i am not sure if this is related astrologically but i guess i'll throw this out there. i've found male friends of mine who are scorpio sun's and/or have very heavy water (in particular scorpio) planets not like it when i kid about myself dying.

let me make it clear that it's more along the lines of me going omg my mom and dad are gonna kill me! that sort of kidding around. or like when i'm using hyperbole like when i had an allergic reaction to something i ate (not serious) and i was like omg i'm gonna die! or when it snowed and i was like my daddy won't let me drive in the snow because i'll probably crash the car and die.

i always thought of scorpio people as being not fearful of death or being okay with dark, twisted humor. i don't think i'm being dark or twisted when something happens and i go omg my parents are gonna kill me.

i myself am a cancer, but i have few water planets.

thoughts anyone...?

In my experience I've never known a Scorpio that fears death, in fact the ones I know seem to flirt with it at various times in their lives.
I could give you about 7 or 8 examples, but that would only be 7 or 8 Scorpios that I personally know.

I have Mercury in Scorpio and I talk about death alot, write about it, and think about it.
I also use the words, so and so are gonna kill me, or if I have a headache I'll say OMG, it hurts so bad I think I'll kill myself, and yeah it is not so well received.

But I'm only kidding and over-exaggerating as is my way. I think some people just take themselves too seriously and should lighten up. Death is part of life, we all experience it, it is painful, but it happens, why does it have to be shoved under the bed like some dirty little secret?
I never got that.
Maybe partly superstition or people believing in self fulfilling prophecy.
I don't know.

I used to be very afraid of death as a child and even more so as a teenager and a young adult. For that reason I used to talk about death all the time, joke about with a twisted sense of humor. It was only when I overcame my fear of death that I got over my obsession with death. I think that for most Scorpios (and for the rest of the world I guess but even more so for us), it's the ultimate mystery. The unsolved puzzle, and that's why we find it such a terrifying thing (and at the same time we idealise it as well). I believe that's because most Scorpios are unable to believe in the afterlife being so ultimately pessimistic by nature (realistic they call it), that they're unable to believe that death could be the beginning of something else and not the end. For that, is why I think some may find the subject too much to talk about. Also it's OK for them to to joke about themselves dying, but they cannot bare to hear people they care for joke in the same manner, because it's not their own deaths they fear the most but it's the deaths of their loved ones.

We are all going to die.. it can't be that bad. The dying process is not very pleasant though. Thankfully it doesn't last forever.

Scorpios are not usually scared of death, the same way they're not usually scared of sex.

My Scorpio boyfriend doesn't seem to be concerned about dying at all.

He doesn't like it, however, when I joke about myself dying or try to talk about it seriously in regards to my final wishes.

He says he has to die before me.

thank you for everyone's replies.

with the ones i know, yes as Máni pointed out, it seems with my experience too that it's okay if they talk about death or not worry about it, but if i even kid about it i either get scolded or they do or say something for good luck that i won't die.

the one who scolded me actually said why do you say that? he seemed really paranoid or freaked out when i was obviously kidding. i find these people to be a tad overprotective as well.
