Thank you for posting this, DD. You're one of the wiser members around here , may I ask you a question? It's about a specific Vesta-placement I recently found in someone's natal chart. This person has a ... changeable, fickle love life, to say the least. And I wonder to what degree these Vesta-aspects might contribute:

person's VESTA (Gemini, 10th house)
cj. Jupiter (ex.)
sextile Sun (1 dg)
trine Mars (2 dg)
trine Karma (1 dg)
trine Circe (1 dg)
square Venus (1 dg)
square Chiron (4 dg)
square Eros (3 dg)

Do you have an idea? And maybe ... concerning my own Vesta as well?

My VESTA (Virgo, 9th)
cj. Sun/Jupiter (2 dg)
cj. Mars/Jupiter (ex.)
cj. Venus/Pluto (2 dg)
sextile Vertex (2 dg)
sextile Aura (2 dg)
sextile Destinn (2 dg)
sextile Pinocchio (ex.)
sq. Circe (ex.)
sq. Actor (1 dg)
opp. Pallas (1 dg)
opp. Hera (3 dg)

EDIT: *** And: What can we learn from yours? ***

Alvarella,

I am still trying to wrap my head around Vesta, myself.
Well, as of know I think that the keyword for her may be "dedication" or "focus".
Also, if we consider her pre Greek roots, she relates to sexual rites, including the Sacred Marriage; at least it would make sense.

Personally I think she also relates to Kundalini Rising.

I was just yesterday thinking of the asteroids that may have an association with Kundalini and so far I have come up with:
Kaali, BML / Lilith, Inanna / Ishtar, Isis and Vesta.

Kaali = Indian
BML / Lilith = Hebrew
Inanna / Ishtar = Sumerian
Isis or Sekhmet = Egyptian
Vesta = Greco - Roman

Anyway I disgress.

"person's VESTA (Gemini, 10th house)
cj. Jupiter (ex.)
square Venus (1 dg)
square Eros (3 dg)"

Let me concentrate on these.
Does he have a Venus-Eros conjunction or Venus-Eros opposition? That alone would indicate someone who could be pretty insatiable in regard to what he views pleasurable, most probably involving eroticism or sexuality of any kind.
And now with Vesta-Jupiter-conjunction in Gemini in 10th house.
If we associate Vesta with sexuality, then it gets very much enlarged by Jupiter here. Jupiter expands everything it touches, so it gives a great sexual (Vesta, also square to Eros) appetite (Jupiter), which is expressed in Gemini ways; it could be either someone who can`t shut up about sex or who is as you said a bit fickle, like a bee flying from one flower to the other. And all of that in 10th house makes it pretty visible or public I guess.

Of course probably we can interprete that combination differently, but I just focused on the sexual implication, that you hinted at. So you actually prepared the interpretation.

"My VESTA (Virgo, 9th)
cj. Sun/Jupiter (2 dg)
cj. Mars/Jupiter (ex.)
cj. Venus/Pluto (2 dg)
sq. Circe (ex.)
sq. Actor (1 dg)
opp. Pallas (1 dg)
opp. Hera (3 dg)"

Ever considered having passionate (Venus/Pluto), highly energetic (Mars/Jupiter) and generous (Sun/Jupiter) sex (Vesta) with an actor from another country (9th house), which would be magical (Circe). But take care that his wife or sister aren`t there (Pallas and Hera).
Just kidding.

Vesta in Virgo in 9th house - diligent dedication to your studies and philosophy?
Maybe sexual interactions while you are abroad? With a foreigner? With someone who shares your philosophy?

Vesta on the midpoint of these Jupiter-connections which are tied to two masculine planets, so you really like men?
Or maybe it does mean that through your dedication or sexual associations you can express your own strength and Yang-energies in a non threatening, rather enthusing way?
Having sex like that or dedicating yourself to a field of study would energize you?

EDIT: *** And: What can we learn from yours? ***

My Vesta is on 1 Capricorn in 1st house:
conjunct Sun-Venus-mp (ex.)
conjunct Mercury-Venus-mp (ex.)
conjunct Demeter (ex. only by 1 minute)
conjunct Knight (ex.)
conjunct Boda (2)
conjunct Tristan (2)
conjunct Stonehenge (ex.)
conjunct Sindbad (1)
conjunct Chaldaea (3)
conjunct Gilgamesh (ex.)
sextile Uranus (ex.)
trine Telephus (1)

Sabian of Vesta (and some of the others) is a very worrisome one:
Three Rose Windows In A Gothic Church, One Damaged By War

Boda, Chaldaea and Tristan are both on:
A Group Of People Outfitting A Large Canoe At The Start Of A Journey By Water

Knight and some others are on:
An Indian Chief Claims Power From The Assembled Tribe

And Gilgamesh is on:
Indians On The Warpath. While Some Men Row A Well-Filled Canoe, Others In It Perform A War Dance

And all of that then leads to
Venus on 6 Capricorn (5 degrees off Vesta, 2 degrees of Gilgamesh)
A Veiled Prophet Speaks, Seized By The Power Of A God

Osiris on 7 Cap
In A Sunlit Home Domesticated Birds Sing Joyously

Isis on 8 Cap
An Angel Carrying A Harp

Spirit and Guinevere on 10 Cap
A Large Group Of Pheasant On A Private Estate

How would you interprete that?

