclipses.
YOU ARE RIGHT!!! It is a Saros cycle thing. The lunation's phases are at the SAME DEGREE. (give or take a degree or two). It is a great cycle to use or watch in the development of longer projects and themes. So last week, New York’s Love Guv, Elliot Spitzer was back in the news thinking about running again for office. So if you remember, the new moon in March 2008 was when he got taken out for frequenting a high priced prostitute in Washington, DC on Valentine’s Day. It is also when the first financial collapse of Pluto in Capricorn happened. That means the next phase of financial collapse is probably coming soon!
The LUNAR SHADOWS book is great and explains the concept beautifully. There are moon tables in the book so you can look forward and backwards to see the evolution of the cycle over a longer phase. For the next new moon, the phases are

Look where the new moon falls in your chart and watch how the phases unfold over time. It is absolutely fascinating!

Anne: Astrologers have notice over the millennium that lights, planets, angles or sensitive parts falling on certain degrees called the WORLD AXIS promise the person “fame in the world” for that planet or part of their chart. You can have these degrees in your natal chart. You will see them in the charts of the famous people. You can also have the degrees on the World Axis take place by secondary progression or solar arc, in which case you have your “15 minutes of fame” as promised by Andy Warhol. Then, as the progression or arc eases and separates, you go back to your regular life.
The points are:
0 and 22.5 of Cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn
15 Fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius
7.5 Mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces
Use no more than a 1 degree orb on either side of these degrees of fame.
