I read something years ago. It stuck with me as a memory, somewhere in the back of my mind but I can't for the life of me remember where I read it.I thought it would be interesting to see how accurate it is for other people. It is definitely accurate for me & my own chart. The gist is that if you have an exalted or dignified planet in a particular sign - this planet "takes over" all the other planets you have in that sign. It kind of becomes the superstar of the sign - and the other planets follow suit. I believe this happens with my Piscean Mercury. I feel it's very taken over by my Jupiter (also in Pisces). Jupiter is traditionally dignified in Pisces so it is stronger.. and it gives my Mercury a Saggy feel. My ex has a Saggy Merc - we have similar views on many things. The same thing does not occur the other way around. I wouldn't say that my Jupiter has a Gemini feel - in virtue of this conjunction.. It also works for my Mars in Capricorn.. I think it takes over my Moon and my Neptune in Capricorn. Often I've read interpretations of the Mars-Nept conjunction stating the person could be "lost" or a bit "head in the clouds".. I don't feel that way. I have direction, which tells me Mars is stronger than Neptune.. My Moon is also affected as it is more optimistic and cheerful than the typical Cap Moon stuff I read would suggest.
So I'm wondering if this works for you knowflakes.. Do some of your planets feel taken over? PS. Also - it makes no difference whatsoever to this whether the planets are in conjunction by degree. For example - if your Venus is at 1 degree in Sagittarius and your Jupiter is at 20 degrees Sagittarius.. technically Jupiter should still *take over* - based on what I remember reading. IP: Logged |

interesting!i'm curious what you'd make of my mercury/mars conjunction in aquarius. they are 2 seconds apart! my sun's in aqua as well (4 degs from these two). i'm not sure how i would apply your theory but i'm forever trying to figure out this pair. i'm pretty passive as a person; my mars is definitely not something that comes out often; i've always thought perhaps the mercury talks my mars out of it all the time! i've read it can be a pretty mean conjunction with an overfocus on martian persuits, when in fact i'm sort of the opposite. i was severely abused by both my (very martian!) parents and i've always been very pacifistic, almost to the point of masochism. annnnyway, your theory is interesting and i wonder if maybe that's what's up for me with regard to these two badboys. woahcity - cool! So Mercury, being exalted in Aqua should be the strongest influence.. You Sun and Mars could both seem Geminian as a result. Do you feel like you have a strong Gemini bone? quote:

Me thinkz - you are a highly Mercurial person.. always putting thought before action and emotion. You're very mentally alert and talkative. Your manner of defending yourself is always through verbal means, never physical.. and you are quite witty and quick with the comebacks. You could be interested in a variety of areas some of which are completely disconnected, so you may be a bit like a jack of all trades. But your primary concern is humanitarianism. This means a lot to you, and your manner of helping or changing the world is through your words. Maybe you'd like to write a book or become an ambassador for a particular cause. Many people tend to me know aqua woman,i always known as a rebel in high school and university  ..Sometimes i can become very detach person and i can die for my friend..(also mercury scorpio in 11 th house )
and in public i can shock everyone suddenly,as if electric comes to my mind..it is really interesting..
And in my chart also many libras i have got,so my sun usually hidden..

OMG. I have been invaded by Jupiter. It is in my 9th house which is Sag, which means it is exalted . But my Sag house has venus, merc, neptune( ruler of my Asc which is Pisces) and the Sun is also in Sag if I go by the equal house system. My MC is also in Sag.
I know I def have the "foot in mouth" disease. But does this mean that my venus, sun merc and neptune are all sterile?IP: Logged |

I have mars in aries but nothing else in this sign but Eros. There isn't a sport that I wouldn't try...I think that may be a manifestation of it.  My temper isn't the best either...LOL.IP: Logged |

Very true, Exalted and dignified lights/planets will always have added strength. Now if you have your exalted Sun etc. ALSO in it's exalted degree ~ then you have a *superstar* IP: Logged |

Hey Lonake,
So what happens with my other planets in Sag if Jupiter is exalted? Do they lose their power? Mercury is the ruler of my 7th with Venus, does it mean that I will always be short-changed for love because of Jupiter?
I have always been lucky as far as jobs are concerned. Just when I give up hope a better offer lands in my lap, but I have had no such luck with love. Can I exchange this job luck to love luck?

I have mars in exaltation and jupiter (singleton even!) in fall in Capricorn. I do feel quite cappy sometimes but I wonder... could this be because of the exalted mars taking over, or because of my jupiter in fall which is also my chart's ruler? (or ruler of my rising)Hmm... Wasn't Uranus exalted in sagittarius? Or was it Neptune? I forget. I thought I had another planet which was exalted. Anyway, of the planets I have exalted or in their own sign, I don't find they overpower my other planets much, really. And those planets that should be in fall, I find to be just as strong (in mercury's case even stronger) as the rest of them... ------------------

zang! sorry vapor, i totally forgot about my participation in this thread.wow you are not far off the mark with that one at all. curious, how would i be geminian? never heard of that correlation before.. one thing i am not great with is comebacks, in a stressful setting. partly cuz i never want to hurt/offend (venus on AC?) and partly cuz feeling mad is lame (a lot of this is cuz i had to turn-off feeling mad to survive as a child, and cuz i witnessed far too much rage to want to have it be part of me at all- neither of which is particularly healthy i'm sure). i do tend to channel it into humanitarian persuits, at least in theory (since i'm home with a 4 year old all day). and there is something in me that really really wants to write a book. which would pertain to injustice in the world, in some shape or form. i also have osiris exactly conjunct these two as well. heheh. just fyi. Hmmm. Can't really say... I have Mercury conjunct Sun in Aquarius, and some say that Mercury is exalted in Aqua. But it is also in accidental detriment by being in the 9th house. I'm a Gem Rising so Mercury is stronger in my chart than my Sun anyway.Other than that I only have Venus exalted in Pisces and no other planets (just MC and NN). IP: Logged |
