EDIT: that was a typo meant to say teenager, how embarrassing LOL What do you think of this? It's frustrating without the Moon.
quote: When Enid consulted a gynaecologist about her failure to conceive, she was diagnosed as having an immature uterus and had to have surgery and hormone treatment before she could have children.' The irony was that when she finally did have two daughters, Gillian and Imogen, with her first husband, Hugh Pollock, she was unable to relate to them as a normal mother
quote:
She was distant and unkind to her younger daughter Imogen and there was clear favouritism in the way she privileged her elder daughter Gillian, who died two years ago aged 75.Imogen Smallwood, 74, says: 'My mother was arrogant, insecure and without a trace of maternal instinct. Her approach to life was childlike, and she could be spiteful, like a teenager
Helena Bonham-Carter is to play Enid Blyton in the upcoming TV series. Where's Neptune, I thought when I read this, and here it is, Square Mars. With Pluto joining in on the action, and do I see it Square to Jupiter/Mercury as well, etc.
quote:
'Enid's self-awareness was brilliant and she was incredibly controlling, too,' explains Bonham Carter. 'I was attracted to the role because she was bonkers. She was an emotional mess and quite barking mad. 'What I found extraordinary, bordering on insane, was the way that Enid reinvented her own life. She was allergic to reality - if there was something she didn't like then she either ignored it or re-wrote her life. 'She didn't like her mother, so let her colleagues assume she was dead. When her mother died, she refused to attend the funeral. Then the first husband didn't work out, so she scrubbed him out. 'There's also a scene in the film where her dog dies, but she carries on pretending he's still alive because she can't bear the truth.' Emotionally, Blyton remained a little girl, stuck in a world of picnics, secret-society codes and midnight feasts. It acted as a huge comfort blanket. Many of Blyton's obsessions can be traced to her father, who left her mother when Enid was 12. She then seized up emotionally and physically. 'It was my job to understand how she became like this in the first place, not to judge her,' explains Bonham Carter.

Could be Moon square Saturn/Uranus conjunction. My generation has a Saturn/Uranus conjunction, and the people my age with Moons squared to it can be quite literally insane/emotionally stunted (of course I'm saying CAN BE, there are people my age that make a conscious effort not to be).IP: Logged |

Interesting observation, Belgz. The Moon also relates to the maternal instinct, and the NN is about your purpose in life, or about traits you should grow into. So being a mother could very well be a "lesson" to people with Moon conjunct NN. In these two cases it seems the women chose to not learn this lesson. Of course that is only one possible interpretation of this aspect. Apart from anything else, as a kid I loved her books.

Could be a hit to Saturn/Uranus, but that would be Sextile not Square. Could be Moon CNJ NN. Midnight Moon time would be 27* Cap 59'. At 11.59pm it would be 11* Aqua 52'. That is the margin we have to work on here! IP: Logged |

It is really a pity we don`t have her birthtime, cause I think the Moon position would probably be the key to interpretation.IP: Logged |

I think the stellium in virgo is playing a role too. I'd love to know which house it is in. IP: Logged |

I've found this ... http://www.ngjmkamp.nl/enidblyton/Was%20Enid%20Blyton%20the%20mother%20from%20hell.pdf The lifelong conflict over attention (who got the nicest doll, etc) is a familiar scenario. I am inclined to think it is true that there was something emotionally lacking in her relationship with her children. Astrologically I wonder if there is some minor aspect to the Moon that is significant. Maybe what is here as a noonchart it not far off - with an Inconjunct to Venus in Cancer.
I love the quote from Helena B-C about trying to understand what makes someone that way, not judging. I like to think that is what we are doing here with our astrology. p.s Playing around with the chart I tried 3pm where:- Sun is in the 8th Virgo Stellium is in the 9th, Sag on the ASC 2nd house Moon tight in CNJ to NN Moon Inconjunct Venus in Cancer in 7th Moon Sesquiquadrate Neptune in 7th Moon Sesquiquadrate Mars in 9th Moon Sextile ASC quote:
Moon Semisquare or Sesquiquadrate NeptuneYou are liable to experience some emotional confusion, for your upbringing has not prepared you to accept some of the harsher realities of life. You need to develop a thicker skin, then you will be able to face your emotional difficulties directly and honestly, rather than distorting the facts to suit your feelings. That way you will develop more self-confidence.
