Is there anything in a chart that could indicate vegetarianism?

I think the reason (there are many) for adopting this vega–lifestyle has to be considered when looking for a chart-indicator.

In my case I really CAN’T eating meat because I feel it’s disgusting to eat something that feels, lives, relieves nature and consists of flesh, blood & bones like human beings. So, for me it feels much the same as cannibalisme. I do not have a real idealistic view or at least my vegetarianism didn’t develop by it. I was very young when I discoverd the dead of animals in meat and than I got this lugubrious associations of their going with flesh & fell through meat mills. I cannot relate the dirt I felt/feel to a real idealistic view..
(I’m vegetarian from the age of 6/7, my parents always ate meat).

In my chart the Ruler of the Ascendant (Virgo) = exact conjunct the ascendant, square to Neptune = at least overactive imagination!

What are your thoughts about vega-indicators?

Perhaps a sag moon, since they really love animals.

I've never looked at veggie friends charts, but most have been water signs - like double pisces or gemini with pisces ascendant. I would look for aspects that bring empathy.

Although,I was a vegetarian for a few years and it had nothing to do with empathy, just health. So, I guess you would have to consider the person's motivation for being a vegetarian and then look to their chart for corresponding aspects.

I think that it would be impossible to see in a natal chart

strong water, Neptune energy runs in my family. well..we're a family of meat eaters
my maternal grandfather with Sun in Cancer and Moon in Pisces worked as a butcher before. He was a heavy meat eater.

the same aspects for vegetarians might also be the same aspects for people that are into the healing arts and metaphysical subjects.

I have a shaman friend that eats meat. He told me that he needs his protein.

There are people with strong Virgo influences that aren't vegetarians.

I have a Virgo Ascendant myself.

also my Sun is in the Virgo constellation even though my Sun is in the tropical zodiac. Virgo was strongly linked to the Greek goddess of the harvest,Demeter by the Greeks.

Ceres is the dwarf planet that is connected to food,nurturing,parent-child matters. It was named after the Roman Goddess of the harvest.

I'd check aspects to Ceres. Some astrologers believe that hard aspects to Ceres could indicate possibility of eating disorders.

might be possible that a good deal of this could be from influence of blood type?

its my understanding o types are natural meat consumers?

do you know you're blood types?

im o, i'll always eat meat, but if i became vegetarian it would be for health reasons.

I am a bit skeptical of the blood type-diet connection, but I am O positive.

There was a post similar to this a while ago. I think everyone came to the conclusion that Virgo influences or Pisces influences, especially Virgo or Pisces Moon, tend to be vegetarians.

But it is really hard to say, because it is very popular to be vegetarian or vegan in general. I used to be a devout Vegetarian for about 4 years, I generally still am, but I occasionally eat birds. I also have Pisces Moon and Jupiter, the ruler of my ASC. is in the 6th house in Gemini, not that really has anything to do with it...

shrugs

Moon in Pisces square Neptune, and I eat meat.I never had a problem with it. Heck, could eat a whole big porkchop by the time I was 2.

I don't know why people would come to the conclusion about Pisces in regards to being vegetarians.

vegetarians can have strong influence of all zodiac signs.

actual fish actually eat other fish. shark is a fish, and it's a natural predator that will eat not only fish but some mammals too.

People are vegetarian for different reasons. Health (virgo), environmental/social (aquarius), ethical ( sag), emphatic ( pisces).

im blood type A and find it very easy to be vegetarian, for a decade now with no slip ups, and with me being the only one in the family.

do a google advanced search for the previous thread, there were lots of insights there.

Way too many variables to isolate certain aspects for this one, I think.

I stopped eating meat when I was 7, because I almost choked on steak and developed a phobia of things with a meat texture. I started having fish again 10 years later, but other than that, I still don't eat meat.

For me, it's not connected to animal rights so much as health (although I do love animals). I've always had an extremely restricted diet due to food allergies, and I've been eating a raw food diet since I was 16.

Very little water in my chart and nothing in Pisces or Virgo -- lthough Neptune rules my 6th house, and my chart ruler (Venus) is conjunct Jupiter in the 6th/square Neptune in the 3rd.

I agree you can't see this in a chart. I have a ton of sag, along with a sag moon, and I eat meat.

I know someone with a pisces moon and other pisces planets, and they eat meat.

I agree with Glaucus that it's impossible to tell from a chart.

Plenty of people like animals. Some like to see them from behind glass. Some whilst roaming free. Some on a plate served with gravy and mash.

I agree that you can't tell just from a chart, at all.

But the die-hard veggies I know (whose charts I know) do have lots of Sag and Pisces going on, most often moons.

Also some Virgo or 6th house stuff--maybe the health angle.

I have Moon in Pisces (square Neptune with 1'23 orb, oppose a Saturn/Neptune midpoint with 17 minutes of arc), and so did my maternal grandfather and my father (had a stationary retrograde Neptune along with that). I am a natural meat eater, and so were both of them.
I already talked about my grandfather. My father also liked meat. He even liked crawdads. He was from Louisiana (born in New Orleans and raised in Lake Charles),and he grew up eating creole food.

I am vegetarian, and have been leaning towards being more vegan lately...........I am a Taurus Sun, Aries Moon, Aries Rising, Venus in Taurus, Mars in Virgo, Virgo Stellium in the 6th, Sun, Moon + Venus all in the 1st house.
