Bon soir fellow astrologers.

I am presented with a dilemma. I have been presented with a lead part in a student film about a group of dirty punks. I auditioned for this ages ago, and didn't get it, but they emailed me tonight asking me to take the job.

Now, when I auditioned one of the requirements was appearance and hair alterations ("punk" style). And when I didn't get it, I made the decision to grow my hair long, which I am in the process of doing now. But... if i agree to take this part again I know i'm going to change my looks radically and chop everything off which i DON'T want to do, but it's just the way i work! I either do it to the fullest, or don't do it at all.

So i did a horary; leaving this to the Universe!

Tell me what you think:

Go for it. It's hair - it grows back.

Look at Charlize Theron, Vincent D'Onofrio, Clooney, and all the others who have gained weight for roles. And didn't Cate cut off all her hair for a movie too?

Nike, girl - JUST FLIPPIN' DO IT.

I would expect such a response from Miss Aries!

Normally i would have no reservations but.. as part of my Scotland Scholarship application I have to submit a photo of myself, an interview, and then eventually representing my school. I think if i change my looks this radically it will hurt my chances of receiving the scholarship.

Sad but true, i think..

Hmmm - then make it a shorter cut that you can spike up and on off days, can just leave down.

I say weigh out your options in general.

It's only a student film (50/50 it could totally flop), so personally I wouldnt.......unless,

1) (If this film turns out well), it is afterall a LEAD role, which would make you a great folio piece. However, if your confident you could land tons of other student films as lead or supporting actress...then meh.

2) Invest in a great wig, cuz people who do a lot of acting/modelling...yeah, will probably have to change hairdos alot. A wig will come in handy for situations like your scholarship.

3) When is this film being shot?? and when do you have to make an appearance for your scholarship?? Even if you get the first haircut (I think the blond one's the best of those 3 pix)...give a month, it could grow out into a pixie/halle berry cut with a bit of trimming on the long ends.

Agent,

Exactly! All of these pros and cons are running through my brain.

It would be my first time acting in a student film, and would be a great experience AND great to start my demo reel off on.

The scholarship photo is due February 8th, and the interview would take place mid-Feb. Shooting begins February 5th.

Problem with a wig is that i'm b-r-o-k-e. Books are expensive! The only way i could even get the haircut is by using the university salon and charging it to my account.

Well, if you cant afford a wig...opt for a cheap hat ($10-20) to cover the funky short hair. Though the hat is going to have to be a bit more formal & your going to have to dress girlier to counter-balance the short hair.

Maybe something like this (shaped, riding hat look)...with short skirt, black stocking/leggings & knee high boots. Makes a very Twiggy, or Edie Sedgewick kinda modelesque look.

I'll answer your question according to the horary chart.
Your ruler is Venus and it's less than 5 degrees close to the 5th house, so it's considered in the 5th house of art and creativity. Cutting your hair for art is a 5th house (artistic) issue and the ruler of the 5th house Saturn is in the 5th house conjunct the ascendant even if the ascendant is in early degrees. Venus and Saturn are in mutual reception, as well as making a sextile.
With all these positive indicators, according to the horary chart, it's a yes, you should cut your hair for that part .

Bonjour ma cheri!

Go for it! Think about it this way.. some months from now, what would be your biggest regret - cutting your hair or missing out on this opportunity?

You'd look awesome with short hair anyway. I'm sure you'll love the experience.

I like your hairstyle choices. My favourite is no.3 - I think that would look best for the play. I love no.1 but it makes me think "futuristic" rather than punk. No. 2 seems tamer. I like the colour, but it lacks the edge I see in 3.. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the horary help and personal advice!

I think i've come up with a loophole:

I have to send in a photo of myself with the initial application-- kinda like a headshot for an audition. Then they look me over and decide if i'm... something-enough to bring in for an interview. So i'll send in a photo of me NOW, and if i go in for the interview with a platinum mohawk i can explain to them that it was for a student project. Hopefully they will think that i'm just a very devoted worker, and worthy of the scholarship.

I is excited! Thank you all so much! I have to talk to the team about our budget, so i know how much money can go toward my hair. I might have to bend over the sink in someone's basement Chop Shop BUT i'll keep you posted about my new 'do!

I just found this thread, and I was going to suggest you do just that: take a picture of your hair now for the school, and worry about the rest later.

I've been looking around, and i like these as well:

I like the thicker "mane." Makes me feel more girly. I've also been debating about color.

Bleach blonde? Dark Red? Burgundy? Has anyone ever colored their hair these colors before? What were the results? The damage?

And any suggestions are welcome!
