I've been to several funerals a year and have always been surrounded by death. For me, death has become a routine, though it still hurts to lose someone! Does anyone else with Saturn in Scorpio share a similar experience?

We are all surrounded by death, but are often protected from it, and indeed many people live to be in their 50s and 60s without every having seen a dead body (though not including me) or suffered a close bereavement.

Maybe Saturn in Scorpio is more attuned and aware of the reality. Though finding death routine unless you have an emotional connection is not something I would attribute to any placement. It is too general.

There might be something significant on your chart in natal or transits if you seem to be experiencing an unusually high number of deaths amongst people you know (particularly if many are young). It happened to me when young with Saturn Conjunct Pluto, my chart ruler.

No. I haven't had death around me much at all really. I've got Saturn in Scorpio in the 12th conjuncting Pluto in Libra in the 11th.

I would think it has more to do with house placement and transiting Saturn, than it does simple natal placement. For instance, when the transiting Saturn was going through my 8th house, my grandmother passed away and then my grandfather on the other side of my family passed away within a year of each other.

I'm sorry that you've had to deal with death a lot in your life. It is hard to see those you care about pass away.

I have had experienced the death of several people, my grandfathers and great-grandfathers. My mom was taking care of my grandfathers, who were living with us, and so I witnessed their sickness and death then.

What I find really unbearable are those deaths of young ones I have either heard of or in some cases it were people, who were pretty close tome: the boyfriend of my eldest friend died in a motorcycle accident with not even 25 years; a girl I used toplay with as a kid died of leucemia, when she was about 10 years I believe; the boy who was living in the same appartment complex as we did during my first years, and with whom I have been playing often as a child, died in a car-accident some years ago (we didn`t ahve contact then, but still it was just horrible); his mother died half a year later from brain tumour.

3 months ago a dear colleague of mine died of cancer, too (he was in his 50s, which is just no age to die), and I certainly still haven`t come to terms with it.

The cousin of my father had been found dead in his car a year ago, he had died from a heartattack - he wasn`t even 60 years old I believe.
Another cousin of my Dad (also around 60-65 years old) was being found dead in her appartment around roughly the same time - also heartattack.

My mother`s mom died, when my mom was 17 years old; of course I never met her, but her death was something that had always been kinda "looming" over my mum, and therefor over me.
When I was three, my great grandfather died; it was the first death I consciously remember, as we visited him several times a week. I think this was among my very first conscious memories in this life; the discussion and decision of my parents that I was too little to attend his funeral.
A few years later my great grandmother died, also in a hospital.
Her son in law died a week later. And her daughter / his wife died 2 years later, in the midst of an alcoholic delirium.

Sometimes it feels more than I can bear; not only for the pain it brings but for the feeling of absolute uncertainness in this life.
But I also know that I should not complain, as there are people who got it much worse.
Anyway, "death" has always been an issue for me, or more accurately, the loss and uncertainness it brings.

I have retograde Saturn in Cancer in 8th house with Draconic Saturn in Scorpio.

Oh for me it never has become a routine, but nowadays, if everything goes too well and smoothly, I start becoming restless and anxious something bad might happen. Like the longer the happy period is, the more painful the catastrophe will be, that is surely bound to happen, for cycling reasons.

Saturn is less about what's around you and more about what you notice and what feels important to you.

I think some Scorp/8th house Saturn people will feel like death is a major, heavy issue in their lives...while others will notice other Plutonian issues in that light (such as issues surrounding sex and power, or issues about the emotional legacy of the father.)

Lucia,

"Saturn is less about what's around you and more about what you notice"
I absolutely second that.

I think in my case it is not that I have experienced MORE deaths in my surroundings, I have just become more aware of them, or maybe not even that, but it impressed me in ways, it may have not impressed others, triggering this Saturn typical fear or blocks.
Just as I have always been very aware (or maybe just being paranoid) of powerplays, attempts to manipulate or blocks surrounding sexuality, not just in me, but in those people around me, too.

DD,

I am very sorry that you had to experience all of that pain. It's so hard to lose someone, especially if that person dies at such a young age as you've pointed out.

Enchantress,

Thank you for your kinds words.

For me, death has been a very consistent part of life. I've lost cousins when they were only 5 all the way through my grandparents who I miss terribly.

DD, where is your Sun?

I notice my Sun in 8th gives me a heightened awareness of 8th house issues, but I feel more fascinated by them than personally hurt by them/aware of blocks to them. Whereas with my Cancer Saturn in the 7th, I feel personally hurt by 7th house issues, like those issues are extra-heavy or going wrong in my life.

I guess until we've successfully "Done Our Saturn," our Saturn-house/sign issues feel burdensome. Whereas with Solar house/sign issues, we have a heightened awareness of that arena of life, but it doesn't feel heavy or painful in the same way (barring a Sun-Saturn conjunction.)

Yes, you could be right about that, Lucia.

BTW my Sun is on 26 Sagittarius in 1st house exact conjunct Mercury; Sun and Mercury are ruling 7th and 9th house.

I attended the maximum funerals when Transit Saturn was in the Draconic 12th House.
