I was just wondering if anybody else in this forum has read this book before and comment on what you thought of it.

I am particularly interested on thoughts regarding the authour's view of the 1st, 6th and 12th house in a solar return chart, where he goes on to say that if the ascendant, a stellium or the sun of a solar return is in one of these house you can expect to have a very 'burdensome, dangerous, critical and gloomy year in one or more aspects of your life'. Also he says that the 11th house is correlated with death and bereavement much more than the 8th house which mainly refers to money.

Just wondering what you guys thought of the book if you've read it...

I haven't read the book, but I would be skeptical of such ominous assumptions from an astrologer, especially in regards to the solar return, its better to interpret the solar return and the natal chart together to see how they aspect each other.

He also says that Mars in the 12th, 6th or 1st house of the solar return chart is enough to spoil a year that elements of the solar return chart or other transits made out to be a very good year.

Also that when reading a solar return chat he suggests that you only consider a few but extremely important elements

a) in which house oh the natal chart the ascendant of the SR is in
b) in which house of the SR chart exist a stellium (if any) of the SR
c)in which house of the SR chart is the sun of SR located
d)which houses of the SR are occupied by the malefics (especially mars) of the SR

and then and only then do you consider other positions of the celestials in the houses of SR. He also says you should assign minimal importance to the aspects among celestials in the SR.

I bought his book abut 2 months ago and quite frankly he is pathetic.

He is negative about everything and claims death, suffering and severe illness and whatever in everything!

His book is enough to make you a permanant hypochondriac.

He claims almost every aspect is deadly and chronic. Not good for any virgos.

He claims that majortiy of the planets in the 3rd house mean accident or car problems or death of aunty or uncles and blah blah.

The only aspects he likes are jupiter in 10th. Or SR ASC in 10th..

Belgz, I thought this book seemed quite negative about most aspects as well. In having said that I haven't read all of it yet, but I have read most of the solar return interpretations and alot of it does seem rather negative. Glad it's not just me who thought this. You're right about Jupiter in the 10th and SR ASC in 10th, oh and I think he may like Jupiter in SR 12th also

Same here
especially now that I don't use zodiac signs nor houses any more

I just look at aspects in the solar return chart.
(in ecliptic longitude,right ascension,and declination)

I look at natal planet, points conjunct the solar return planet, points
(in ecliptic longitude,right ascension)

I would also look at natal, points parallel the solar return planet, points in declinations

I will check the geocentric planetary node aspects in the Solar Return
(both in ecliptic longitude and Right Ascension) - no more than 2 degree orb

I will check the heliocentric planetary nodes in the solar return chart with the solar return geocentric planets, points
(both in ecliptic longitude and Right Ascension)- no more than 2 degree orb

also look at Solar Return planets, points conjunct the natal geocentric nodes
(both in ecliptic longitude and Right Ascension) - no more than 1 degree orb

asteroids, transneptunians(including Pluto),centaurs w/ their nodes are extra. I use smaller orbs for them.

That's my new way of looking at Solar Returns,Lunar Returns

Free will is the ultimate factor.
