Weekly Weather October 12, 2009Apologies for the late posting. It is a three day holiday in the States, with Monday off.
It will be a busy week ahead of us as quite a few changes take place.
Jupiter stations and starts to move direct, at 17 Aquarius. He’s moving forward and picking up the story from March 17- 22, 2008 when he was last at this degree about to enter his shadow and June 11 - 17, 2009 when he went retrograde. Expect a cosmic wrap up of sorts! Right after the wrap up, forward we go! The Jolly Giant pull or push us forward like a big red dog leading us to our next set of adventures. Follow the big red guy’s advices ~ take the risks! Give yourself permission to go for it!
Ceres enters Scorpio on Monday so the maternal or nurturing energy makes us pay a price or asks us for what it is worth. Scorpio often involves a loss when it arrives on the scene. Ceres in Scorpio is quite fertile so pregnancies can and do bloom when she is in the realm of Scorpio’s transformative and fertile energy. This is the dark mother energy, dark goddess energy ~ the dark side of maternity. The ending energy of Mother Nature. We often hear of Mothers doing Scorpio things to their children under this energy. I am bring my kitten to the vet to be altered~ a life changing event for him! In the northern hemisphere, we become aware of the season of Fall, with all the endings and losses of the plants to the arriving cold night’s frost.
Venus enters Libra, a sign she love, love, loves. Peace reigns. Diplomacy blooms. Criticism drops off. Partnerships form. The world becomes a bit more gracious and not nearly so snarky, biting or derisive. (finally!) We wrap up the information received during Mercury’s retrograde dance with Saturn, Uranus and Pluto as Venus traces his steps this week. Now that you know what you know, what do you want to DO about it.
Venus’ change of signs will change the energy in the world in a very profound way. She’s in charge of the Sun, so the criticisms will drop as the desire to get along increase. She’s ruling Mercury in Libra right now, so he’ll adopt a more conciliatory, diplomatic and other oriented tone. Mercury rules Virgo, where Saturn is still living. Venus’ change in how she speaks with Mercury will shift how HE speaks to both Saturn and Pluto. Saturn and Pluto now answer to a Venus ruled Mercury ruling Virgo. It will completely soften their tone too.
The bad news is Venus will square Pluto on the world axis, probably causing a shake up in the money or financial sectors mid-week. It will be a harbinger of what we will be working with when Saturn gets his butt into Libra at the end of the month.
We have an active and driven New Moon in Libra bringing up information about our new adventure. The New Moon also presages the upcoming Saturn and Pluto closing square that we will be working with during the upcoming year through next September. Watch for what story or information is revealed or begun under the initiating light of the lunation as it will be part of the story of the year. You will be working with that energy in combination with the stories that permanently transformed the existing structures in your life in November 1982, 1994 and 2001. A profound structural change in your life is about to arrive! Your job is to UNDERSTAND the more profound focus and purpose of it as it moves you and your soul along the path of your life.
The big exciting news this week is that Mars enters Leo. Mars changing signs is normally not a big deal. He changes every other months or so, entering into a new kind of energy that adjusts how he takes action. For the next eight months Mars will be in Leo. So instead of a month or two, we’ll be working with Mars in Leo energy for a long, long time. On Friday, Mars enters Leo. Pay attention to what goes on or takes place in your Leo house or in your life around the males or taking action part of your being. You can also watch your Aries or Scorpio houses to find additional information about Mars’ upcoming eight months in Leo.
Mars will go retrograde in Leo on December 20, 2009. The events and actions that take place between this Friday and December 20, will under go major revisions while Mars is retrograde. Mars is retrograde between December 20, 2009 and March 11, 2010. When Mars turns direct on March11, 2010, the path will be clear, the revisions will be finished and the direction you are going to take will be clear.
Mars retrograde particularly screws up or plays around with the heads of the men in our lives. Warn the various men in your life to pay attention to what goes down in their lives over the next weeks until Mid-December. Mars will outline the area he’s going to want them (and us gals too) to adjust and revise. Similar in feeling to the “strange problem” men seem to have with asking for directions when lost while driving, Mars retrograde is a tough energy to work with.
Retreat is often viewed as “losing” instead of strategic. Retrogrades are retreats! Mars scoots right back across the patch of heavens he so confidently crossed just a bit before. Mars retrograde is the time when we need to make a strategic retreat. Our battle plans or business plan or strategy is not working the way we anticipated. Add to the retrograde mix a strategic retreat while Mars is in a blustery, fixed, bold and proud energy like Leo, well, you get the picture. It probably isn’t going to be all that much fun for the forward charging, yang energy of Mars. So watch what comes knocking on your door when Mars enters Leo at the end of the week.
Raven Kaldera in his book, Myth Astrology, compares Mars in Leo to the Egyptian Lion Goddess, Sekhmet, fierce, gracious, regal and deadly. Mars in Leo is an aggressive placement with a great love for showmanship combined with a temper. It has the potential to be a great warrior, fighting tirelessly for a cause but one must learn that righteous rage is not the emotion to carry with you into battle because it impairs clear eyed and sound judgment. It craves adulation, adoration and praise.
