Hi there,
I have read some material on assigning roles in composites (on cafeastrology.com) and I pressume it can be done with Davison's as well and was wondering if people could post any additional information/personal experiences in regards to this...
Apart from that, I am also wondering, more specifically-
Is it as simple as the woman feeling the moon aspects more and the man feeling the sun aspects more? What about the fact that the sun is supposed to be the basic energy of the chart then? what about other aspects?
I have also read that you can use overlays between the composite/davison to see where there are major aspects between the two and use that to help identify "roles" if you will, but what about if the two people involved have very similar charts (either lots of conjunctions or similar aspects)? If you have other ways of attempting to figure this out, I'd like to know as well!
Thanks!

I have read that Sun and Mars representing the man, Moon and Venus representing the woman.
I have also read that in Davison the ruler of ASC represents the elder person, the ruler of DESC represents the younger person.

I donīt believe any of it.

I had someone do a composite reading recently and he could say who was playing which role in the relationship by using this method. It was the most accurate reading I've had of that relationship over many years. Not that the others weren't good, but it was SO specific.

I would have said the same thing as DD before that one. When I asked him how he knew which person was which he told me that he was looking at the masculine planets which represented him and the feminine which rep me to see how they were interacting.

Eighth,

I remain sceptical, but open.

But what do you do in composites betwen two females or two males? What if a woman is very much in tune with the masculine side of her personality?

The reason why the masculine planets can often represent the man and the feminine planets can often represent the woman in an heterosexual relationship is coz men usually reflects the male energies/sides of the relationship and women tend to reflect the female energies/sides of the relationship. This is not always like that of course, but it often tends to be that way.

Comica,

you may be right, but really, my Aquarius Moon feels like someone rakes fingernails across a chalkboard, whenever i hear that.

Besides I have more often found this to be untrue, than true.

I have never met a woman who didn`t express her Sun in some way.

Maybe it differs according to the natals?
Since Mars is conjunct my ASC, this Mars is MINE, I will express it all on my own and donīt need a man to do so for me.

Maybe we ARE drawn to the complimentary gender, but I still think that we "own" our complete chart and express those placements and aspects in some way.

And if I look at my Dad, for example, I can easily see how he expresses his Taurus-Moon, and there is no doubt about it, that my Mum expresses her Scorpio Sun (along with her Virgo-Moon,Venus and Mars).

The husband of my best friend is a Cappy, but I guess everyone knowing him a bit and knowing astrology could identify him as an Aquarius-Moon quite easily.

So I think I must disagree from my own experience.