DD - thanks again - for your input on my two questions!

Case 1 ("the other person"): Yeah, you're right on target here, of course . "Insatiable", bordering to "childishness", very aggravating for any woman who starts to develop deeper feelings for him ... In fact, his Venus is OPPOSITE his Eros - and also opposite his Chiron. (He has that Chiron-Eros-cj. in his 7th house, 3dg conjunct to his DSC - he will never get "cured" from this, and the organisation of his erotic life takes a lot of time and energy from him ... actually, SEX seems to be the "purpose", aim, goal in his life - and I do believe that he hardly can ENJOY it, not in a permanent way - he is so driven and restless and so dissatisfied so quickly ... actually, his sex-life means "stress" for him. But that's HIS problem, haha) *** edit: Actually, he is NOT a good lover! He's doing it quite mechanically ... and always in the same stereotype way... Huh, blushing***

As far as my own Vesta goes ... again, you draw some valid conclusions ... YES - I do appreciate a rather "conventional", classical "heterosexual" appraoch to sex, and I tend to be attracted to virile men, "Men in suits" are really my favourites, they must be "intellectual" or at least "witty" - actually, I tend to be turned on verbally easily - he has to choose the right words, must surprise me with his mind. And I don't mind to mingle with a foreigner (actually my first and my last BF have been foreigners...). Still ... I am not the submissive type at all, consider myself to be "an intellectual capacity" myself, haha, and can't stand to be tied down, neither emotionally, nor mentally.

Huh, and YOUR Vesta ... that is a difficult question, because I am not soooo used to work with Sabian symbols and I didn't know some of these asteroids before, so I haven't developed an instinctive "feeling" on these ... (like Gilgamesh etc.). Vesta in 1st in serious-minded Capricorn tells me: PRIDE and HONESTY are important to you. Conjuncting your Sun/Venus and Mercury/Venus: You need some air of DIGINITY around the matters (love affairs), in order for you to take delight in INVESTING your personal power and devotion into such a thing. You're no "light-weight", you may tend to be "intense" in quite a discreet way. Vesta sextiling your Uranus (which is located in your 3rd or 11th house, probably?): You have a spirit to "share" - with your surroundings, friends, with likeminded people, or, better said: You like to gather original, genuine friends and acquaintances ... And SOMEHOW I get a gut feeling, that you don't mind your (sex-)partners to be on the mature side, a bit older than you. You might be "turned on" and/or infused and enthused by some sort of "original wisdom" brought to you - by someone whom you need to be able to count to your "closer circle of friends" first. Your Vesta-energies MIGHT come up as a bit shy/serious, at first glance. You need trust first - THEN you don't mind taking a trip to the wilder side...

Am I fantasizing?

Alvarella,

That was a good analysis!
I think that Sabian as well as the asteroids of places like Stonehenge or Chaldaea (Gilgamesh was the Sumerian epic) could indicate past lives. At least I am pretty sure to have had a past life in medieval England.

"esta in 1st in serious-minded Capricorn tells me: PRIDE and HONESTY are important to you"
Yes, Definitely. Integrity is another.

"You need some air of DIGINITY around the matters (love affairs), in order for you to take delight in INVESTING your personal power and devotion into such a thing. You're no "light-weight", you may tend to be "intense" in quite a discreet way.!"
Yes, I think that is true. I also need time. Well, I probably fall in love quickly, but I can run around for a long time without even being aware of it. And I always have many reasons in my head why it is NOT a good idea to fall in love (of course at that point I usually already have fallen. lol).

" Vesta sextiling your Uranus (which is located in your 3rd or 11th house, probably?):"
Uranus is exactly conjunct the 11th house cusp on 1 Scorpio.

" You have a spirit to "share" - with your surroundings, friends, with likeminded people, or, better said: You like to gather original, genuine friends and acquaintances"
Yes, that is definitely the case.

" ... And SOMEHOW I get a gut feeling, that you don't mind your (sex-)partners to be on the mature side, a bit older than you."
Hmm. Yes. But I have also felt attracted to younger guys - but maybe that was my Gemini DESC. It`s a different kind of attraction.

"Your Vesta-energies MIGHT come up as a bit shy/serious, at first glance. You need trust first - THEN you don't mind taking a trip to the wilder side..."
Yes, trust is absolutely important.
Also, I can wait for an eternity. I don`t know if that is persistence or patience or just plainly inflexibility though. lol

"Am I fantasizing? "
No. Not at all.

DD,
I always thought it was interesting that my North Node was conjunct my ex-husband's Vesta, and we were married for 25 years.

And guess what? My North Node is also conjunct my guy's Vesta!

So I can see that all those keywords do apply...dedication, focus, commitment, sacred sex, sacred marriage.
