Well, everyone here knows well what AC (ascendant) and DC (descendant) are - AC represents our overall personality, and DC represents how we are with others, as well as our ideal partners.

But how much we are our ACs/DCs in the real life?

In my case, when I was little, I barely have any Virgo traits (I'm a Virgo AC), but now I became quite Virgo even thought I'm still very Aries inside (I have Aries Sun/Moon/Venus/Mercury). Also, when being with others, I'm often more like a Pisces, specially with people who I don't know well yet.

What about you guys?

Aqua Asc. Therefore.....
I can be fairly logical/rational/objective...on my own. Fairly Aquarian for sure. Of what partners I can remember, I was fairly playful at the time. Sure can attract attention and be a bit brash when interacting with the opposite sex. I have been known to show off.

This is a good question in regards to what area of the natal chart to look at.
As you mention we have our own personality, when we are settled/comfortable. Then also "other" situations when this personality may change. You mention partners, can also relate to how you interact with Dad (4th) Mum (10th) Friends (11th) Foreigners (9th)

I guess house 1 is the main focus.

I'm nothing like my DC-capricorn- not when I'm with others, and not when I'm alone

however, I do behave like my AC-cancer- when I'm with others. also like my venus-libra.

with people I know well I switch to my scorp sun-aries moon mode.

also if I want to manipulate someone I act like ac cancer or venus libra lots of compliments, underestimating myself etc

I'm very much like my capricorn ascendant. For a very few select people, I'll show some DC cancer traits (i.e. nurturing). However, no matter the situation, my capricorn ascendant dominates.

Thinking about this ... it makes sense to me.

My ASC in Scorpio: Yes, men are either rather repelled by me - or are obviously quite fascinated and/or attracted. Guess I come up as "hard to read" and "mysterious" at first sight - and people tend to mistrust me at first ... which often works as a huge turn-on (or turn-off!) to the guys. I am not popular or attractive "for the masses" in a way. But if a man is attracted ... huh, he will be intensely so (which can be a bit of nuisance for me - especially if I am not into that man at all, haha!)

My DSC in Taurus: Being in a relationship, I tend to hold on, no matter what. It's not easy to win my heart - but when you got it, it's yours to keep, for a looong time. (9 years was my longest running relationship so far.) I am stable, patient, even if hurt or deceived I CAN forgive - my love tends to be "stubborn", haha. I also develop some "homey features" like cooking and caring for my partners, in a rather classical, reliable, not too flashy way. I just love to cater for them a bit. And I like to share artistic/pleasurable interests such as music, arts, etc. (Taurus ruled by Venus). If it's over though ... it will be over forever. If my heart says "no", there is no way to "corrupt" my feelings. I'm the "either-or-type" in love. I am rather a (happy) single person, even for long periods of time (longest single phase: 2.5 years) or I rather go for casual superficial and fleeting erotic adventures (without emotions involved) than entering a lukewarm relationship ...

I'm Gem Rising but I already act like a Sag anyway because my Sun and chart ruler are in my 9th house. Additionally, the co-rulers of my Sun (Saturn and Uranus) are in Sagittarius.

Im a Capricorn AC and Im only Capricornish with people I don't know very well Im distant and stand-offish..

Then when I get to know someone better my Cancer side comes out, I get easily hurt by loved ones and people I care about way too much..but my Cap AC blocks all of it out..so people really never know when their hurting me..

..or it could just be my Virgo Sun/Pisces Moon reacting..

I act like my Aqua ASC in social situations but I am more like Alvarella's Taurus DSC in relationships... but that could be due to my Sun and Venus being in that sign, my Sun in the 4th house conjunct my IC.

Leo DSC .. umm I hate being the centre of attention but I love anything that sparkles. Edit: With people I am close to (family and close friends) I am very outspoken and my friends described me as a bubbly person.. so I guess that could be Leo DSC? In social situations I am more like Aqua ASC and have my guard up but I am always friendly and polite too. It's just with people I feel comfortable with I can be outspoken and say what's on my mind really

My Aqua ASC description fits me to a T though. I read one description that said that the way we dress is original and not really following the crowd, but in a way that we don't stand out as being too 'far out' or noticeable. I think that describes me. My bro the other day described me as alternative feminine. I wear some things that are in fashion and some things that are 10 years old mixed together. And I can wear 3 different black pieces and get away with it

haha its funny when people cant relate to their DC or Ascendent cause it just means they havnt found or seen that part of themselves.. haha

when i first found out my ascendent i was so really surprised. but when i think about it.. im very much like my rising sign. i have taurus rising and ive always been very stubborn. always told im very sweet but im very determined. i wont give up no matter what. my venus is in scorpio so im sure that adds in too. ive ALWAYS been drawn to art. for as long as i can remember ive drawn and made crafts and loved music. ive always loved food and hold a lot of sentimental value to my stuff.. i tend to hold onto things too and memories and people.

my scorpio descendent i can completely relate to 100% and i see it all the time. my venus and pluto are in their in scorpio (obviously) and their conjunct the descendent. im sure ive said this many times in other topics. btu i either attract or repel and ive had a lot of power plays and attracted a lot of dark and messed up individuals and artisic people too at that. when it comes to relationships.. i get very jealous. but i try working on that. i get suspiscous easily and ive had a lot of betrayals. yay

I don't see mine mentioned yet so I'll pitch in, Leo rising, Aquarius dsc..and I relate to the detachment of Aquarius since with the Leo I can only handle so much attention, and I really do put my heart into every single thing I'm a part of so after that I like my space and freedom, to me that's the Aquarius bit..I want to be able to breathe after feeling engulfed, I like my distance and romantically I'm pretty aloof, and the big thing with me is equality/quality of communication and I've had very non-traditional pairings. Also I'm weird (and have been called weird actually many times!) in the way that I stay pretty detached in relations because I'll view the courting etc. as if I'm watching a special on Animal Planet, so in that sense I view it all from the outside..it's a very Airy thing to think of.

Oh and to you Cancer risings! Youre very controlling like Capricorn, I see you all in action - but you probably dont realize it.
