I was looking through an old reading journal and came across this quote from Siddhartha: quote: Yes, it was true, everything returned again that had not been fully suffered and resolved; it was always the same sorrows being suffered over and over.
I started thinking about how our natal charts can illustrate what those sorrows are for us. If we keep experiencing something, it's because that experience is within us. We're the common denominator. So our issue can be seen in our chart. I think many people go their whole lives suffering the same thing over and over. Many don't even recognize the pattern they carry within, let alone fully suffer and resolve it. Or maybe we never can move on? Maybe there's no such thing as resolution? I personally think there is, and that's what I'm interested in hearing about in this thread. Do you see in your chart astro symbolism for a recurring issue, and have you gotten to the point where that issue has been fully suffered and let go? Can you use those astro energies in a creative new way, instead of being stuck in a loop? IP: Logged |

I've often thought this. I attribute Saturn - sign and house. Just through my own experience and observations of my own life and patterns, and interestingly, those of my family (parents) as well.IP: Logged |

People seem to have similiar things on their minds lately.I have thought of this alot in last few months. This is only one aspect in my chart, and I just literally wrote it 5 minutes ago, but I think it's relative to your question. But besides this, I have notebook pages of my ramblings of why I do this and why I do that. Reminds me of a quote in a movie, it may be 'Vanilla Sky' but I'm not positive on that. The quote was simply, "everything is just a version of something else." http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb//Forum24/HTML/203150.html IP: Logged |

Yeah actually if we keep attracting certain pattern of situations over and over again, that aside of the outside/environmental reasons, we are the one who are attracting such situations. It's important that we are aware of those patterns, and then try to understand what in us is causing the repetition of such situations, instead of just assuming that it's not our "fault". How can something be not our fault nor our responsibility... isn't that like saying "i'm not really me?"I agree PA - saturn all the way! I hate saturn but i've learnt that you've got to become best friends with him IP: Logged |

I think there is resolution if u accept that there isn't.I find a struggle to strike a balance between a ***** and a puritan, and also between a misanthrop and a sociable person this is reflected in my chart. I think the first stage is denial IP: Logged |

I believe this may be related to Saturn Seven cycles. You must constantly tame your demons and strive to be refined... This is no easy task and I imagine the victory is sweet and the eventual reward...indescribably magnificent. Darkness and negativity breeds on failure and stagnation. You will face temptations and you must seek assistance through prayer and meditation. You must earn your wings to fly into freedom...the ultimate...unbounded...unlimited...achievement. The lotus in bloom is luminous even though it has grown through the muck...and by grand design its roots are very strong. Seek the LIGHT and you will be the LIGHT.IP: Logged |

What an insightful quote being related to astrology!I am unsure if the chart pattern can actually be suffered and released in this lifetime. Arent patterns supposed to be repeated? Or maybe transferred to positive representations of the aspect? If they can, I would like to release my moon sq mars; they give me quite a bit of trouble. I am not even sure how to channel them positively. Maybe viewing an aspect negatively is a sign of contention. Lets say if someone has a 7th house aspect that gives them some difficulty in relationships, will that be repeated throughout their lives - thats what I wonder. IP: Logged |

I agree with Lara and pire. Combining the two I can easily say that I have denied the influence of Saturn for years. He won't let you do that to him, though. Tricky little beeper.IP: Logged |

Leaping - you are spot on about the Phoenix analogy. The Scorpio influence in the outer planets for many recent generations poses quite the need for "rising up, transcendence, rebirth. The only direction to ascend is UP and the temple should always be rebuilt better and stronger. Pire - I do so relate to the sinner/saint battle. You must embrace the entire you of you so to speak to see your true beauty. (a dark night of the soul experience) Yes, I see I am greatly challenged by my Pisces/Virgo sun/ascendant combo. I also have Pisces Sun, Mercury and Saturn all in the 7th house. Interesting synchronicity that I stumbled upon the song "The Impression I Get" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones this morning. Check out the lyrics sometime.IP: Logged |

Interesting thoughts, guys. I watched Oprah a lot when I was a kid. She often said that in life if you don't learn the lesson the first time, it'll keep coming back, bopping you on the head harder and harder until you get it. So I was always on the lookout for lessons. I liked the responsibility, since it meant I had some say in how my life went. This philosophy has helped me avoid a lot of cr@p in life. I also have a hyperactive Pallas. Finding patterns is my thing. I grew up with parents wounded in their own ways (who didn't), and saw how those wounds kept them from so many good things in life. It was frustrating and heartbreaking to see, as a kid, what was holding them back, and yet they didn't see it themselves. Or even if they did see it, they didn't know how to change. As I've matured and gotten more into astrology, I've gained more compassion for people being stuck. It's so difficult to change because you can't leave behind who you are. But I do believe that people can learn and change. Otherwise, what's the point? What's the point of Nodes in astrology if we have no direction? Nodes imply movement in our awareness, rather than stagnant being. I also believe in reincarnation. Life after life until enlightenment. But if there is no evolution within each life, there can't be evolution over the course of many lives. That growth has to happen each time we live. Alternatively, we could learn in spurts: many lives of ignorance and then one where the issues covered previously finally come together and make sense. In any case, growth has to happen at some point if there really is an evolution of the soul. I've had my own repeated sorrows. Interconnected lessons that I've been learning over and over. In the past few months I've seen with more clarity than ever before from where inside me those issues come. I'll get to that another time though. Shocking news: It will be a long post! IP: Logged |

Jane, we walk similar paths and share many beliefs. The "Thunderbolt Path" is not an easy one, time to seriously study to pass the test..time to settle Karma and not create new bad Karma. You can shape your destiny by your God given greatest gift of Free Will Choice. Hence the ancients advice to "choose wisely." My final words of hope and FAITH, as Linda Goodman always reminded people, "EXPECT A MIRACLE."IP: Logged |

I've been thinking about patterns, looking back and seeing where I could have easily dealt with something much sooner (from the viewpoint of a somewhat healthier 'me', though). I had something astrological to post, but I can't remember it (I've been up all night, and am tired). One thing was my nodal axis and the planets aspecting them; the other morning, I was thinking about my Mars in the 4th, squaring my Moon, Venus, Nodes and Vertex, and wondering about how they all worked together. It's interesting that Mars is in the 4th, and how most of my travelling has come through my moving with family (including back and forth, overseas - my NN is in Sadge).