Monday Jupiter is stopped in the sky, turning to move direct tomorrow. His pause makes us pay attention to our higher beliefs and spiritual needs. In the States, it is Columbus day, a three day holiday designed to encourage us to enjoy the shift in seasons. Ceres enters Scorpio today starting a deeper season as a Crone energy of endings or deep creation. Scorpio rules sex and death so Ceres entrance into the Scorpion’s realm offers her Crone face a dark, life ending energy. It offers her maternal face a creative, life beginning energy. Both are part and parcel of Mother Earth. Moon in Leo opposes Neptune as the closing aspect so watch the dreams and illusions that appear today and Tuesday. Part of them are to inspire you. Don’t believe ALL of them but embrace the concept of the vision or dream. Uranus is shaking up unions, marriage, partnerships, home and hearth with easy and flowing energy. Agree to change. You can if you want to. Change to get the love you want.
Tuesday Jupiter stations. Venus is very active. She’s following the same path that Mercury took last week. Last Friday she fought with Uranus as females erupted or broke apart with a start. Now Venus joins with Saturn to start a new cycle and schmoozes with Mars in late Cancer to get him to do her yet another favor. Venus is quite the delegator lately. She also is getting good a speaking her mind and asking for what she wants. It actually isn’t that hard, she’s been finding, to ask for what she wants. You’ll get clear on an old pattern today as Mercury joins with Athena in strategic Libra. Notice the pattern or strategy and file it away for future use. Venus’ union with Saturn is a great time to say “No, we are NOT going to be doing that any more. The new rules are ….” As rooms full of energies are about to shift AND Venus and Saturn are at the last dregs of Virgo, there is a Terrific opportunity to change patterns once and for all! Go for it. Announce what you want going forward. Declare your vision of what you want in your future. Say it loud and proud! Ask! ESPECIALLY ask or announce if it is a behavior that another person has been doing that is completely driving you crazy.
Wednesday Moon in Virgo has excellent closing aspects with a sextile to Mars to launch detailed projects that are near and dear to your heart out into the world today and tomorrow. Rough drafts or practice runs do simply great. Send the final version out on Friday‘s fabulous aspects. Venus changes signs today and changes SO MUCH in our world. The energy shift will feel very, very profound. All the stuff that was hanging out and answering to Mercury gets softer and kinder. This is also a market shifting energy so expect major stock market or financial market news through the end of the week. Mars fights with Jupiter by declination ~ Jupiter going direct puffs up the fight quite a bit. Expect bluster and fear ~ not a time for bold steps as people will over react as they are on edge with all the shifting energy. It is a keep your mouth shut if you can’t say something nice kind of day.
Thursday Venus squares Pluto taking stock of the path Mercury’s been traveling since mid August. Venus Pluto closing squares are often psychological in nature and not the pretty or fun days in the therapist’s office. You can clear a lot of old stuff out today but also recognize the energy isn’t as kind or nice as it could be. There is a bit of shame involved with the energy today. Just keep reminding yourself that you and everyone else on this earth is human. Humans have foibles, flaws and do silly, stupid things.
Those are all part of being human. If you were supposed to be perfect, you wouldn’t be here on good old imperfect earth. You’d be floating on a cloud some place. So give yourself a break. Give the other guy a break too. It is a GREAT day to get stuff out into the world and do things. The closing aspects are excellent even if the getting there is a bit fraught with challenges. Your instincts about what will be seen as nurturing versus meddling are wrong today. You will say something that is taken completely wrong if you attempt to nurture inappropriately. MYOB as my mother used to say.
Friday Moon in Libra pacifies and solidifies the swirling emotional energy a bit just in time for Mars to go into Leo. Mars shifting from security based water into fire breathing dragon fire is a profound shift. Make sure to notice what was going on in your life yesterday, today and tomorrow ~ this is what you are going to be dealing with for the next 8 months. VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTICE WHAT GOES ON! Moon in Libra connects with Venus and lets her know they are in sync. The jarring energy of the middle part of the week softens. Sun’s trine to Neptune and inconjunct to Uranus causes emotional and psychological turbulence that change brings. We get anxious either before, during or after a change. Today can feel a bit anxious. Still there are lovely closing aspects to get things out the door and off into the world.
Saturn’s day finds Libra moon in a very fine shape. She’s singing. This should be a lovely day for all sorts of things that make you happy and help your heart sign. Do things that encourage a sense of joy and abundance in your life.
