Does your 5th house describe the mood and ambience you need to become attracted? I'm specifically interested in the sign you have on the cusp, but I'd be interested in hearing how any planets there impact you too.I have Pisces on the 5th. I like it when a man is sweet with me. It's the Pisces ambience that most triggers my romantic side. I'm talking pre-relationship, though. Once in a relationship, I'm more versatile. For example, back when I was in high school I was on a bus returning from a field trip. It was late at night and I had fallen asleep. When I woke up, I saw that I had been sleeping with my head on the shoulder of the boy next to me. A boy I didn't even know. I was still about 90% asleep, and I said, "Sorry." And he softly said, "It's ok." It was the combination of his tone, and me being so sleepy, and he smelled good, and he reminded me of my ex, and I'd had a hard year with a broken relationship and friends' deaths, and I hadn't felt anything really beautiful and sweet touching my heart for a long time...and in that moment, I felt so cozy and cared for by this guy... that I got turned on and started kissing him. And we ended up having a nice, sweet slow make out session during the rest of the ride. With a guy whose name I didn't even know! Not like me, but my 5th house Pisces was happy. I've always needed that moment with a guy - where the tone between us would feel sweet & loving - before I'd be turned on, or even recognize him as being attracted. I've been oblivious to interest when it's been expressed in a non-Pisces way. How 'bout yous? IP: Logged |

A sex change operation is in the offing, then?? I shiver to think that I might have to take on your Taurus for thine affections Since I've never laid eyes on thy chart, I don't know where your Sun is, my love -- but it's probably in my 4th house because my 5th house cusp is 29 Saggie..... Cappy is intercepted in my 5th, and I've found Earthling energy very attractive all my life -- in a way, this type of elemental energy is what I must aspire to, with my Goat-Node. My son's father is Cap Sun and Moon.....IP: Logged |

It's the time of the month when a sex change sounds most appealing to me. Yes, my Sun is in your 4th. Your Sun is in my 12th, I think. So watery, we are. And so like Yoda, I speak. Is your Moon before or after 9 Pisces? Because if it's after, I can't promise a sex change or commitment, but I'm all for a Greyhound trip, with you as my seat neighbor. Interesting how your 5th is mostly Cap and you've been attracted to that. Now is probably a good time to mention that my Venus is in Cap. IP: Logged |

MVM -Well, I'm ashamed to say that the incident included the good side of Pisces (sweetness), and also the bad (deception). I gave him a fake phone number. I used to do that a lot. I didn't know how to explain how weirdly particular I was about relationships, so I found it easier just to give a fake number. I finally stopped doing that when a guy I had just given a fake number to overheard my friend asking me if the number I'd given him was real. I laughed and said, "Of course not!" The laugh was at myself for being so nutty and my friend for knowing me so well. I didn't know the guy was still around, but he was, and I saw him walk past with a hurt face and I felt like 31 Flavors of Trash and finally stopped doing that. God, Motrin makes me so yacky. LOL Jane - I used to give a fake name, I understand. Your topic starter was a sweet story, makes me wish I didn't have Gemini on the 5th house cusp.IP: Logged |

31 Flavors of Trash Let's see, my 5th cusp is Leo (my sun's there too). I don't even know how to describe this. There's a weird innocence to most of the men I become attracted to... they're optimistic and sweet, and child-like. If I see that optimism and innocence, I start to ego-stroke like crazy, because I love seeing him smile. I don't know if that even makes any sense.
I was dating a really sweet Leo for a few months. He was a Leo across the board, had a real rugged sweetness about him. I remember leaving his house one morning. My car was parked in his driveway, and he was walking me out. He was naked. Wearing his eyeglasses. His hair was all messed up, and he kissed my forehead and opened my car door, and I got inside, and started my car. As I was backing out of the driveway, I saw him standing there, waving, naked. And then he scratched his a$$ absent-mindedly and I was filled with all this weird love for him He was so NOT self-conscious, completely unfazed. I think that was what got me.

5th House Ruler Uranus. Uranus square Venus (5) Uranus conj Mars (5)Romance and relationships have to be natural, exciting, intellectually stimulating FOR ME TOO, and the union must go hand in hand with serving a higher purpose for the benefit of humanity through intellectual, creative and artistic contribution. There's nothing that turns me off like being in a relationship with someone who doesn't care about the welfare of humanity's consciousness. Basically, if a guy says "I want to open people's mind's [by words and/or actions] I literally gush, melt and want to get closer. For example: In my previous relationships, the guys never cared for humanity's liberation of self. Those that did something wanted to make people rich, or themselves rich through making other people rich (materially). That turns me off. I am turned on by someone that enriches people's souls and minds. I have never dated a guy who has service to humanity as part of their personality and that's probably why it has never lasted. I require my unions to be a Bonny and Clyde team of we against the world by contributing art to the world, art through music, painting/drawing and the written word because such a union requires original thinking, revolutionary attitudes and challenging social norms. Avant Garde!!! Otherwise, I lose interest very quickly because to me, only a life like the one I described is worth living. Anything else bores me, and I get bored easily so there's nothing more exciting than a pair of taciturn artists/writes/painters/poets who live their lives through inspiration and service to humanity. Like, most of my sexual fantasies involve self-expression through embracing the human condition, like make-up sex, or passionate kissing after seeing and expressing real human emotion. I am most turned on my seeing a man react in a human and raw way. Restraint is not sexy, but I don't like violence either. I am talking about the not so pretty, but natural side of being human, which is romantic to me. IP: Logged |

