I've been spending a lot of time analyzing my SR chart for the upcoming year, looking for clues as to what's going to happen career wise. I'm contemplating relocating around March of next year, and doing so may require a career change. I've also been feeling led to write a book, which I've already started.

Here is my Solar Return chart for 2009/2010:

And Natal Chart:

From what I can tell, it does look this will be year with a heavy emphasis on career. For once, I'm exempt from obsessing about love! (I don't see any promising relationship stuff at all). I am hoping that 8th house Mars does not convey a crisis with illness (Mars in the 6th house natally)?

I know the Moon conjunct MC means something very public as related to career, but I'm not sure what.

I guess what I'd like to know is:

--Is there anything indicative of relocation? (I see the 9th house activity but I'm not so much interested in overseas...the move I'm contemplating is regional)

--The activity in the 9th house is also publishing related (yes?), so is this a promising aspect for a novel being completed and published? And yes, starting graduate school might be on the agenda also.

--Tons of career stuff. I feel that there will be lots of upheaval in this area, but of my own doing (no termination or layoff). My SR Sun is conjunct Saturn...is that an indication of increased reponsibility, authority?

--Is that first house Pluto indicative of intense personal transformation?

I'd like a little help interpreting these aspects, especially since I will be entering my first Saturn return next month. I feel the combination of Solar and Saturn return convey an intense period, but for the good (if I don't fight it). Thus the restless I've been feeling...I am also clueless on how to overlay the SR chart with the natal so I know I'm missing some key comparisons between the two. Help!

Nothing looks too bad in the SR Chart.
In the equal house system, you have True Node in 5th Leo.
Leo is blessed in SR Chart with Venus in 9th, trine Galactic Centre.
10th House of Career has Sun conj Saturn in Virgo, this is great for dilligent, hard working yet ambitious career. Moon is in 10th too and True Node is in the 2nd House, ergo you will be helped in cash flow.

Thank you very much IQ! That sounds promising and that my feelings that I should be putting my energy into my career goals are on track (finally--something besides relationships!) I am REALLY pleased that you see auspicious signs for how my finances will go--that would be a relief.

Anyone else, please feel free to comment or jump in. Thanks!

Uranus in the 4th house can mean abrupt changes in home, or an unexpected living arrangement. Moves are usually to someplace totally new. 9th house activity isn't necessarily moving overseas, it can be domestic travel or travel for education.

Love - Your intuition is good as far as this isn't a year for romance per se. Not that it couldn't happen, but it isn't on your solar return's wish list. That must be tough as you have sun in 7th in natal, so your natural inclination is towards relationships of all types and you also have north node in the 5th so romance is a big need for you. Also, a solar return Venus in 9th is a rather carefree position in addition to the Gemini on the descendent.

Moon can be short-term, but very fulfilling emotionally. If you do move, it might be shortly after a raise or promotion. This is a good solar return aspect for bosses liking you and for people in genera thinking highly of you.

I am hoping that 8th house Mars does not convey a crisis with illness (Mars in the 6th house natally)?

Mars in the 8th is a good place. It's in a water sign plus in the traditional house of old friend Scorpio. There will be a lot of energy for you available for 8th house activities. Now is a good time for you to be involved with your mother's lineage, her side of the family, someone with high intuition that you know through your mother. Those people will be beneficial to you. There is something with inherited maternal-based knowledge here for you.

quote:
Is that first house Pluto indicative of intense personal transformation?

You already are scheduled to have an intense personal transformation with your Saturn return. Saturn has made the reservations and packed your bags, so you just show up at the airport. Pluto will be there to wash your laundry and psyche after you get back home. Your natal has Pluto in 8th with backup from Mercury, so you and Pluto are on friendly terms. Your Mercury solar return square with Pluto might make you think bad things of Pluto, but Pluto is not out to get you this year. It will clean out the dredges post-Saturn vacation, but in a good way.

Anything you do with that 9th house solar return Venus will be susceptible to an energy drain from the Neptune opposition. If you go back to school, you will have to keep your Neptune happy, as in go back for an art. For publishing/writing, I personally look at the North node and Mercury placements in the natal and then compare to the solar return. If you want to write, look at mainly your natal node and Mercury and think about how you can incorporate them. You have 5th house, 8th house, Libra and Leo. So, how can you mesh those into a book? With Mercury in 10th, it's a good time to "git 'er done" as they say. If you think of the writing as a career that will help. Otherwise, if it's a hobby then it might be tossed aside by Saturn. Saturn & Sun combo are here to work on your career this year. That's your major big thing. Also, your reputation. And your secondary thing is school. Sag ascendant solar return makes a good student. Just be sure to study whatever makes your Neptune happy. It's your natal chart ruler, so you should keep it happy regardless.

Sun conjunct Saturn means having access to discipline. But do you see Uranus opposing Sun/Saturn? That throws an unexpected twist on things. I feel like this is going to put your ideas of career to a test and when you are done it won't resemble your previous ideas. It will be better.

Intriguing! I definitely think a move "somewhere" is certain. I might even buy a house. For me, "unexpected living arrangements" has always meant ending up back at home or someone staying with me much longer than they or I anticipated. I hope it's not that kind of unexpected!

Yeah, I knew that but considering I'm just starting off something new with someone, I'm not sure how I feel about that...I will take your word for it that it doesn't mean that relationship is doomed, just that it won't be my end all and be all--I can live with that.

This jives with what I have up my sleeve

Hmmm. The only person with high intuition that I really knew of on my mother's side was my grandmother (her mother), who passed away a few years ago. But 8th house is the house of death, right? She and I were extremely close in life and she was quite psychic--she has visited me since she passed over. If she were to have some influence in my life this year, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I'm ready (I think!). I don't fear my Saturn return like some--I get along well with my Saturn, even though it can be a pain at times. It is quite cozy there in the 7th house, which also houses my Sun. Besides, Saturn is exalted in both the 7th house and Libra, so it is about as happy as a Saturn will get! And yes, Pluto is my bud. I am definitely a Plutonic person--we understand each other quite well. I feel good about that 1st house SR Pluto.

quote:

Actually the book I'm writing does incorporate those energies fairly well, I think. It's all coming together!

As far as a writing career...that's the plan! I would love to do it professionally. I'm willing to exercise as much patience as required. And as far as career/school/Neptune, I currently work in higher education. I will either stick with that, go back to school for something entirely different (nursing), or go to graduate school for something criminology related (working with juveniles, drug addicts, or forensics--I have worked with all three on the side). Since all of those areas are either service-oriented, ruled by Neptune, or both, then I think I'm good in this area.

Also, ever since I discovered that Neptune was my chart ruler, that has made so much sense in my life, as far how incredibly sensitive I am, my struggle with escapism, paranormal experiences, etc. Ah Neptune!

Well that could explain why I still don't know what I want to do with myself as far as this big "career move" that I feel coming...so many options...I'll take "better" anyday though!

Thank you so much Musette--that was incredibly helpful and I really appreciate the time you put into that.