Sunday the Sun squares the Nodes. It is time for a choice or an opportunity for more information about what you want to do in the future. It isn’t right or wrong. It is time to choose. Mercury has a supportive aspect to Mars suggesting the idea is simply BRILLIANT and you should proceed with it. It will, of course, not be straight sailing (Mars is going to go retrograde after all) but it is progress. Mars is inconjunct Pluto so a fast moving argument can seemingly come out of no where. Remember to PRAISE or NOTICE MARS. He does these dramatic scenes or fights to make you notice him. Make the adjustments you need to make quietly in your home. Mundane:
I love watching that Jupiter Saturn Aspect in Barack Obama’s chart. Jupiter brings good news or events while Saturn brings difficult news or events. Folks I know with that aspect find $10 and lose an earring ~ Jupiter / Saturn ~ good not so good. So here we have President Obama being asked to send more troops into Afghanistan, a surge of some 60,000 American Soldiers. It was a war largely neglected by the Bush Administration who preferred to invade Iraq to take over their Oil. Afghanistan has a LONG, LONG history of NOT being conquered or controlled by outside invaders. Some of his staff are counseling caution. Others are saying more troops are absolutely necessary. That is definitely a Saturn moment, full of responsibility we might want to avoid but that he has to face. And what happens? He wins the Nobel Peace Prize ~ Jupiter in Aquarius ~ recognition from the outer world that his promised approach to negotiate and cooperate is appreciated and valued. Gotta love it!
Roman Polanski was denied bail, and deemed a flight risk, so he is still in the Swiss prison. The Saturn Uranus opposition is active here for your viewing pleasure. While many celebrities and famous people have urged leniency, regular folks have largely weighed in on the “Nope, let him go to jail” side. The Saturn Uranus oppositions seems to be shaping up as a class issue this time ~ rules that apply to the rest of us should apply to ALL of us, regardless of status, power or powerful and influential friends.
Brooke Astor’s son, Anthony Marshall, was found guilty of 14 counts of stealing his mother’s money and forging papers and changes to her will while she was mentally deteriorating prior to her death. I haven’t talked much about it but Pluto in Capricorn will make us work with or face what we want to do about end of life care for ourselves and other folks deteriorating due to old age. The baby boomers are getting old! The Pluto in Cancer folks are getting a Pluto opposition to their Pluto. Brooke is the poster child for the old age component of Pluto’s journey through Capricorn while Bernie Madoff was for the greed and theft part.
Brooke was a NYC philanthropist who married Astor money and then gave away oodles of the big bucks she inherited. Her son, Anthony Marshall, from a prior marriage, was not high on her list nor was his third wife, her daughter-in-law, Charlene. I had to wonder at her son’s Karma as all the nasty things his mother said about him to other people were discussed in open court and reported breathlessly in the tabloids. His two sons testified against him. One son actually turned his father into the authorities after contacting Brooke’s rich society and powerful friends for support. Tony Marshall preyed on his elderly demented mother’s worst fears ~ poverty. She had $160 million in the bank yet Tony told her she didn’t have enough to buy new dresses. Tony did that so she would agree to sell her $20 million dollar painting instead of giving it to the museum as she promised. Next up is the fight over the will and the money ~ Saturn moves into Libra ~ as the last codicils signed by Brooke were deemed forgeries.

Anne answers: Probably a decent sized correction this week. Venus changes signs and squares Pluto. Mars triggers the eclipse degree and changes signs. Out of insecurity/ security and into bluffing and puffing. Jupiter shifts direction so the "recovery is here" stuff will lose air and drop sharply. The news won't be as bad as it could be. The bad news is end of the month, October 29/30 through middle of November.

Anne answers: Saturn is the planet that indicates the end of the way, things or life. He's traditionally looked at as a Malefic who describes what will end the matter at hand. In human beings, that would be the disease that could or will end their life.
When we have our second Saturn return, it CAN (but doesn’t always) come to us in the form of the illness that we're going to work with in our lifetime as we face our third Saturn cycle. Very often people get the illnesses, cancer, heart, bone, breathing, etc, described by their Saturn by sign and house placement. Astrologers look at Saturn as a health planet, knowing it describes the weaker parts of the body or the areas that will show stress from having lived a long life.
Saturn’s recent trip through Virgo brought diseases of the digestive system ~ pancreatic, liver, stomach, intestinal cancer ~ to the news. Libra’s in charge of kidneys, diabetes, lower back, and balance.

Anne answers: If you are paying attention, you’ll feel a bit of a vibration right away, in the form of Saturn knocking at your door. Not a huge amount of energy but a vibration. All your planets in Libra will go “Saturn is in the room!” And start talking among themselves. Think of when a rock star, celebrity or a president enters a room or takes the stage. Every one stands up, at attention or on tippy toes to see what is going on and get a glimpse. First impressions are formed at that moment even if the king isn’t talking to you. So when Saturn enters Libra, there will be an event or energy or reaction that “presages” what will happen when Saturn gets to your Libra Sun at 28. I like a 10 degree approach so when Saturn gets to 18 Libra, your Sun will start seriously working on the challenge of Saturn. Of course, the energy builds as it gets closer and closer to exact but you‘ll be able to figure it out by the end of the month when Saturn enters Libra.