DTM - Thank you, I feel a little less bad now. I hold grudges against myself for too long, it's psychotic. Gemini on the 5th, you must need some witty banter. That's pretty hot! I love that too. A quick mind, ideas being thrown back and forth, the tempo getting faster and faster until there's an explosion...of laughter. MVM - lol, great story! Leos love to be naked. Your description makes complete sense to me. Leo gets maligned for being self-absorbed drama queens, but it's really about feeling the joy in life. About taking joy in your own identity, shining. So I totally get what you mean about wanting to celebrate him, to stroke him to smileville. IP: Logged |

I have Taurus on my 5th house cusp, but most of my 5th is in Gemini. I guess the Taurus would make Venus my 5th house ruler? My Venus is square Uranus, trine Neptune, sextile Pluto. I really relate to what Unmoved wrote about being in an artistic pair that's all about "original thinking, revolutionary attitudes and challenging social norms."--is that a Venus-Uranus thing? In romance, I love intellectual stimulation, wit, banter, travel, adventure, and BUILD UP. I like a lot of challenging, intense, emotional foreplay. The men I mutually just really love and like and want have all had this almost impossible, paradoxical combination of passionate intensity with frustrating cool aloofness with a secret, totally unexpected, sweet and puppyish side. It is the surprise of their puppy-ness hidden under all that mastery that makes me fall in love. I like to be impressed by my guy. I'm a Leo, so I have trouble relating to anything less than epic passion. I like to be excited. (And, I am really faithful...my last relationship was faithful on both ends and lasted almost 15 years...) I cannot relate at all to people who think it's a GOOD idea to "settle" for anything less ecstacy in work or love--I do not see the point of f--king a nice, pleasant man who you don't find quite as sexy as your favorite movie star, or settling for a daily job that pays the bills that doesn't thrill and inspire you. I feel like you only live once, and you could get hit by a bus tomorrow, and sleepwalking through work and love is a bad idea. Society tries to sucker people into "settling" because there are just too many of us. I like lots of conversation, good food, and sex. All my guys have been really up for fun...if I suggest something ("Hey, let's go check out this new, weird band." "You should read this lesbian poet." "Let's drop everything and move to Italy tomorrow with backpacks and no money!") They're all, "Great idea!!" They need to believe in good luck and a benevolent universe. The idea that daily life can be great and not mundane. IP: Logged |

That's interesting, the guy I'm seeing now has Libra on his 5th house cusp square Uranus and trine Pluto (he's also got Pluto in his 5th). The intellectual area in general seems to be a huge deal.We talk politics, and architecture, and, for some reason.... city planning I don't know how we keep going back to this subject again and again, but it's like we don't shut up about it. And half the time he looks like he's melting when we talk, so it's really amusing. But it's also great - I was raised by a family that always had over-the-top dinner parties and heated after-dinner political debates. I love the stimulation. Food, wine, and debate/discussion....yummy IP: Logged |

5th house cusp is Gemini Venus in the 5th, in Gemini Ruler, Mercury in the 3rd house in TaurusI HAVE to be able to laugh with a guy, hard. If we can laugh til we cry together, he's got me. Wit and a sense of humor is really important to me. We've got to be able to play, joke and be childlike together. I like a guy who can be a clown, lighthearted and quick. IP: Logged |

LOL, Lucia, true. But it's almost always ME that comes back to city planning ... and he just run with it, until we're an hour in and have planned how all US cities should look and function LOL It's like imaginary Legos EDIT: my Uranus trine his Mercury by like 1 or 2 degrees, so that might be it. I say the most random things with him, moreso than usual. We were taking a nap together about a week ago and I was starting to dream, then opened my eyes and blurted out: "Fried green tomatoes." because I was dreaming of cooking them. wtf? IP: Logged |

I have Leo in 5th house, no planets. I must be romantically daft. I need a man to pretty much put it up in skywriting that he likes me. And then I think there must be something wrong with him (for being attracted to me, not for the skywriting).I guess the one thing for me is that I need him to come to me. I'll put out the signals, but he has to come all the way over and get me. IP: Logged |

Great question. A little heart there, for the theme. But Aries rules my 5th house. I can get impatient, unsubtle and demanding in this area of life. Ruler Mars is in the 3rd house, Square Venus/Mercury, rulers of the 7th and 8th. It doesn't take much for my hubby to make me feel in the mood for romance. I expect him to jump to it. Given the Mars 3rd connection with Venus/Mercury, it will make sense that I am going to go with heartfelt communication as the answer to your question. I like men who aren't afraid to express their vulnerabilities. Even better if they have a thrusting personality. As it were. I like someone who will tell me to shut up if I get out of hand. Quietly but firmly works fine, they don't have to get all cave man. IP: Logged |

There's a caveat to the following, which is that you really have to be a good person. Talk to me. Express yourself unrestrained. The more I know I don't have to be careful in what I say, the more fun we'll have. (If you're not a good person, and you express yourself unrestrained, then I'll be turned off pretty instantly.)I agree with T on the need to be able to laugh and be kid-like. Virgo on the 5th cusp Mercury in Sag in the 7th is my chart ruler Mercury conjunct Venus opposite Saturn IP: Logged |

Hmm, I guess I like it calm, sensual and musical. Actually warmth and sensuality are a real turn on. I definitely do not like too showy or even arrogant men. Deep and intense is fine, trustworthy is a must, as well as humour, which is very important to me; also being tolerant and openminded.I guess I am a bit boring, as I do not really like parties or loud celebrations, but I can become ecstatic about a nightly walk by the beach under a star-covered sky. Cusp 5th house in Taurus, no planets in there. Ruler Venus in Capricorn in 1st house square Pluto. It also is on the midpoint of Jupiter/URanus and has wide sextiles (5 degree) to both of them IP: Logged |
