Well basically depending on which planets are aspecting each other determines whether you are compatible or not. Even so sometimes some planets have a polar effect and are still positive when the aspect is a negative one.

Most astrologers go by sun and moon compatibility so if you sun or his sun makes a sextile or trine or conjunction to either his sun or moon then that is considered to be a good aspect and shows general compatibility.

Venus and mars aspects show sexual compatibility, generally all aspects betweent the 2 are favorable, though the opposite and square aspect is said to burn out quicker and not last as long over a long period of time.

Sun opposite moon in your case is considered good as sun and moon opposite can have a yin yang effect and balance each other out. This also depends on which houses your sun and moon fall on.

Venus and mercury aspects can show how you communicate with each other.

Venus and moon aspects are good for love.

Mercury and moon is good for verbalising feelings.

If his sun, moon, mercuy or venus fall on your first house or vice versa it can show compatibility also and a similiar outlook on life.

You can create a chart on there and then start from there and go on other websites and find meanings of the aspects between 2 charts. It might be easier if you learn looking at your own chart first.

1st- we do planet to planet analysis.This is basic energy for compatibility.
2nd-we do interplanetary analysis. This is complementary energy for compatibility.

Cancer and Libra sun.

You have different goals and purpose of living and often it seems that your goals are at odds with each other.

Both of you are sensitive to other people's remarks, but your differing reactions stem from your differing points of references.Luckily, he has venus ruled Libra Sun and this can help mend mis-understandings between you two but it is still challenging for you two to "get" each other.
