So, you've got "divorce aspects" (Mars/Uranus, Sun/Mars, whatever else, I forget) in your chart.

Are you guaranteed to get a lot of divorces? Should you just abstain from marriage altogether?

Wise words. Many different ideas about divorce. Many ways of making an astro chart/wedding chart that can help you stay together, but no matter what the chart, if someone doesnt want to stay together, they wont do.

I guess...look at the figures and see what comes up. Many stayed married in previous times, whether for the public or just to keep things safe. A lot different now. A wedding is like a Tuesday or Monday. That time of the week again. Anything real is a lot rarer than before.

No?

If you meet the person of your dreams and they want to marry you, wouldn't you feel really silly saying, "Nah, I have Uranus conjunct my descendant, I can't marry you."

It would be silly because Uranus on DC means very little. If you are talking good astrological reasons, then yeah, all is fine. Otherwise, what are we all doing spending time on here talking about astrology?

Maybe best in that situation to say "I just dont want to" and leave it at that.

I guess you wont like being convinced of the aspects, DD. Would you like to explain the reasons for your statement? You dont have to, if you dont want to.

I agree DD. I don't believe on it either. You always have a choice. If you get an transit or some mirrage or divorce SA/progressen and you still are in love... you can always use the both side in the aspect to develope the relationship or destroy it.

I just don`t think that one aspect alone will inevitably lead to divorce. And I don`t believe that it will be the same aspects for everyone.

I don`t doubt that there are aspects, whose astrological symbolism would also include the possibility of divorce.
Some Uranian aspect may fall under this category, but one Uranian aspect doesn`t make a divorce, just like one Venusian aspect doesn`t make a marriage.

Additionally I think that people may react differently to certain aspects, depending on their natal charts.
An Uranus-transit over Venus or the DESC may feel completely different to someone with DESCruler conjunct Uranus natally than for someone with let`s say Saturn conjunct DESC.

That is actually all I wanted to say with my statement.

Yes, there are divorce aspects, but they are only a *possibility* of divorce. It doesn't automatically mean you will divorce. If the relationship is strong, it won't ruin it, but if the relationship is struggling, then it *could* indicate the timing of the divorce.

If a person is going to have these transits, they can try to shore up the relationship's problems before or during the transit to try to avoid divorce.
It's like this with ALL transits. I tried to explain it with danger transits. No transit makes something happen that isn't already an issue.

Good post Diana!
Tr Uranus is conj Tiger Wood's descendant. He has done everything possible to attract a divorce but the latest buzz is that his wife is sticking to him. Astrology impels, never compels.
Uranus conjunct Descendant in the natal can also mean an unconventional spouse. Like an Orthodox Jewish girl from Haifa marrying a Gothic Rockstar from Bergen.

I have venus/mars opposite Uranus (wide)
and was married/divorced when Uranus transited my 7th house.

I am a believer in Uranus aspects/transits and their ability to break up relationships.

Like someone said before, I don't think one aspect alone will lead to divorce, but several aspects together in one chart most certainly might. I've never heard of aspects to the sun indicatind divorce, always heard it was uranus to moon and venus mostly and sometimes to mars. Also like mentioned earlier, uranus in the 7th house. If uranus is in the 7th AND in major aspect to the moon, venus, or mars that's when the real problems can come in. Another not much mentioned is venus in negative aspect to neptune because it can represent that restless, never ending searching for the ideal that is not attainable in this world when it comes to the love life. At 28 years old I've already been married and divorced twice, my chart:
Uranus conj mars in the 7th(close to desc)W/ uranus squaring the moon, venus square neptune.
