During these few years, I've learned a lot about astrology and different methods. I can't say that I know a lot, but I've been thinking.. I've been learning astrology mostly for my own use, but how many times did I really help others?
I've been really lucky to have had the help of a few really rare insightful astrologers, and they have been helping as much people as they can, without charging anything.

But well, one of the main problems about helping others with our own astrological knowledge is, how can we be sure if our knowledge is correct? And how is the right way to do it?
It is easy for me to analyze a person/relationship I already know, but then how can I be sure about what I see in a chart of a completely unfamiliar situation? The problem is, if we can't help correctly, we might either feed illusions/fantasies or unnecessarily traumatize someone (or even kind of destroy things that were supposedly fine). And this would specially be true with people who aren't familiar with astrology at all (they would see astrology in a more fatalistic way, and they can't really check if we are right or not since they don't understand the symbolism at all).

So how about you guys? How confident you are with your astrological skills in helping others? Do you worry about what is the best way to help others?

This is going to be quick..

I give my friends like starter sites such as cafe astrology, astro, skyviewzone that way they can read up on astrology for themselves and the things they do not understand I try to help them with.

I guess I just give them the tools and let them use it as the wish and I tell them to keep in mind to be a bit skeptical and use common sense lol.

Like my Aries friend had a Cancer boyfriend and she asked me are Aries and Cancers good together and I responded, does he treat you right? Does he have ambition? Do you guys see eye to eye?..

She eventaully answered her own question in the end.

If you are talking about doing readings for others. I was told by another astrologer The best way to learn is just to jump in there with the knowledge you have and do your best. Start with friend first then when you feel more comfortable move on to doing readings for others.
What beter place to do readings than here at LL among friends.

A really easy way to test your abilities to read charts is to get a variety of charts of semi-famous people whom you don't know much about. Read each chart in as much detail as possible and write your findings down. Then get a book about that person or look them up on Wikipedia and see if your findings match up with their life. It's easy to do, and there's no "harm" done if you read something incorrectly. You'll learn by doing, and when you have been able to successfully read many of those charts you'll feel confident to read for other people.

Whatever combination of methods works for you. The methods you feel most drawn to use are the ones that will allow your intuition to come through. To me, astrology is 50% astrological knowledge, 25% psychological knowledge, and 25% intuition.
