Hi Everyone,I've been reading up on what a vertex is and what it means. I was able to dig up some old threads about vertex on LL, but wanted to see if anyone had anything else to add. Specifically, does anyone have stories about your vertex conjuncting the suns of certain people in your life? Did you find this conjuction to lead towards a very important, fateful like relationship with those people? For myself, my vertex is in capricorn in the 5th house though my "anti-vertex" is my sun in cancer. Natally, I am just like how they describe someone with a vertex in the 5th house (childlike towards relationships). I only have 3 friends who are capricorns and my relationships with them have been at very crucial moments in my life (all 3 live in different cities and countries). My sun conjuncts the vertex of someone who I have an intense fated/karmic-like interaction with. He has vertex in cancer in the 8th house. What it describes about vertex in cancer and in the 8th house describes him perfectly. It's not surprising to me that our vertexes are the anti-vertexes of each other. IP: Logged |

My Vertex opposed ex-fiance's Venus by 1 degree. It was probably karmic but still not good (abusive). Probably other factors would have to be looked at. I don't think this aspect necessarily means twin souls, but maybe at least karmic ties. IP: Logged |

That's really funny because I also met someone who I have a DW asc/vertex conjunction - 1* & 4* - with. Lara, what kind of relationship do you have with him/her?

I just discovered today that with one of my best friends I have my Vertex exact conjunct her Vertex AND her Sun.Definitely fated--we met on a train ride as perfect strangers, struck up a conversation, hopped off the train and went to a bar to have a few drinks and finish our conversation, and have been best buds ever since. Our chart angles and houses are also exactly conjunct We've even been having the same recurring dreams since childhood--freaky! ------------------ My Chart IP: Logged |

awwwww god Amowls.. i hear you lol Thanks I have the same problem. We also have all this lilith crap going on too though and it's pain/pleasure alternating. We actually broke up a year ago after an almost "burn yourself to death" passionate affair and now we are in contact again. It's just so exhilarating !!! IP: Logged |

My vertex is conjunct my ex-boyfriend's sun and when we meet the first time my progressed Asc was conjunct his natal vertex. He and his whole family was like I knew them already, started believing past lives. IP: Logged |

Wow..that promises the heat of the world at my feet!Natal I Have Sun opp. Vertex and it's right on his asc/desc axis, so I guess with my Sun also on his desc within a degree.. Don't really know how this is going to work out, never had strong vertex aspects with anyone, even don't know how it works out in my own. IP: Logged |

WEll, Vertex means "turning point", so a Vertex-aspect (conjunction or opposition) could indicate a fated encounter in the sense that something shifts, turns around, transforms, changes for the person. But it doesn`t say anything about longevity or happiness, just that something is "cooking". If it has staying power or potential of happiness can be seen by other connections, I think.Of course that is only my opinion. EDIT: I wonder, since Vertex/Antivertex is an axis like the angles, if we could find interesting connections by looking at its rulers. Ex. My Vertex is in Cancer and my Antivertex is in Capricorn, so I wonder if Moon and Saturn aspects would carry the "transformational" quality of my Vertex, too. Well, I feel that is true for me. But Moon and sAturn are connected anyway in my chart. They rule the 8th house (Moon) or are in it (Saturn) and the 8th house has transformational overtones, too. IP: Logged |

Lara: Vertex aspects don't necessarily mean love, per se. It just means that there's a fated feeling to the relationship. We love and hate each other, but it's because of the DW Moon/Mars hard aspects and because of Sun conjunct Venus in the Composite.IP: Logged |

I agree with DD. Vertex seems to feel like fated, as its aspects seems to be kind of "shock" and transforming for the Vertex person. The only time I had a tight conjunct on my Vertex is with someone's Mars (0º09'). He was someone that was needed to appear in my life in that moment in order for me to be what I am, but he's long gone now (which was also necessary). IP: Logged |

Like mir, I also have Sun opp Vertex natally. In synastry, I have it overlaying my husband's MC - IC. (My Sun on his MC, Vertex on his IC.)My Vertex hasn't been too busy in synastry. In fact, when I first looked into the Vertex a few years ago, I saw such little synastry involving it that I wondered if my Vertex was broken. But then I noticed that for me it's very active in transits. Mine's in the 8th house, which isn't the best place for a fated turning point. Well, it can be really good (encounter a deep part of myself, that stays and enriches my life). But it can also be really bad (lose a deep part of myself, that I can't get back in my life). Overall, I've more often experienced the good side of this placement.

just wanted to thank everyone for responding to this post! great replies and i love reading about other people's experiences. i should also note that with that person whose cancer vertex conjuncts my sun (i have sun at 1 degree in cancer) i can definitely say without a doubt a very strange, karmic, fated like entanglement. but i try not to take it too seriously.IP: Logged |

Vertex in synastry is probably one of the greatest enigmas i've ever encountered . Until some things play out or some kind of transformation or change is complete, you will feel this very weird attachment for the other person. It is fated and actually something you cannot run away from. In a sense the Vertex forces you to figure something out, to change something in your own life, with the other person helping you in some way. It doesn't have to be on conscious level at all . But until that something that has to happen doesn't happen you will be under the spell of the Vertex. You also wont have the slightest idea what is going on between you and that person or why is it happening. It will just feel intense and irrational, like amowls said . I have a Vtx/AC DW with someone as well. Amowls if i remember well our synastry and composite charts are quite similar. So yes Vertex hard aspects are fated, meaningful, but quite boggling, exhausting, and very intense. The nature of that kind of relationship is most likely to be very strange in a sense that noone of the people involved will be sure whats going on. And that can go on for a very long time, until you figure out what the Vertex was trying to tell you . IP: Logged |
