I have seen aspects being put down as + and - points on web sites like cafeastrology.

examples:
1. 753 -1595 = -842
2. 1365 -68 = 1297

if you look at this, it seems like couple 2 will outlast everything n couple 1 won't. couple 2 love each other and get along really really well. But I know for a fact that even tho' couple 1 have issues, their love runs very deep.

my question is:
does this point system really indicate if the relationship will last or not?

or are certain aspects more powerful than others and can be binding even if there are other negative aspects?

I guess what I'm trying to ask you is: does excellent synastry indicate that 2 ppl will be together for this entire lifetime?

No.

The only thing that guarantees a happy lifelong relationship is a Selfless Male who wont cheat on his girl, and who strives to be the best of what his chart indicates.

The girl can be phenomenal, can be a Wonder woman, can be evergreen and "everhot" but many cads will still manage to break her heart inspite of having great synastry.

I believe that also goes for females too.

There are a lot of females that cheat too.

the gap betweem males and females that cheat is closing

I would include also:

The only thing that guarantees a happy lifelong relationship is a Selfless Female/Male who won't cheat on her/his guy/gal, and who strives to be the best of what her/his chart indicates.

The gal/guy can be phenomenal, can be a Wonder man/woman, can be evergreen and "everhot" but many cadettes will still manage to break his/her heart inspite of having great synastry which is relative.

So all that stuff that applies to males would apply to females too.

this would also apply to not only heterosexual couples but also homosexual couples.

soulmate, twin flame couples can be homosexual couples too and not just heterosexual couples.

IQ. I like your definition of what a male must be in order for a happy lifelong relationship. I should very much like to accomplish this in my life.

Hi SeeingStars,
I am 100% certain that you are in the top 0.01% category of good men in this planet.
Someday one gorgeous, delicious and vivacious Scorpio is going to be very happy to be Mrs Seeingstars
[I wrote this cause I recalled you are a Cancerian, correct me if I am wrong... and now I must duck for cover from any non-Scorpio who is fancying you....]

IQ
I like your comments about the Selfless Mate. Sometimes,I feel hopeless when I have aspects which seem hard(personal or synastry)
I like that free will can overcome hardship.
Thank you! Ami

Beautiful, yes faithfulness and loyalty. Just read this morning from "Many Happy Returns - The Lives of Edgar Cayce" by W.H. Church, pg. 50
...Remain faithful, therefore, unto the end; gaining those joys through daily acts of selflessness for and with others, remembering that in these manifestations they (and all souls) become knit one with the other. (288-6)

Synastry shows where two people are compatible, but I would take a look on the composite to check how the relationship would be.

I agree with IQ/Glaucus.

And progressions can indicate length of a relationship as well.

Freewill has always been one step ahead of Astrology when it comes to sustaining or breaking relationships.

With two reasonably ethical human beings, positive Saturn aspects and a positive Pluto-PROSERPINE aspect can sustain a marriage till transit Uranus hits the composite descendent. At that point, the male has to be of legendary cricketer Sir Donald Bradman's calibre to sustain the marriage. Had the great Don been a baseball player, he would have easily hit thrice as many home runs as Babe Ruth.
He had a happy 71 year marriage inspite of umpteen travels abroad and matchless fame in all commonwealth countries.
