New Moon November 16, 2009

2:14 pm EST
11:14 am PST

24:34 Scorpio Sun and Moon

The New Moon at 24 Scorpio in November takes place the day after Saturn squares Pluto for the first of three times. Cast for Washington, D.C., the Sun and Moon are in Scorpio and placed in Scorpio's house ~ the 8th house of profound transformation, sex, death, taxes and money owed to other people.

Virtually the entire chart answers to Scorpio if we follow along using traditional rulerships. Mars in Leo answers to Scorpio Sun. Vesta in Leo answers to Scorpio Sun. Ceres and Venus are placed in Scorpio.
South Node in Cancer answers to Scorpio Moon.

Venus in Scorpio is in charge of Athena and Saturn in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn, so they too answer back to Scorpio. Using traditional rulers for the Gang of Three, Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune, we get back to Scorpio, via Saturn in Libra answering to Venus in Scorpio. Using traditional or modern rulers for Uranus and Juno in Pisces, we get back to Scorpio via Saturn in Libra with Venus in Scorpio the ruler. The North Node in Capricorn, answers to Saturn with Venus in Scorpio as ruler. Mercury in Sagittarius heads over to Jupiter, also answering back to Saturn in Libra with Venus in Scorpio in charge. Mars and the Sun are in mutual reception, allowing each other to switch roles and energies.

That is OODLES and OODLES of Scorpio energy flying around in the heavens. At the same time, two of our more potent planets, Saturn and Pluto are in a fight asking us to restructure the foundation of our lives. Let's think about what Scorpio asks us to do.... As a fixed water sign, we find lots and lots of swamp energy buried in Scorpio. Scorpio is all about birth, conception, regeneration and endings. The theme for Scorpio is "I desire". They always ask "Is the exchange equal or not?"

Some of the key words or areas ruled by the eighth house are : Sex, death, taxes, Support from other people ~ financial, moral, spiritual, & physical. Legacies, trusts, wills, insurance matters, secrets, spiritual & physical regeneration, psychological rebirth, degeneration, occult matters, sleep, deep research, investigation, hidden assets, assets & financial affairs of partners, alimony, surgery, astral experiences, muscular system, reproductive systems, colon, large intestine, bladder, sex organs, deep motivations, mutually sharing, obligations, emotional gifts, reciprocation, interchange, retaliation, compensation, swapping, giving, deep questions, garbage, removal, eradication, uprooting, amputation, transformation, mystery, process of death, afterlife, reincarnation, soul travel, distillation, investigation, probing, analysis, depth, innards, core, conception, poison, and peat.

Planets placed in the sign of Scorpios will be motivated, penetrating, executive, resourceful, determined, scientific, investigative, probing, passionate, aware, needs to scrutinize, search and examine in depth, strong likes and dislikes, strong convictions, intuitive, subtle, secretive, introspective, capacity for powerfully and subtlety influencing others, magnetic, dislike of superficial, pervasive manner, endurance, habit prone, readily emotional, keenly and sensitively influenced, subtle, tenacious, concentrated, intense, shrewd, industrious, and inquisitive.

On a bad day, Scorpio planets can be vengeful, temperamental, secretive, overbearing, violent, sarcastic, intense, suspicious, jealous, intolerant, obstinate, dogmatic, critical, uncompromising, resentful, brooding, dominant, sarcastic, possessive, forceful, and easily hurt.

Constellations in the sign of Scorpio include the Scorpion that killed Orion. Ophiuchus or Serpentarius, known as the Serpent Bearer which is said to represent the infant Hercules who strangled two serpents sent by Juno to kill him as he lay asleep in his cradle. This constellation has also been called Aesculapius, and held to rule medicines. The Serpent, the Wolf, the Fly, the Night Owl, the Solitary Thrush, the Chameleon, the Compass, and the Cross. Constellations and the behaviors of the animals or images in them are part and parcel of where we find the definition of the signs and how we can expect them to behave.

