i was just wondering about my virgo male friends or male friends with virgo moons. they are very unemotional and very in control of their emotions...that is until something drastic happens that compels them to show emotion (which in turns stuns the people around them). i just got sun in virgo and/or moon in virgo male examples to demonstrate those who may be unemotional or aloof. this one guy is so aloof, i nearly keeled over when he actually smiled. but the times when i saw emotion out of these men was when something terrible or shocking to them happened. i know everyone feels feelings and have emotions, but whether or not it's displayed....what else in one's chart may contribute to one being outwardly unemotional? thank you. Capricorn influences especially Capricorn moon/rising will make someone seem cold or unemotional. A strong air influence can also make someone seem unemotional, particularly if they have a strong Aquarian influence.IP: Logged |

funny that this topic has come up. just last week i was told that i am impersonal and aloof. he said that he has a hard time trying to figure out how i feel because i don't express how i feel.then he went on to say that i am weird. I said that i am not weird, just non-conforming. my placements? cap-sun gemini-moon cap-merc aquarius-venus capricorn-mars taurus-rising virgo 5th house am i surprised to hear all things? has he been the only one to tell me that? not at all.i get it all the time. I may not be expressive of my emotions but if i take the time to "serve" you, my emotions run deep. I can show you better than i can tell you.IP: Logged |

Ditto your comments Astra I have a Capricorn moon and I have heard people say that I can come across very serious or unemotional on first blush, my moon trines my ascendant which also influences my overall appearance or vibe I can give off to others.IP: Logged |

Cap Sun, Virgo Moon, Gemini Rising here (only one water planet as well). I honestly get concerned about my level of detachment sometimes. I like to write down what I'm feeling when I do feel strongly, though. I appreciate having the emotion. I think that detachment can put you into a depressive area pretty easily if you get to feeling too detached.IP: Logged |

i hate feeling so detached because it opens up to being misunderstood. i have very strong emotions which come in negative situations. my temper gets the best of me and i have no problem expressing that but i have the hardest time telling the one that i love, i love you and that was so detrimental. i'm working on it and trying to be "softer". its harder being a woman with these placements because i don't fit the norm on how a woman should act emotionally.IP: Logged |

thanks everyone for your responses so far.astra: yes i concur. i have a friend with a capricorn moon (but water sun) and she is totally aloof and unemotional. you just never see passion or feel passion from her in terms of anything. you know when people jump up for joy when they're happy or get all upset because something bad happened to them? i've never seen this friend display any sort of outward emotion. not even in her writing. it's always very contained. like her extent of emotion may be a smirk or a quiet laugh. when i laugh i giggle like crazy and clap. when i'm beyond happy i'll be telling everyone why i'm so happy. I have a Capricorn Asc. and Virgo moon. I'm definitely not detached (my sun and quite a few other things in my chart are water), but I know I give off the impression that I am so there is always room for misunderstandings. My moon actually sits in the 8th house and is conjunct 3 Liliths...further complicating things.

stopandstare,Yes, your friend's behavior is very typical of a capricorn moon. However, underneath that hard exterior is a ton of passion. Capricorn moons have as much emotion as the next sign, but they just keep emotions under control. The good thing about this placement is they can stay very calm during emergencies when everyone else is panicking. IP: Logged |

thanks to everyone for their replies! lonake: thanks for your insightful reply. a male friend of mine has sun in capricorn but he's one of the most emotional and sensitive people i know and he's not afraid to show it. i checked his chart and he's got mostly earth and fire planets. with my chart, i'm about evenly split between water, earth, and fire. we're both extremely sensitive to one another but he's more outward about his emotions than i am. i am able to contain myself in public. we understand each other in a very psychic way like we can feel each other's pain or when something is up, we'll suddenly call each other. i seem to draw the unemotional types as well. i understand the strong silent type. i actually like that...maybe that's why i draw them i'm middle of the way. i can be strong and silent but then i can be outwardly full of passion. i'm not into crying in public or freaking out in public. overall i prefer to be my more toned down emotional self and prefer to be with someone who's like that. i'm very split personality that way IP: Logged |

I agree with strong air influence and capricorn, especially moon in cappy. I'm a libra sun with moon in cappy square saturn, But my sun is conj pluto and I have a prominent mercury in scorpio. Inwardly I am intensley emotional, I'm practically seething with feeling all the time. But socially I'm stonefaced unemotional and in control. I'm also very aloof and standoffish.IP: Logged |

I have a Virgo Moon but my Earth Moon is nourished by the water influences of Neptune and Scorpio planets. Still, I do tend to exhibit the Virgo Moon 'cold' side. It's very troubling to me to see that so many with this placement can fall to this. It's definitely common for a Lunar Virgo to now and again, fall prey to emotional insecurity and just feeling cold and misunderstood by those who they are closest to and communicate with often. The dark side to my Moon is, correcting the way other speak, nit picking at their clothing, saying they have no emotional intelligence, cutting them up for how they act in a very aloof, pointed manner...I try to stop but it's very hard. I have a Cancer Mars square Mercury so when I blow up, I really blow up, but I'll usually start out with these aloof, quiet and snobbish moods first. The important thing to remember with Virgo Moons is that, when they begin going into a 'defense mode' similar to how I described my aloof snobbish mood, they are really hurting on the inside... and might just not have the eloquence or balance to be able to say, Wow I am so upset and angry and sad right now, please talk about it with me. I have Virgo Rising, Capricorn Moon! I'm super reserved concerning emotions. I mean, I'm excitable, expressive, but I don't like others KNOWING or ASKING about mah feelings. And I'm not all, "hey I lookit me I'm feeling angry!" I'd say that I'm aloof in the sense I'm p uninterested or uninvolved. I may be right in the conversation or shaking hands, meeting new people, but really, I couldn't care less! And unemotional...I can "cut off" my emotions when needed just like that. "Aloof, magnetic (wow what), and oddly reserved" my friend said when asked what I was like. IP: Logged |

I am Virgo rising, and i always thought that i'm kinda unemotional outside, but i guess not that unemotional. I just cannot express them freely, but emotions are bursting out of me. I don't tend to complain, though. It'll always be "I'm fine", even if my leg is blooding like hell, lol. But it's not about that. Virgo Moon makes people a LOT unemotional, and this time for sure. I don't like it. I can now 100% track if a person's Moon is in Virgo, by seeing his/her behaviour. Today alone i guessed it for 2 people that i thought would have this placement. One is a hockey player, that never, NEVER does anything after scoring a goal, not at all. Even after a win. Dude, what else Moon placement could he have, lol. IP: Logged |

Actually, when i think of it, I'm becoming more and more open when it comes to my emotions. I still subconsciously try to hide them, but it doesn't turn out well, my Leo Moon bursts outside! IP: Logged |

Hey oh. You both sound like me but switcherooed. Scorpio sun, virgo moon, Cap asc, Mars in Aries! Same deal with me, earthy restraint with deep waters underneath, shot out in fiery bursts! On the topic of Virgo moons: heck yes people think I'm detached and judgemental. I don't even open my mouth and people think I'm judging them. I'm actually incredibly tolerant and open minded though. It just doesn't come across right away. I'm very reserved about showing emotion until I trust someone. Virgo moons...oh man, we have a tough time with the people and the feeling and the touching, you know?
