Anne Ortelee is always telling reading to "Do Your Saturn"...Azalaksh just posted this great link with instructions about how: http://p7.hostingprod.com/@anneortelee.com/articles/2006/07/weekly_weather_july_24_2006.html

Anne says to write a list of the words associated with your natal Saturn sign and house.

Mine is in Cancer in the 7th house. I made a list, but I still can't figure out exactly what I can DO.

Any ideas for how to "Do My Saturn"? And how do you do YOUR Saturn?

lol. My Saturn is in the 3rd in Cancer.
I've been pushing and pushing to complete my 2nd book, have been struggling with it, but working to become more disciplined. The subject is highly emotional and I am having to look at it and still write, though it tears me up.

Also, I think the 3rd has to do with siblings, right? I've been having major problems in regards to my sister's (very stupid) behavior for the past few months. If anything, I've been most Saturnine about her behavior....the Saturn Cancer in me is simply withdrawing now into a shell.

Oh, did I mention my South Node is there in Cancer in the 3rd as well, conj my Saturn?

Sometimes I feel Saturn is doing *me*

I'm not sure how to "do" a Saturn either.

Mines in 9th in Scorpio.

I found this interesting tidbit of info for 9th house Saturns:

quote:
If Saturn is within 10° of the midheaven (the tenth house cusp), then it is conjunct the tenth house cusp and much of the above interpretation starts to become weaker. If Saturn is in the ninth house AND within 4° or 5° of the midheaven, then it is said to be on the "dark side" of the tenth house, and it influence will be felt in the tenth as well as in the ninth house. The closer a ninth house Saturn is to the midheaven, the more it will be interpreted as though it were in the tenth house; when less than 3° from the midheaven, a ninth house Saturn expresses itself primarily -- and eventually entirely -- in the tenth house.

and

quote:
The ninth house is one of Saturn's best house positions, for here it stabilizes and makes practical your religious and philosophical ideas. You need to persevere in pursuing the education and knowledge you personally need for your long haul. Teaching, publishing and science are good careers. Religion, philosophy, and truth are essential to your life; you're painstaking and deliberate in sorting through what is lasting and solid for you. If Saturn opposes or squares a personal planet, it's a good idea to live away from your relatives. Long journeys can be a great source of education for you.

http://www.myastrologybook.com/Saturn-in-the-ninth-house-9th-house.htm

So I guess to "Do" a 9th house Saturn would imply to stick by your philosophies, morals and views on life, and be true to yourself... when going through times like this.

7th house Saturn:

quote:
The first of the social houses, the seventh house is opposed to the first house literally and in emphasis: in the first house we put our energies into the world; in the seventh the world puts energy back into us. The purpose of the seventh house is to bring about greater self-awareness through relating to what we experience as being outside of ourselves. This may in fact be energy within us that we have rejected out of fear or the need to experience it more objectively or externally. This is called projection, and we seek projected parts of ourselves in our intimate relationships

and

quote:
If Saturn is within 10° of the descendant (seventh house cusp), then it is conjunct the descendant and much of the foregoing is even more strongly emphasized. If Saturn is in the sixth house AND within 4° or 5° of the descendant, then it is said to be on the "dark side" of the seventh house, and its influence will be felt in the seventh as well as in the sixth house. The closer a sixth house Saturn is to the descendant, the more it will be interpreted as though it were in the seventh house; when less than 3° from the descendant, a sixth house Saturn expresses itself primarily -- and eventually entirely -- in the seventh house.

http://www.myastrologybook.com/Saturn-in-the-seventh-house-7th-house.htm

Seeing as 7th rules partnerships, legal documents (I think) and open enemies... perhaps to "Do" a Saturn in this house requires you to "put energy back towards yourself", be aware of outside influences and how you relate to other people and use this to bring about self-awareness, or perhaps be self-aware when relating to others.