So EVERY PLANET in the sky is in the sign of Scorpio or answering to Scorpio's rules and energy. That is an enormous amount of power and will gathered together under the New Moon. As you can imagine, rituals of creation, new beginnings or situations desired to be released under this New Moon will be mighty powerful indeed! Make sure to take time to focus your intent and intentions carefully.

In addition to all the Scorpio energy swirling about, the Sun and Moon Scorpio planets are square to the Gang of Three in Aquarius and Vesta in Leo. Mars in Leo is square to Ceres and Venus in Scorpio. Squares energize and activate the chart and the energy available in it. The lights are also trine to the South Node and sextile to the North Node offering us an opportunity to EASILY release things we no longer need and the ability to gently work toward moving in the direction of what we desire.

Mars is triggering the eclipse energy from the August 5, 2009 eclipse, bringing up the energy of change and loss from last summer and pointing it forward to a new place. The extra emphasis on planets in Water signs makes it a very fluid and emotional New Moon. Additionally, there is a Grand Triangle in Water, between the lights, Uranus and the South Node, asking us to emotionally process and release things that are no longer working for us. Grand Trines are powerful energy systems that allow us to coordinate the three signs in water ~ fresh water river/cardinal Cancer, fixed water/ swamp Scorpio and mutable changing Ocean water/ Pisces. Think of the cleansing and clarifying power of water as you use the energy of the New Moon. The river and the ocean combine, co-mingle and merge in the swamp, brackish, wetland yet exceptionally fertile water of Scorpio.

We might find ourselves wrestling with how to value ourselves, especially when we notice or as we look at how the other person appears to see us. Listen carefully to the words of others ~ watch for their issues in what they say to you ~ Mercury is in the 12th house of Pluto, so the agenda can be exposed. And Pluto is in the second house of Mercury so words have unexpected power. Use them wisely.

Essentially we are all completely turned on and tuned in. Emotions are heightened and wild, ranging free. In some cases, emotions are wildly out of control! In other cases, the passions are harnessed and can be directed toward mastery, creation, reproduction, transformation and amazing feats of alchemy.

It's a New Moon on which to be very careful what you wish for but to wish deeply and wisely. It is perhaps one of the most powerful moons I've ever seen. The expansive energy of the Gang of Three squaring all the Scorpio planets allows for amazing manifestation and transformation.

I encourage you to only, ONLY wish for, request or ritualize that which you would like to have done to yourself. This New Moon has an amazing magnifier or amplifier on it. Wishing harm on another being could send harm, amplified, back to you. Wishing love, healing, transformation, consciousness, individuation and healing for the other person as well as yourself is the way to use this energy. Keep the energy in the higher realms of Scorpio's power. Ask for positive transformation of the negative versions of Scorpio energy that you find flying around.

Lynda Hill's interpretation of the Sabian Image for the New Moon in Scorpio is AN X RAY PHOTOGRAPH HELPS WITH THE DIAGNOSIS

Commentary: An 'X-ray Photograph Helps With The Diagnosis' of some ailment, dilemma or situation. The 'X-ray Photograph' allows things to be revealed that otherwise would not be seen or understood. The dictionary defines 'Diagnosis' as: "The act or process of identifying or determining the nature and cause of a disease or injury through evaluation of patient history, examination, and review of laboratory data." It pierces through external layers to the core of things to show what's really there or what's really going on. This can allow for remedies to be decided and healing can be set in motion.

Oracle: You may be in need of a deeper understanding of your situation. There's quite possibly the impulse to peel away the layers of the situation, using the emotions or the intellect. What is needed or wanted to be known and what is being done to reveal the reality or structure of the situation that is facing you? Talking to others may be necessary, as they can help reflect to you what is really going on from an uninvolved perspective. Looking somewhere "inside" for clues can bring issues to light that otherwise would have gone undetected. An 'X-ray' is able to see through layers into the structures of things, it cuts through extraneous, or unnecessary, details to get to the heart of the matter to find out what's going on. We can use our minds to the same effect, with a clever 'Diagnosis' we can delve into things to find solutions and remedies. Likewise, a 'Photograph' can freeze life in one moment of time. These "snapshots" can show us many things and can answer questions that may have otherwise long gone unanswered. Someone in this story can be feeling that it is impossible to hide anything as someone is scrutinizing every move that's made. Look deeply, you'll come up with a 'Diagnosis'.

