I have my Moon conj Algol and I've never really looked into it, but now that I am the results seem a bit unnerving. Any insight into this? Will my head randomly fall off or will I be choked my my scarf (i.e. Isadora Duncan?).

I am not one for doom-and-gloom, but this one actually got to me a little.

Personally, I'd rather see this as a sign that I can really feel the pulse of the dark and seedy parts of life on earth. I can sympathize with victims of abuse, violent attacks, etc. At least that's how I'd like to see this conjunction. Please tell me I'm right.

Like I said, It's kinda unnerving.

Moon @ 24'29

Ah, I thought it said 25'29. I was trying to keep the orbs tight (1deg) but mis-read it. Oh well, it's still an interesting thing to learn about!

Just for the heck of it:
Moon squ Mercury (Leo)
Moon opp Saturn (Scorpio)
My moon is also in my 5th house

I should be notice if it works. I have stellium jupiter/varuna/horus/algol/philia stellium. I've never notice something in my life to that stellium.

Now solareclips 15 jan should make it work. I've also my SA/PR MC conj the stellium. My SA PR Sun trine the stellium. All the transit from chiron/nept/jupiter in aqua square .... For me it's not work.

I cant't see anything in my own reality.

According to Bernadette Brady's books on Fixed Stars,Algol is female passion. It's the Gorgon's head as in Medusa's head that Perseus carries. In Greek mythology, Perseus slew Medusa by cutting off her head.

The star is located in the constellation of Perseus which is located off the ecliptic.

That means that Algol is not in a true conjunction to your Moon. True conjunctions only occur when the objects are on the ecliptic. The same goes for true oppositions.

Therefore, it's possible that it might not have much effect. Therefore,it might be nothing to worry about.

not necessarily

some think of Algol as a 4th Lilith

it could be about feminine power.

Algol has a very positive manifestation of empathy and creativity, often comes up in the charts of famous musicians. An excellent case study is Eric Burdon (chart) of the Animals. He has a stellium of Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Uranus ALL conjunct Algol.

thanks for that funkstar!! first positive sighting for algol in my wanderings! and i am a musician(algol on IC), as was my dad (sun on algol) my grandson (moon.algol) and my daughter is a fantastic singer who just won't go near trying to BE a singer if you know what i mean, CHIRON on algol...

i know a few other musicians who have algol connections too. will have to tip them off!!

but lord, eric's chart is amazing isn't it? looks like he did exactly what HE set out to doesn't it?? all that 5th house taurus, the stellium conj algol AND mars square algol. even chiron is sextile it. well he's had his troubles especially with drink but he's still in there s(w)inging...

edit: like the blog!

i think nearly all the Beatles have Algol on something. That synastry with your family is just amazing. it's confirmed that link to music for me definitely. might be good subject matter for another blog! of all the stars it is Algol that seems to get most of the attention because of the "evil" stuff said about it.

something else interesting, Rudolf Hesse was close to Hitler, he was also an astrologer. when he defected and flew into Scotland, it was the same night as Eric Burdon was born. anyway, Algol is supposed to give a deep empathy with human suffering, and ex of mine had part of fortune on algol and she couldn't handle anything on TV about sick kids or tradgedies and disasters.

yes..and a lot of LLers, not all musicians, have algol prominent in their charts...we have discussed it and the possible link to the holocaust etc but so glad to hear it has musical connotations too...the fixed star blurbs tend to be a bit fatalistic and frequently contradictory too!

i like the feminine connection too.

I was out and about for a couple of days, and this thread has grown! That's a good thing since I'm not knowledgeable on algol.

Anyway, I do have a thing for not watching the news as well. It hurts too much. The nightly news was bad, but especially now with the constant earthquakes in Haiti. My tv is either set to cartoons (for my son) or it's off.
