For those who are dating someone, married or had an intense/good former relationship. I want to know if there is a pattern regarding decans. Each sun sign has a decan. If you don't know your decan, here are two links. The first one chooses the decans by date, the second one by degrees. I recommend using the degrees method since the dates one is very flexible. Decans by date: http://www.horoscopeswithin.com/decans.php Decans by degrees: http://www.lisashea.com/lisabase/astrology/art5593.html Please post your decan and the other person's decan. I shall go first. Me: cancer decanate Him: capricorn decanate Thanks. IP: Logged |

Personaly, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but I doubt that decanates are that significant at all. Any variations in sign character will be strongly influenced by the big three(sun, moon, asc). An example would be me. I am Sag sun who had an extremely unpredictable friendship with a Leo sun whose sun formed a nice trine to mine(by degrees): At times we'd be best of friends whilst at others I couldn't stand him. Later on I found that our moons were opposing each other( mine in cancer and his in capricorn) by degrees. Add to that, that my moon squares my Mars(a very passionate and often explosive planet); relationships with cardinal moon signs will always be challenging for me. I didn't know his asc and so I can't comment on that but I suspect that its probably in Pisces. I am the mellow kind of Sag.I am easy-going and often quiet and withdrawn around new people(unless I am in the company of fellow fire signs).I think I owe this attribute to Taurus on my ascendant. My point is that perhaps the big 3 and the personal planets(not to mention inter-planetary aspects) needs to be exhausted first before looking into the complexities of decanates? IP: Logged |

I think there is nothing wrong in looking more detailed at a chart, after the bit three have been looked at.Anyway, I don`t pay all that much attention to decanates, cause they only emphasise the element of your natal position, as the decanates are always ruled by a ruler of the same element. I think Duads are far more interesting, as well as the "overtones" of a planet (STephen Arroyo called it like this), when you look at the sign its ruler falls into. In my case, even though I have much fire in my chart, ALL the overtones of my personal planets and ASC are in water signs. But that is my personal preference. IP: Logged |

I checked it outthey really lost me with the constellation stuff. Like how they associated each decanate with constellations. How did they do that. Why is early Scorpio associated with Serpens? I was born with the Sun in early Scorpio, and it's actually in the constellation of Virgo. It's just 2 days away from going into the constellation of Libra. Raymond

Huh? It's with planets, not signs. Me: Jupiter decan Him: Jupiter decan So we're both quite Saggy or what? Maybe too much Sag? I suppose it makes sense... especially since he's a Sag sun and I'm a 9th house sun. IP: Logged |
