Which is more accurate or the better one to look at: your synastry aspects with someone or your composite chart?IP: Logged |

They're two different ways of looking at the relationship. The way I see it, synastry shows the dynamic that each of you brings and how you touch, affect each other, and the composite shows your dynamic together, what you create together. My preference is synastry. I'm not really a fan of composites. It's a personal thing. Some people swear by composites. IP: Logged |

The composite is how the relationship looks and functions. The synastry is "Why" it looks and functions in that way.IP: Logged |

Synastry - shows where two people are compatible.Composite - shows how the relationship's dynamics are. Both are actually complementary. Astrology should be consistent, which means that different methods should show complementary/similar information about a relationship. But it depends on how good an astrologer is to be able to extract the right information from these methods. About the Davison method - many people mentioned that the composite chart based on the physical midpoint method can't be real, simply coz it's not a real chart (with even "unreal" aspects, like Sun opposing Venus). But then if a method based on the time midpoint is valid, then how can a method based on actual physical midpoint not valid? Also, isn't actually denying the very theory of midpoints itself also implying that the time midpoint theory isn't valid as well, since it's also about midpoints? But well, each different method can offer us useful insights. But again, it depends on how capable an astrologer is in different methods.

Planets that fall into other people's houses is part of synastry and just as valid and adds more flavor to the reading. Same with the houses in a Composite.IP: Logged |

Houses in the synastry can show how we perceive the other person, like for example, if someone has his Sun falling in my 8th house, then I'd relate him with the 8th house issues. But then you have to understand if a certain house overlay is actually really good/bad for the house person - after all, what good would it do that someone's Sun falls in my 7th house, if it makes a lot of squares to my planets? So you have to combine aspects and house overlays to get a more complete picture.IP: Logged |
