I have two very close parallels in declination, venus pluto and mars neptune, and I'm wondering how I feel and experience these differently than a conjunction? When I read the interpretations for these in regular astrology I realize I feel them very strongly.IP: Logged |

yepYou have them in conjunction in declination longitude equivalent chart. I pointed that out before. any ways...parallels are like conjunctions. They are not necessarily stronger nor weaker. They are just different coordinates I am the same way I have Mars parallel Eris, and I have Mars conjunct Eris in declination longitude equivalent chart
I have Saturn contraparallel a parallel of Mercury-Venus-Neptune,and I have Saturn oppose a conjunction of Mercury-Venus-Neptune in declination longitude equivalent chart I do feel my declination aspects big time. I never look at charts without looking at declinations.

what orbs are appropriate for parallels and contra-parallels? IP: Logged |

"wow!... 1°? that's very small."not really it's a different coordinate declinations is equatorial latitude coordinate that involves a much slower travel speed relativity compared to equatorial longitude coordinate that we normally use. if you were to use ecliptic latitude, the orb would be much smaller too because it involves a much slower travel speed relative compared to the equatorial latitude coordinate. Only 11 minutes of arc with those.

interesting.so i understand that there is: -equatorial latitude= declination (1° orb) -equatorial longitude=what we normally use from aries to pisces -the ecliptic latitude (0°11' orb) is that right glaucus? where do you look at to find the ecliptic latitude? and do the ecliptic longitude exist too? "so i understand that there is:-equatorial latitude= declination (1° orb) -equatorial longitude=what we normally use from aries to pisces -the ecliptic latitude (0°11' orb) is that right glaucus?" yep "where do you look at to find the ecliptic latitude?" You're not going to see it in a regular chart. If you have to look at the PDF files at astro.com or you can go to this site: check the box that says Lat http://www.true-node.com/pos/ "and do the ecliptic longitude exist too?"
of course that's the the zodiac placements that we use in Astrology astrologers always using ecliptic longitude coordinates when they use the zodiac placements however astronomers don't use the same coordinates like we do
they use Right Ascension (equatorial longitude) and Declination (equatorial latitude). They don't use the ecliptic longitude coordinates, and so they don't use the zodiac stuff like we use. They don't use ecliptic latitude either. I use all the equatorial and ecliptic coordinates to get a full multidimensional view of the chart. but because of the slow movement when it comes to the ecliptic latitude,I hardly use it. I mainly used both ecliptic longitude and declination, and then I started adding right ascension.
