that whole pastlife stuff for the south node is something that western astrologers came up with. That's mainly for the south lunar node. Most astrologers ignore the nodes of objects other than the moon.

In Vedic Astrology, the South Lunar Node is known as Ketu.

it means the following:

Ketu (Sanskrit: केतु, IAST: ketú) is the descending lunar node. In Hindu mythology, Ketu is generally referred to as a "shadow" planet. It is believed to have a tremendous impact on human lives and also the whole creation. In some special circumstances it helps someone achieve the zenith of fame. Ketu is often depicted with a gem or star on his head signifying a mystery light.

Astronomically, Ketu and Rahu denote the points of intersection of the paths of the Sun and the Moon as they move on the celestial sphere. Therefore, Rahu and Ketu are respectively called the north and the south lunar nodes. The fact that eclipses occur when the Sun and the Moon are at one of these points gives rise to the myth of the swallowing of the Sun and the Moon by the demon snake.

In Vedic astrology Ketu represents karmic collections both good and bad, spirituality and supernatural influences. Ketu is associated with the Meena Avatar (Fish Incarnation) of Vishnu. Ketu signifies the spiritual process of the refinement of materialization to spirit and is considered both malefic and benefic, as it causes sorrow and loss, and yet at the same time turns the individual to God. In other words, it causes material loss in order to force a more spiritual outlook in the person. Ketu is a karaka or indicator of intelligence, wisdom, non-attachment, fantasy, penetrating insight, derangement, and psychic abilities. Ketu is believed to bring prosperity to the devotee's family, removes the effects of snakebite and illness arising out of poisons. He grants good health, wealth and cattle to his devotees. Ketu is the lord of three nakshatras or lunar mansions: Ashvini, Magha and Mula.

The people who come under the influence of Ketu can achieve great heights, most of them spiritual.

The Lunar Nodes are also interpreted differently in Uranian Astrology and Cosmobiology

NO : Lunar Node :
MANIFESTATIONS : Connections. Relationships. Contacts. Links. Encounters. Touching. Couplings. Unions, Alliances. Common bonds. Togetherness. Personal relations. Bonding.
MED/CHEM: The navel. Body joints.

Because Uranian Astrologers and Cosmobiologists focus on only the hard aspects like the conjunction, opposition, square as well as the semisquare and sesquiquadrate, they don't differentiate the north and south lunar nodes. They just refer to the north lunar node as the Node

for example

I have Saturn/Uranus midpoint conjunct the South Lunar Node, but the cosmobiologists and uranian astrologers would just refer to it as Saturn/Uranus oppose the Node. or they would write it out as Saturn/Uranus = Node. They use the equal sign for all the aspects. They don't differentiate aspects like mainstream astrologers do.

Hi, South Node can represent what we already have and are comfortable with, although it's not good for us to stay there, as we have to move on to our North Node. But moving on doesn't mean abandoning everything of it - instead of abandoning our past, the lessons we learned are actually important for us to move on.
So you don't have to completely abandon your Aquarius side. See what traits are healthy and what traits aren't, and leave the bad ones while using the good ones to help you achieve your North Node lessons.

My North Node is in Taurus, and ironically my chart is kinda Scorpionic. There are some unhealthy Scorpionic sides I have to overcome in order to reach my North Node's lessons, although what I've learned with my South Node is still important for my path.
Fear of loss and obsession are bad, but understanding the value of deep connections in relationships is one of the lessons I don't think I should forget.

Wow, I was just journaling about this very thing yesterday.

Comica, I'm the same, Taurus NN, and Scorpio SN.

Here is what I think so far. Strictly from my own experience.

My Father is a Scorpio. My Grandfather was a Taurus. My Dad and Mom abandoned me into my Grandparents care when I was two months old, and I saw my parents maybe a few times a year, for the first 13 years of my life.

Anyway, My Grandfather was my primary care taker, as my G/Ma was an ill woman.
I learned many lessons from this man, he was my greatest teacher and a great love in my life.

However, I still and always desperately wanted my Fathers love.

So, now that I am older,, I see things this way...
We vacillitate between the two.
I married a Cap man, who was very similiar to my Grandfather. I know that I do need security and dependability to overcome the obession of being abandoned.

However, there is a part of me who still searches for these same types of men, over and over, that were like my Dad. And, they always have something major in Scorpio.

Part of the thrill is not knowing weather or not I can keep them, which keeps me in a constant state of emotional turmoil (thus reminding me of childhood, which even though was bad ~ it's still what I know, and what I can deal with.)

So, yes, there is fear with change, with any growth lessons. It's in our power to change anything we want, but it's not always our desire to do so.
As it is not my desire to overcome the familiarity of the SN, even if it does bring pain.
Maybe some day I will desire it, but as of the present I do not see that happening.

I am too bound up in the fear that the stability of any NN person I may encounter would be too boring for me, and I would end up hurting that person, so I would rather hang out in my SN, and just hurt myself.

....Just some midnight ramblings..!

This is very interestng to me too

i have SN in my 3rd house with Jupiter, uranus and neptune there in Sag.

Felicitas is also there.

i feel very confortable in my surroundings and very attatched to my family and nearby people.i like the familiarity and the closesess we have all with each other+s.

it is where i find confort.

If i look at my 9th Gem as what i should be heading...well i love philosophy and to writte.and would love to travel in vacation.but if you ask me to live abroad..i couldnt do it...it wont give me joy or happiness to stay away from my loved ones...

So i do wonder if the SN is all that karmic and bad like representing what he shouldnt be doing...?

Lunar Nodes are what astrologers refer to as "nodes"

It's because most astrologers ignore the nodes of all other objects except for the lunar nodes.

nodes are just the intersection of the orbital paths of 2 objects.

therefore, you already know the placement of your lunar nodes. They are "the nodes"

hým ok.in google ;so it is the same with true node..and it my NN in leo in 8 th house.

Northern node in Leo, southern node in Aquarius

Karma : you have a tendency to hide yourself in a group, to block your creativeness.

Dharma : you have to find the courage to express creativity and to accept to distinguish yourself from the group you belong to. You have to accept leadership roles. Later you should give the others the results of your creative expression.