Keywords: Penetrating insight. Piercing through external appearances. Pure understanding. Incredible insight and revelations. Having the eyes to see. X-ray machines, spying, detective work. Reaching conclusions. Evaluations. Photographs. Negatives. Radiation. X-ray vision. Expensive and up-to-date equipment. Chemotherapy. Mammograms. Scanning equipment. Finding causes. Paparazzi.

The Caution: Disregarding the flesh on the outside-the humanity of people. Invading other people's psychic or intellectual space. Undressing or revealing people through subtle manipulation. Always being intense and dissatisfied with the easy, or obvious, answers.

nice one, swirl...it's on my MC and am i looking forward to it! couldn't happen at a more symbolic time as i have just given notice to my boss who owes me lots of back pay ... although i have nowhere to move on to at the moment i am looking to start a new chapter. have been with this project for 12 years now!

and i'm so glad neptune is direct again, and uranus soon too!! mars (scorp energy again) is heading into a station conj my sun at the same time, and pluto/saturn is making a t-square with my uranus in 5th house. i am probably in for a battle of wills as my SCORP "boss" does not like to let go of people or money...

My mood improved, once the New Moon had occurred in my first house, followed by Mars conjoining my Midheaven. It will be nice if I can hold on to this more positive mindset, and the accompanying energy.

VIG,

this is interesting. As I mentioned in the other thread, I nearly got into a fight with a colleague of mine on monday evening.

I pointed out a flaw during an official meeting (they wanted to decide something, but there were only 6 people from 15 people there, and I said that it wasn`t fair nor legal to decide anything in their absence), and she was barking at me, that if I wanted to boykot...
She never got to finish her sentence, cause I cut her word, and apparently asked her: "What do you want to impute to me here?"

It was not just what we said, but I didn`t think, I was reacting purely on instinct. Had I thought about it, I would have kept my mouth shut. But I was so barking mad, I felt like I would want to hit her, if she said one more word.

Well, both of us kind of withdrew from this (the issue still isn`t clarified), but several people later on told me that firstly I was right and secondly that they had never seen me like that. I only asked this simple question, but obviously I must have had a pretty threatening or challenging undertone. Like I was really saying: "Continue.... if you dare."

Well the new Moon was squaring Psyche on 24 Aquarius and nearly conjunct Valentine on 27 SCorpio.
But my Mean Black Moon Lilith is on 24 Aquarius, too and True BML is on 28 Aquarius, so maybe I felt that square?

I know DD. I was feeling it too. Actually Sunday and Monday for me. (irritable, angry, anxious) On Sunday, the Saturn Pluto square was exact, and I could feel that. Just this sense of my heart and my gut being squeezed.

She mentioned that the whole chart answered to Scorpio, so maybe that is why we felt it so strongly. Very dark and intense. Feeling it to your depth, bringing up all the intense emotions. It really made me think more about her calling it the Scorpio "swamp". I never really think about the Scorpio in my chart. It's my empty 12th house, and you know what ever is in your 12th is your blind spot, what you don't see clearly.

New Moons don't usually bother me...but this one did. I usually feel the energy more on a Full Moon. But she did say it was one of the most powerful New Moons she had ever seen.

Kata,

yes, Uranus is squaring my Sun on 26 SAg, and my pr Sun is squaring natal Uranus from Aquarius to Scorpio. lol

VIG,

that is exactly how I experienced it, yes!
Very very intense, and like you I usually don`t notice New Moons very well, fullmoons are a different matter, especially the fixed Fullmoons.
On Fullmoon of Aquarius-Leo I usually go completely insane with all that electricity around.
The Fullmoon of Scorpio - Taurus is more directed inwards, very intense.

And yes, Scorpio is in my 12th house, too, as you know. And probably I was the most surprised about the vehemence of my reaction.
