So, I'm pretty new to astrology and even newer to this sight, but I've been reading posts here and there. There is plenty of talk of synastry here, so I was wondering if some of you might have any experiences with a lack of planet's in the relationship house's (5,7, and 8)in a girlfriend or boyfriend's chart. I am really into this guy and none of my planets fall in any of his relationship houses. We have other aspects that attract and bind us in some way and his moon is in my
7th. But I don't know what it means when there is a lack of planets in those houses on
one side. At the same time I think if its going well then its going well, no matter where planets fall, but I can't help but wonder what that could mean. I'd take all the insight I can get when it comes to relationships. Anybody been there? Any experience would be helpful and appreciated.
Thank you!

How we react to someone's planets falling into certain houses of our charts depends on the nature of our own charts. ^_~ So that different people would react differently when they have planets falling in certain houses of their charts. So that it's not always that meaningful or good to have 5th/7th/8th houses overlays, as well as sometimes, for some people, having overlays in boring houses might actually be more meaningful.

How we view a house overlay basically depends on the sign it is in, and also what aspects do the overlay planets makes with our planets. Also, planets has different importance in different charts too.

For example, having your Moon falling into someone's 8th house might sound nice, but what if your Moon forms many hard aspects with his/her planets? Also, some people might feel very attracted, while some might not feel comfortable with the 8th house issues, if not repulsive.
Another example is, having certain hard aspects might be too much for some, while for others they might actually like it.

So, in the end, it's better to check each natal chart separately first to see what are each other's nature and tastes. Then you can see what aspects and house overlays in the synastry are relevant. ^_~

Personally, my most committed relationships have involved the guy having lots of planets in my 9th, 10th, or 11th house.

I had a one-sided attraction to a guy who completely didn't want me and I had planets falling in his 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th houses.

I think it really does depend on the natal chart and the unique connection between the two people. Even beyond that--each relationship is so unique that the next one (platonic, romantic, OR a creative collaboration) could completely activate and awaken a new part of you, and hit your chart in a different way from what usually interests you or what has attracted you in the past.

So the only reason to worry about things being one-sided is if they feel kind of one-sided in your real life relationship.

The thing to do is drop any idea of synastry as a test (is it "good" or "bad", are we "meant to be"? are we "compatible" or "incompatible"?) Look to the synastry to see the unique ways that you might effect each other. For example, if a big pile of his planets fall in your tenth house, the relationship might have a big impact on your lifepath and career trajectory and what you decide to do with your life...the dynamics between your 10th house planets and the rest of his chart will help flesh out the story. If those same planets fall in your 7th, not your 10th, it means the relationship may shape how you view, experience, and act out partnerships in your life. It doesn't mean you will like or want him any more or less.

I'm getting to the stage where, while the stuff you are talking about still sounds foreign, it is starting to make sense. You guys are amazing! Thank you.