I knew this was Lucia's thread!

quote:
EIGHTH HOUSE: This is the House of
DEATH & RE-BIRTH & OTHERS' RESOURCES...
how you let the old and outworn "die" so it can be re-cycled or transformed into something new and useful;
how you allow others to die or leave and let them go, how you deal with death or divorce or separation or loss;
how you "surrender yourself", how you give up control or power;
how you try to control or manipulate or coerce or bully or threaten - or try to avoid being treated that way by others;
how you re-form, re-arrange, renew, re-adjust, rebuild, restore, re-work, re-generate, refurbish, reconstruct, renovate;
how you let parts of yourself "die" or be removed or destroyed to allow new growth: worn-out or diseased body cells, self-limiting beliefs or bad habits, attachments to people who limit your growth or sap your strength, attachments to possessions which possess or restrict or burden you, obsessions or compulsions which control you;
how you give birth to something new: a baby - by sex or artificial insemination, a union of body & spirit by surrendering self in sexual orgasm; a belief - by releasing or changing an old one; a material form - by transforming or removing or destroying the old one;
how you deal with resources of others: legacies, inheritences, insurance, alimony, taxes, loans, money or property held or managed for others.

Of course it has to be an eighth house thing with me.

quote:
Modest and shy.
Meticulous and reliable.
Practical and diligent.
Intelligent and analytical.
Fussy and a worrier.
Overcritical and harsh.
Perfectionist and conservative.
Intelligent, thrifty, organized, extreme neatness or sloppiness, perfectionist, analytical, worrier, health conscious, organic, hard worker, avid reader, researcher, problem solver, critical, compassionate, humble, service oriented

…and a Virgo thing.

I can see where getting over my perfectionist ways and losing control or giving up a little power would help me out A WHOLE LOT – but it is a very hard thing to do especially when you have been that way since, uh, forever. I have been celibate for almost 2 years during this Saturn Return and it is mainly because of the perfection thing. I am starting to get over that, slowly but surely. Thank goodness my Solar Return has lots of love stuff in it, making me actually want to go back out there, or I’d just be the same workhorse and power-scholar I have always been. It is actually taking some time for me to get off of my a** and do something about that situation though, I can’t rush things. I should be proud of myself and what I have accomplished so far and I should be ready to let someone in and let go of the reigns for a bit. It is good to be a little lazy, to not know where your next meal is coming from lol. I kind of had (okay, still have) OCD about my bank accounts but since I am not employed at the moment, um, no control really. I am living on borrowed money and in borrowed spaces – other people’s stuff – but I am being responsible about it. I haven’t missed rent and my bills are paid, I am just a bare bones version of myself. I also realize that what I have been doing isn’t good for me, career-wise. I am still trying to figure out what to do but I am not sure what to get over – should I do what I love and make less money and start at the very bottom OR should I take a “straight” job that pays well and try to love it. That is what I am trying to figure out now. I have to let go and see if things just fall into place without my intervention – they actually seem to be, I just have to believe it.

Sorry about the ramble. To sum it up: 8th house – power and control plus Virgo – perfection and practicality...I need to let go!

Do my Saturn?

My Saturn is in the 7th house in Taurus.

Saturn is exalted in the 7th house.

Doing my Saturn involves acting responsibly and offering practical assistance in partnerships of public kinds. In my marriage I take care of finances, and paperwork. I do voluntary community work that gives me plenty of work to do in helping people out on a one-to-one basis.

The same in Cancer is nuturing. Nurturing and caring in close relationships in that non-glamorous but integral Saturnian way.

Does "do your saturn," mean how to fix or control it?? o.O

I've got Saturn conj. Asc in Libra 1H, and everyone tells me I'm too serious or seem permanently depressed. Hrmm...not sure how to fix that lol.

MVM,
wow so has your first book been published?? What type of stuff do you write about/fiction?...sounds intense so I'm really curious. I've been trying to write a bit more these days and it's definitely trying! >_<

The same in Cancer is nuturing. Nurturing and caring in close relationships in that non-glamorous but integral Saturnian way.

