Just did mine and it's in my 9th, at the end of it. Does this mean I will publish my book, thus becoming a professional writer. 9th also rules courts, does it mean I will be a prosecutor like I want to be? Both?

Obviously a chart can't show that as fact, but it can show inclinations and it IS what I want...

Where is your MC in whole? Does it jive?

Mine is in 9th too... it is still Moon cnj MC but now I must try integrate the 9th house in the mix.

Due to Raymond's influence I started using whole signs recently and so, for the first time I am considering the 9th house which was previously vacant. I'm still trying to get familiar, so I will be curious to read the responses to your thread.

My MC is in the 10th. It squares the Ascendant with 2'12 orb.

therefore if a point conjuncts one point, then it squares the other point.

that's what transneptunian dwarf planet, Haumea does to those points
It conjuncts my Ascendant with 2'10 orb
and squares my Midheaven with 2 minutes of arc.

haha, its funny, i read you're post, and your interests was appealing to me, and guess where my MC is?

in the 9th.

however, i have never considered pursuing writing or law.

however, i enjoy writing, this might be also because my venus is in the 3rd. moon in the 9th.

my main interests iv wanted to pursue are Media based, - Photography/Cinematography/Filming.

which is quite Virgo i think for the Photography side, and as for films, mars ruler of my MC in aries, is in Virgo, and it trines neptune to 1 degree, and my neptune is in the 5th.

the only description i could ever find of Moon B-quintile Pluto, said i'd probably enjoy films, and stuff like that, but psychological ones, deep stories, or something along those lines. anyway, its very true.

my mars is in the 2nd.

i think aspects to the MC ruler and the houses these planets are in (that aspect the ruler of mc) probably influence your career interests?

on the side in general, i am interested in Learning things, i love Wikipedia :P

but seriously, i like reading things like Philosophy, Psychological things.

psychology was something i once considered studying.

(pluto 2 orb sextile to mars)

my sun and true node aspect MC its self, my true node is in the 7th, and my sun is in the 1st, they both tightly oppose each other, i have no idea what that means to all this!

Hi, Not sure exactly what you are looking at. My MC is also at the end of 9th almost conjunct Jupiter (Aries.) What do you mean by whole signs? I assume pretty much everyone has MC somewhere in the 9th or 10th house. You need to look at what rules the 9th. What sign is the MC plus a lot of other factors to determine profession.

aka Kat,

she is referring to the whole sign house system which is the oldest house system.

whole sign house system
is an equal house system with every house corresponding with a whole entire sign
It's determined by the placement of the Ascendant.

for example

I have 13'27 Virgo Ascendant

therefore
my 1st house starts at 0'00 Virgo
my 2nd house starts at 0'00 Libra
my 3rd house starts at 0'00 Scorpio
and so on.

not everybody has the MC in the 9th nor 10th houses.

people born in high latitudes that are not in the polar regions can have their MC's located in other houses like the 7th, 8th,11th,12th

especially the polar regions,
the MC and Ascendant can be in conjunction as well as in opposition. The MC can be located below the horizon......even at the very bottom of the chart. That's the South Pole.

for example: Ann-Margret born in Valsjobyn,Sweden has Midheaven in the 8th house.

Hmm, well--aren't all MCs either in the 9th or 10th house in a whole sign system?

I think that would be such a vast subsection of the population that I can't imagine it would be significant.

EDITED: Oops, missed your explanation, Raymond.

I'm still suspicious about this being significant--it seems trickily just mathematical (same objection I have to composites)--I would think that planets placed in your 9th and 10th houses or aspecting the MC would be more significant than the MC house placement.

I'm a professional writer with an advanced degree, and mine is actually in the 11th.

not all MC's are in the 9th and 10th as I explained earlier.

People born in high latitude areas can have MC's in the other houses.

this is especially so for people born in the polar regions

it depends on the location and time

some examples:

Ann-Margret has MC in 8th house.
Elizabeth Taylor has MC in 11th house.

funny this changes a lot some of the placements of the planets:

for instance:my bf

outs his venus in the 3rd
his sun/merc/satu/plt in his 4th
jup in 5th
uranus/mar/nep in the 6th

and turns my sun into my 12th instead of in the 11th.

How does this describes the influences then?is it more descripiptive, this type of method?or the others?

It gives me a huge stellium in the 8th: mars, jupiter, neptune, venus, and moon.

It doesn't change the placement of any other planets, but I think that's enough!

Ruler of 9th, where my MC is (end of 9th, beginning of 10th) is saturn which has only one aspect, which is a trine to Mercury, who is still sitting in my 9th.

You read the whole sign houses just like you would with houses in other systems. The objects in a house influences the affairs of that house.

The whole sign house system is simplistic.

each sign is covered by the entire sign. Therefore, there are no intercepted houses.

This house system is mainly used by hellenistic, vedic astrologers

the house placements of the objects might even change

in my case:
Sun moves from 2nd into 3rd
Moon moves from 6th into 7th
Jupiter and Neptune move from 3rd into 4th
Saturn moves from 9th into 10th
North Lunar Node moves from 5th into 6th
South Lunar Node moves from 11th into 12th

dwarf planets:
Ceres(conjunct my Makemake) moves from 11th into 12th
Pluto moves from 1st into 2nd
Haumea(conjunct Ascendant) moves from 12th into 1st

dwarf planet candidates:
Sedna moves from 8th into 9th
Varuna(conjunct Saturn) moves from 9th into 10th
Ixion and Quaoar(conjunct Sun) move from 2nd into 3rd

I can strongly relate to all these placements too, especially when I consider the house rulers including the traditional house rulers

relationships have always been a damned challenge even though marriage is something that I always wanted ......my Moon in 7th in t-square with Jupiter,Saturn,Neptune fits with that big time. I have trine to Sun in 3rd house, and if I express myself well, and show confidence, and be vibrant in my communications that can help me with relationships.

the duration of an object transiting in the sign is exactly the same as the duration of transit in the house

for example

transiting Saturn is in Virgo in my 1st house right now. When it enters Libra,it will then be in my 2nd house.

Ptolemy used aspects by sign. He used the whole sign house system.

the parts and lots were used with whole sign houses too. they were used as horoscope points like the Ascendant. You looked at houses from the parts, lots like you do from the Ascendant. Vedic Astrologers do that with the Moon.
