short term, most likely. long term, it depends on how much patience & self-control they have. they'll bring out each other's insecurities and she may be a bit emotionally harsh to him. but im sure he likes the Ego Boost of having a much younger woman's interest.

Lonake quote: long term, it depends on how much patience & self-control they have.
I thought the same thing due to the Saturn squares. quote: they'll bring out each other's insecurities and she may be a bit emotionally harsh to him.
I agree this is a possibility due to her Saturn square his Moon. On a side note - Everyone in my family and several family friends have long-standing marriages with a semi-sextile sun person. Mum (Leo) & Husband (Cancer) Mum’s ex – Virgo Sun. Mum’s friend (Cancer) and Husband (Leo) Mum’s other friend (Taurus) and Husband (Gemini) Dad (Aquarius) and his wife (Capricorn) Grandma (Libra) & Grandpa (Virgo) Family Friend (Aries) & Husband (Pisces) I can’t list them all but the list goes on and on lol These are LONG relationships, but not my style. After having witnessed this particular type of relationship so many times growing up - I'm a bit put off personally. I almost ended up in a semi-sextile marriage myself, with a Pisces guy. I’m really glad that didn’t happen. It depends on what you're looking for. In time these relationships evolve into a funny "Marie & Frank" from Everybody loves Raymond.. *type* of couple. I recently realized this is not what I want at all IP: Logged |

Hi Vapor, you noticed semi sextile relationships? Are they by actual degree, or just by sign, I wonder? I wanted to say that I would think too it'd be more common than not, as they're more likely to have personal planet conjunctions than with a sign that is farther away. Sun conj Merc, and Sun conj Venus (like the above) being the most common, so too my beloved Mercury conj Venus. I have such a thing for those personal planet conjunctions but I can see for some they can be seen as so confining. The everybody loves raymond, that's a sort of "being comfy while bickering" couple, correct? Noooo, doesn't sound like much to aspire to! Hmm, but I bet they're incredibly honest with each other, or are they just too high in age to be able to stand for any BS? IP: Logged |

Lonake - quote: Hi Vapor, you noticed semi sextile relationships? Are they by actual degree, or just by sign, I wonder?
As far as I remember they are mostly not by degree. My mum & her SO are almost sextile by degree. He is very early Cancer and she is very late Leo. The Aries/Pisces couple are conjunct by degree. Their Suns are close. I think my grandparents would have the semi-sextile by degree (18th of oct. & 17th of sept.). I have to check the others. quote: I wanted to say that I would think too it'd be more common than not, as they're more likely to have personal planet conjunctions than with a sign that is farther away. Sun conj Merc, and Sun conj Venus (like the above) being the most common, so too my beloved Mercury conj Venus. Exactly! All of these couples have personal planet conjunctions. I started a thread in "Astrology" years ago about this. It's titled "If you..." - my nickname was Lauren. It's bumped somewhere on the first page. All of the Piscean men I've attracted have Aries Mercury/Venus, or Venus & Mars. One has 4 planets in Aries (Moon,Merc,Venus *and* Mars lol) quote: The everybody loves raymond, that's a sort of "being comfy while bickering" couple, correct?
Yes, that's correct. Don't get me wrong. These relationships *are* loving - as Diandra said also. They last years and years and sometimes a life time (in my experience). They are by no means "bad". It's just that I've seen it so many times in my family. I'd prefer to break the pattern lol Before I knew much about astrology I nearly stuck to the pattern accidentally The part I don't like is that they all seem like "friends" to me after a while. They're like buddies. Other things die down. You asked about age.. My parents and their SOs are all in their mid-40s -- so they're not that old. They do love each other but I wouldn't say they are in any way romantic or "in love". They're really more like friends living together. I watched some of these relationships beginning.. like my dad's and my mum's .. Dad's marriage began when I was about 10.. and mum's when I was 14. I remember them being in love in the initial phases.. but the dynamic between them (in both couples) has changed drastically. I'm 23 now, so it's been a few years in both cases. I am convinced that neither will divorce their partner. These relationship are good overall, just not as sweet/passionate/loving as I would like.. in my "perfect" scenario. I'm also pretty Uranian in my thinking. My Mercury squares Uranus.. so I like the idea of breaking this pattern in my family lol..
quote: Noooo, doesn't sound like much to aspire to! Hmm, but I bet they're incredibly honest with each other, or are they just too high in age to be able to stand for any BS?
Yes they are very honest with each other. I see these relationships as GOOD - HONEST friendships, with the added spice of bickering.. but usually bickering in a hilarious manner. Each of these couples could make a sit-com easily lol There's just something missing for me.. *shrug* IP: Logged |

Adam,Be careful here. He's got a lottttt of important planets in her 11th house. She maybe thinking of him in a friendly, light way... but then again, there is his Moon in her 8th, and Mars in her 12th. She's a Scorpio Riser, so she's not going to put herself out there if there's a chance he might reject her. I'd get his birthtime if I was you. That's the best way to really figure out how they affect each other. IP: Logged |