I find that my 7th house Cancer Saturn makes me horribly vulnerable to romantic rejection....romantic rejection causes an intense pain, and I turn it inward, worrying that I am not good enough or beautiful enough.

I get overdependent on my mother to bolster me up, even though it doesn't make me feel better.

If I could change anything about myself or my life, I would have everyone I like, love, or want like/love/want/adore me just as much!

In other areas of life--including career, travel, platonic friendships, just everything--I am a strong, independent, fun-loving, and adventurous person (8th house Leo, Draconic Saggie.)

I don't know what "exalted" means, but I find this 7th house Cancer Saturn a miserable placement--heavy, burdensome, and humiliating. Although, I am definitely sensitive to other's feelings and I have been told I'm very gifted at helping OTHER people through emotional problems.

I adored my 1st Saturn Return because I felt like transiting Saturn gave me A LOT of discipline and energy to transform old patterns--my Saturn is conjunct my Moon-DC, opposite my AC, and square my Pluto, so a lot of intensely challenging and transformational dynamics were activated at that time.

I'd like to find a way to "Do My Saturn" so that I don't feel so...Cancerian...about 7th house issues.

My Saturn is in the 7th house, in Libra. I am highly relationship oriented.

I will go with MVM's interpretation, but will also say that "doing my Saturn" probably means not losing myself in relationships, establishing boundaries, and maintaining my identity i.e. resisting the urge to merge with the other.

Diana, what exactly did you DO?

I find a lot of this too abstract for me to really work with. "Not losing myself in relationships" isn't really an action I can practice for an hour a day.

hmm. i have saturn in virgo (conj NN) in the 8th. so for me it's a little more practical. focusing on routine, organization, taking care of my health, and cleaning (yes it really helps!! i hate it at first but once i'm into it i actually find JOY in cleaning!).

as for the 8th house stuff, it feels to me like allowing myself to lose control and stagnancy. it is a bit abstract, but i guess i have help with my NN there, in that i know when i consciously let myself feel less rigid and set in my ways, i experience my transformational renewal stuff.

saturn in the 7th has always kinda confused me, and even saturn in cancer. i have progressed saturn in the 7th so this interests me too. i would say maybe taking relationships very seriously, but taking YOURSELF very seriously as the foundation of that; ie examining who YOU are as a partner, so that you may relax into sweetness and givingness within your partnerships..? just off the top of my head.

I do serious relationships or none at all (7th house). I feel somewhat lost without one special close person in my life, but can't be in a relationship with just anyone - VERY choosy.
I (must) do creative things (Leo) like painting or crafting.

Saturn in Leo = I do not like the spotlight.

Taurus and abstract, no, that must be why I am not having a problem with this house and planet.

Exalted => planet in position or strength when placed in a house of sign.

Fall => planet in a position or weakness when placed in a house of sign.

Unfortunately with Saturn in Cancer in the 7th what you are given with one hand gets taken away in the other as Saturn is strong in the 7th but weak in Cancer (Saturn is in its fall in Cancer).

quote:
In astrology, the fall of a planet is the sign which is opposite that planet's sign of exaltation. Originally, in Greek, the sign of a planet's "fall" were called tapeinoma, which means "humbled" or "dejected" or "depressed,[1]" whereas "exalted," in Greek was hyposoma, which means "risen in height.[2]

I've got Saturn in Scorpio in the 12th house.

I think this position can be difficult because the 12th house seems so abstract to me, whereas Saturn itself is more concrete.

My best guess is: I let my insecurities, inner fears, guilts, etc prevent me from being very deep and vulnerable with other people. They keep me from just letting go control of the situation when I know I should. It's hard for me to just trust in God sometimes.

However, the power in this placement is an innate ability to understand spirituality on deeper levels, and to understand others on a deeper soul level. Also, I am able to sacrifice some of myself for the good of others on a larger scale.

Virgo Saturn in 11th house: Service to the group at-large...but of course it's going to be conscientious, concise, and practical service.
