This is the aspect interp for natal charts, so what do you think it would be for a synastry? In reading this I am thinking this is sort of where he and I "mesh" and are of similar views. This guy tried to kiss me New Year's Eve morning. So there must be some sort of Venus/Mars action in this aspect? My Venus is Q his Mars by 1 degree.

Venus Quintile or Bi-Quintile Mars

You are a creative person. You are most comfortable in an environment where people are creative or playful. A very plain and ordinary environment is boring and dull for you. You add color and spice to whatever you do, and you often prefer something that is made by an individual rather than a plain, mass produced item. In romantic relationships and marriage you are most comfortable with someone who is passionate, creative, or playful, and surprises you on occasion. http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/quintile_biquintile.html

If you can find 'em, there are a few threads on this. I started one a while ago.

They're good.

I read somewhere that Quintiles in synastry are "gifts". I will try to find it for you.

I was researching it and might have found the "gift" info on Astrology for the Soul.
http://astrologyforthesoul.com/qui5tylz.html

"I think if you don't look for quintiles, you're leaving out one of the most positive indicators in a chart for someone's greatest gifts or blessings, and, of course, we need all the blessings that we can get. So, for the sake of being a positive-minded astrology-student or practitioner, I think it's imperative to spot the quintiles. I'd say treat quintiles like a trine, only more unique and special to the person. Quintile people, in general, are very creative and/or very mentally brilliant, whereas trine people, in general, are more laid-back and able to play and enjoy R & R. The negative of the quintile is being overly mental or active, while the negative of the trine is in being lazy or undisciplined or ungrounded. "

Still trying to wrap my mind around how that translates to a synastry but it rings true in essence.

I will try to do a Google search with "Quintile" and "linda-goodman.com" .

Yes, it was Moses Siregar at Astrology for the Soul...

A quintile is a 72 degree aspect. It's based on '5.' If you divide 360 by 5 you get 72. '5' resonates with Mercury more than any planet; it's creative and magical. Any time you have a quintile, those two planets combine to form some very powerful magic and gifts. They are more interesting and unique than trines and sextiles, though also somewhat more subtle. If you want to find someone's gifts in a chart, don't forget the quintiles. They are very special!

Let's hear it for quintiles!

I think it's one subtile and good aspect. I never count this aspect. I think it's enought with all the other.

Found a thread from LindaLand...

"The Quintile is the creative, willing risk taking, playful and joyful dimension of the relationship.

If you find these there is joy to be found in the relationship. It might be through children, through work or just simply enjoyment of each other and a common involvement with arts, music etc. These people are prepared to take a few chances, and will tend to lay it all on the line to each other so there is indwelling honesty. This is where the love affair can continue into old age. It is a solar kind of energy and if it's between personal planets, they each shine and bask in each other's glow. It occurs in partnerships in artistic fields. Individually they may be mediocre but together they're dynamite. They bounce off each other, feed each other, inspire and resonate off each other. The vibration is wonderful. It brings the facet of playfulness to the relationship, a childlike quality that means there is an area, which is fun. So, of the minor aspects you can't do better than a quintile. It's the Best Friend energy that can keep a relationship alive and vital. But it goes a little further because it empowers the individuals to be creative and fruitful within the relationship."

From this thread (other minor aspects listed with info as well) http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/012505.html

What kind of orb would you use with quintiles and bi-quintiles? I'm guessing would need to be super-tight.

Zero orb, up to 3'? How far would you go in natal vs synastry?

Hi Stellia, With quintiles and biquintiles I use up to 2 orbs personally but with noviles and septiles 1 orb. I suppose some astrologers may argue that you can go a bit wider with Quintiles but to be safe I use a 2d orb.
