Is a trine and a sextile basically the same thing, sames goes for a square and an opposition? When I read some descriptions for transits they're almost indentical for a trine and a sextile. Thanks Miss Mystic IP: Logged |

Hi Mysticr, I'll answer the square and opposition aspects and leave the trine and sextile for the next person.Basically a square aspect shows where compromise is needed and the opposition shows where you have to make a choice, one or the other. IP: Logged |

Hi, Mysticr, the trine aspects are between two planets when they are 120 degrees apart. It's regarded as a very easy aspect in a chart, the planets share the same element, they hold hands. The sextile is regarded quite similarly to the trine, but it's not as 'easy' as trines. Sextiles fall between different but compatible elements.Fire sextile air and earth sextile water signs.I read that whilst squares 'push', trines 'allow' and sextile 'coax'. Hope thos helps. trine and sextile are considered to be soft aspects. trine is about ease, harmony sextile is about opportunity, the ability to work with trine corresponds with Leo and Sagittarius sextile corresponds with Gemini and Aquariussquare is about friction, internal stress opposition is about the struggle for balance and awareness of others, external stress both are considered action-oriented aspects as they correspond with solstice signs opposition corresponds with Libra square corresponds with Cancer and Capricorn These aspects can push people to action because of challenging they feel Raymond ------------------ "Nothing matters absolutely; the truth is it only matters relatively" - Eckhart Tolle IP: Logged |

The sextile is comparable to a Mercury transit. It's the transit of opportunity. There's a certain clarity of thought about it. Understanding. If there's stress in a relationship, it will be apparent now, but the need to fix it won't be urgent. With transits, there's an understanding of what that planet's energy is all about. The Trine is comparable to a Venus transit, it's an easy going harmonious influence. Indulgent. Stresses if they exist in a relationship will be easily calmed. Transits to your planets with this aspect gives a free pass. Beauty. This aspect shows you the beautiful side of the uglier planets. Relax and go with the flow, begs this aspect. The Square & Opposition are comparable to a Mars transit. The gloves come off. There's an abundance of energy about. If you're on the right track the energy will be yours to use. If you're off track the energy will be turned against you. IP: Logged |

i see planets in oppositions 360/2 as complementary, pulling apart but being unseparable, like if one planet was in the shadow of the other, and vice-versa. the square 360/4 for me doesn't have this complementarity; the planets disturb each other, like something in your shoe when you walk. but they force you to deal with it, so potentially good. trine and sextile as other have said.
