Weird topic - I know lolUsually the signs of the zodiac in both Western and Chinese astrology (and also in Mayan astrology) are represented by animals. I know we have Scorpio but the scorpion is technically *edit* an arachnid arthropod (even though people mistake it for an insect). In the spirit of appreciating insects - as they are so often feared & disliked.. could you think of an insect that represents your sign? So far I thought of.. Butterfly for Pisces: Praying Mantis for Scorpio: and the hard-working Honey Bee for Virgo: I can't think of one for my own sun sign in Aries lol
If you are looking for ideas, you may be interested in this: http://www.sundancechannel.com/greenporno It's a "show" by Isabella Rossellini. She dresses up as different insects (sometimes animals) & explains how they have sex. It's quite funny but also creepy and a little sad occasionally. ------------------ ex nick - CoralFrequency IP: Logged |

Nice one for Sag JupitersGirl! The lucky ladybug Peri - that ant actually looks like a bull lol! I think it's the photo angle.. or maybe its just me I'm divided on the Monarch Butterfly:
It could be a Leo symbol.. since it looks like royalty and has a suitable name lol
But it could also be a Sag symbol, considering its unique migration pattern.
quote: Monarchs are especially noted for their lengthy annual migration. In North America they make massive southward migrations starting in August until the first frost. A northward migration takes place in the spring. The monarch is the only butterfly that migrates both north and south as the birds do on a regular basis. Monarch butterflies are one of the few insects capable of making trans-Atlantic crossings.

I think of Scorpio as more of a spider. What about Pisces?? hmmm. Are there any two-headed insects? That could be Gem. lol. Cap would have to be a slow moving bug, maybe an earthworm?? This is fun. I think aqua would have to be whatever is the strangest looking bug... ewwww. who would be the gnat? buzzing around right by your mouth, impossible to catch, relentless....Aries?? No disrespect meant, that is my Asc. Libra has to be a pretty bug, but a butterfly seems to obvious, too showy...hmmm IP: Logged |

wow I love the Roly Poly for Cancer. How cute is that? Gypsee - I picked praying mantis for scorpio because it has great camouflage and the female eats (yes eats) the male after sex lol Now why did that make me think Scorpio? I like fireflies for Aries! LOL @ the gnat (yes we are annoying brats sometimes) Zoso - I was just explaining technically the scorpion is not an insect. The Scorpion + The Crab + all Insects are in the rank of arthropodes. *Insect* is a class in this rank. *Arachnid* is another class (this is the scorpion's) and the crab is in class: crustacea-malacostraca http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scorpion

Vapor-lash - wow I didn't realize that! So I guess black widow also wouldn't fit well in that case, praying mantis is a good fit! IP: Logged |

Scorpio's the Mosquito, of course, most deadly. I love the Roly Poly for Cancers, so cute! Pisces could be the butterfly but it seems Gemini gets branded that as well, the 2 have a lot in common. Leo, possibly Dragonfly, or Libra. Cute topic I love bugs.btw I love that honeybee picture above, so beautiful! IP: Logged |
