Hello everyone,

I was just curious if anyone here has had any experience with Sun- Pluto aspects in their composite charts. More specifically Sun Square Pluto. I've read about it and it seems as though power struggles can be the major difficulty with this combination, but I'm more interested in learning from the aspect so that the relationship can actually thrive & flourish.

Does anyone have any experience with this aspect and if so could you talk about how it affected the relationship and what techniques were used to learn & gain the most from it so that it eventually (if ever) worked to you & your relationship's favor.

Here's a snap shot of our composite

Thanks for your help!

I'n not too sure about in the composite. But I have an almost exact sun pluto conj im my natal so I have these aspects in synastry with a lot of people. The conj I enjoy, it adds intensity and depth to the relationship which I thrive on. The square "can" indicate enmity between two people and I have personally seen evidence of this. I would take the whole chart into comparison though.

It can also lead you to transform your lives together, it just depends on if you can handle it or not. Like Scrappydog said if you have it in your own natal chart chances are you'll respond better and accept it. If not it can be rather a rough time. I only had Sun/Pluto once with someone in the composite, and there were many changes that occured in our relationship, and alot of fighting about it(he didn't like change)..and with myself I didn't mind all the upheavel as I have natal Sun conjunction Pluto. Pluto likes to tear, rip and burn away the old very quickly, adapt with him or get out of the way lol!

Neither of us have Sun-Pluto aspects, but we both have Mars-Pluto in our charts,(Trine for him, conjunction for me). I am well acquainted with Sun-Pluto as Pluto pulverized my Sag Sun about 3 years back, it turned me into a entirely different person. I'm just curious as to how a stressful aspect works within a relationship & how to harness that energy

It can be harnessed, it can be rough but also depends on the other things you have going on in the composite. So far the Moon conjunct Jupiter in the 4th might cushion some of it, you two might be more tolerant of each others shortcomings. Todd would be a really good person to ask to read everything that's going on within the composite.

I can offer only purely subjective experience with this composite aspect - I have it with my partner.

Specifically we have composite sun 22'Cap + mercury 18'Cap conjunction in the 2nd square by Pluto 21'Lib 10/11th.

I wont sugar coat it - it manifests itself with us as this compelling drive to psychologically and mentally completely dismantle each other and strip away everything that was present before the relationship began. It can be very harsh and
unforgiving to be stripped of all you built up around yourself before you entered into this Pluto-sun square relationship.

There's much digging into the deepest recesses of each other's psyches, what motives and drives you, and if you do not share willingly with each other, then theres always coercion, power-plays and epic confrontations that leave you both completely shattered,m but if you make it through the process you do become stronger, and the level of closeness and true intimacy is unparalleled.

It was the hardest in the beginning, when you realize that your relationship has this underlying tension that can act out in very chthonic and destructive ways if it is not being honored.

Brutal honesty becomes a currency.

The house and sign placements are not to be ignored.

In this case, the 2nd+Capricorn/10th-Libra tension aptly describes what issues activate this aspect in our relationship.
We are both career-driven, in very different fields that are not easily reconciled, and our separate career needs often threaten or take away from the security (2nd) of our relationship in very concrete ways (cap) - for example he often travels abroad for months on end, and during these times I am unable to travel away form home as I someone has to look after the property and all the accumulated 'belongings' (he's worse than any cancer hoarder you've ever met).

As I also have fieldwork components to what I do, you can see that working out, balancing the responsibilities (lib/cap) and planning meticulously (cap) how we can do what we need to do career wise/publicly (10th) so that our resources are taken care of (2nd) is the number one battle field that
the pluto-sun square acts itself out in.
The outcome of this often causes changes in our relationship.

It's not always fun, but it certainly isn't without it's highlights.

wow, redstar, great description!

we have composite pluto sextile sun, with pluto being on the 12th house cusp (so i believe it is mostly interpreted there) and sun in our 2nd. it feels like we are both trying to stablize something that comes from neptunian depths. sun is also conjunct neptune, and pluto conjunct saturn, so that effect seems to be mimicked there.

i find our relationship to be extremely transformational for both of us, but it is much gentler than everything redstar described, though with the same sort of result. it does seem to take some work (not as easy and automatic as a trine) but we *definitely* tend to work our ways into eachothers' inner depths rather compulsively. it is an odd thing because we don't really talk about that but we both feel it and mostly welcome it from the other. it adds a real depth of intimacy and of experiencing something profound together, even if it's not always super comfortable.

I think I have noticed the ferreting of our deepest thought, fears & drives. I think it comes as a surprise to both of us. Almost like a delayed reaction to a smack in the face, where there are moments of being stunned by the question or the other's brass, only to be compelled to answer whole heartedly & honestly because we do not want the risk of losing the other.

Can this aspect also bring about mild possessiveness? Prior to this relationship neither of us felt possessive people, but now neither of us have qualms stating how worked up we get when we feel our territory is being impinged upon. Its a fiercely protective feeling.

Woah city glad you found it relevant.
Yeah that working through each other's depth really took me by surprise in the beginning.
The sextile sounds much nicer.

One word that I would thing is the opposite of Sun-pluto composite aspects is 'comfortable'.
Especially the hard ones.

Great description - as a delayed reaction to a slap in the face.

Yes to the possessiveness. Be thankful it is mild
Before this relationship, neither of us was
even remotely possessive (both have uranus-venus aspects), but this relationship seems to generate possessive behavior.
It is one of the effect I hate of us being together, and try and change in myself all the time.

Sun-pluto seems to evoke in us very primal
responses such as fear of loss/change, possessiveness of the other, controlling behavior, and makes us face infinite depth within ourselves, and in each other as a couple.
