Topic: Synastry or Composite?

For me to look if some people love each other is enough to have Synastry Chart.
I don't know what for we need Composite? There are some terrible Composite Charts and people are still together. Why both? B. ------------------

What is more important? Synastry or Composite?
if synastry is good but Composite is bad?
people will stay together?
or

I prefer Composites, but most people use both (or at least if they're going to use a Composite chart, they're also going to look at the synastry).IP: Logged |

I`m the opposite of Amowls, I prefer synastry.Most say that synastry shows the potential compatibility / attraction of two people to each other, while composite shows the relationship itself.

Synastry shows the potential compatibility between two people, while composite shows the potential trends of the relationship.
Synastry can show where two people can be compatible and incompatible, while composite can show where these compatibilities and incompatibilities are surfaced in the relationship.But well, composites are more than just the "visible" aspects - aspects to/between midpoints are also relevant, that some positive/negative issues of the relationship that are not so obvious at first might be shown through these aspects. DD,I have the same opinion.
Synastry is the mirror of love or no love.
I have seen very good synastry and very bad composite (by same persons). In fact I know only two things about Composite:
Sun in 5th is good (with good aspects)
Venus in 11th is good (with good aspects). B.

DD, yeah. X3 For example, we can check the midpoint of Moon and Saturn to check where the devotion is and what lies between the couple, or the midpoint of Sun and Venus to see where the love and affection is or how is it being affected. Also, Sun falling in some midpoint can also show where the chore of the relationship is focused.For example, in my composite chart, Sun falls in the midpoint of Moon/Saturn and Mercury/Jupiter. this can show that we can be both devoted in the relationship, and that there's joy in communication.
Also, the midpoint of Mercury and Venus squares the Sun, which can show affectionate communication. In the chart, Mercury is the AC ruler but isn't really aspected in Aquarius and in the 9th house, that without the consideration of the midpoints, we could never see where our affectionate and joyful conversations are actually shown. Of course, maybe Jupiter opposing Venus can show joyful relation, but not exactly the affectionate communication. I use an orb of 2 degrees maximum for the aspects to/between midpoints, which might seem a bit weird (as we are used to hear that only 1 degree is used for midpoints in natal charts), but personally it seems to work. People, people, You have to remember to do the synastry between the composite and each person's natal:
How is the relationship as a whole affecting them, what are they getting out of it?
This step is frequently ignored.
Try it with a relationship you know well, not of strangers.
If your're unsure how to interpret, think of the composite planet being like a new natal aspect for the person, if their Sun is conj composite Venus, in effect, theyre getting a great Sun conjunct Venus high from being in that relationship. Is anything aspecting that conjunction from their natal or that composite, keep looking at the aspects.
Composites have their worth, yes.
Simple synastry natal to natal will not tell you much at all if you do not have a grasp of each person's natal dynamics.

I looked up some midpoints in a composite. (2 degree orb) There is a triple conjunction of Moon, Mercury and Venus in 1st house; those planets rule the 5th, 7th and 8th house. Sun/Moon conjunct Venus and NN
Sun/Mercury conjunct Venus and NN
Sun/Venus conjunct NN
Moon / Venus conjunct Mercury
Mercury / Venus conjunct Moon
Moon/Saturn opposing Venus and NN
Moon/Pluto square Jupiter
Mercury/Saturn opposing Venus and NN
Mercury/Saturn squaring Jupiter
Venus/Saturn opposing NN
Venus/Pluto square Jupiter
mars/Jupiter square Pluto
Mars/Uranus square Jupiter

These midpoint aspects seems really nice for the affinity and mental/emotional attraction. I'm not very sure how to interpret the other ones, since I'm still very green at interpreting composites, specially composites from the relationships I don't know about. But generally I try to interpret the aspects by combining the meaning of the planets involved in a midpoint, and then how this combination and the planet are affecting each other.IP: Logged |

Yes, these midpoints reflect the fact that there is a wide stellium, with some closer conjunctions in 1st house.
Moon 22 Sag
Mercury 22 Sag
Venus 24 Sag
NN 28 Sag
But they are also indicative of the "problems" in that composite, the opposition to Saturn

The last case is very interesting. He is medical doctor and 1996 has just started to work. Before that he was in China and Sri Lanka to practice more acupuncture and traditional medicine. He was also told that such a kind of work is the right for him (here, Jupiter in his 6th). When I came to his ordination, he told me it was destiny that I came to him. He also told me, I have to read the book: The Celestine Prophecy. I did!
We have talked about Astrology; he didn't look my diagnosis, but asked me if I could tell what Ascendant he could be? I told right away: AC Scorpio. They have Chinese, deep eyes. He had it. That was right. During the therapy we have talked a lot and I didn't think about him as about some man, I could fall in love. Because of age difference, maybe! Beside that when I have pains I don't think about love. When the therapy was finished (it wasn't better), he told me to call him any time (I didn't have phone, but had it at the work). He told me also: he is free (single) and has no children.
As I have started with Astrology the year before, my first interest was Synastry. When I came home, the first thing was to draw chart (with the hand) and in that moment I fell in love with him. That was strange for me, as in my life there was always love at the first sight. It was and happened in May. I have called him from sea side, in September. He was very lucky to hear me. Later I have called him once or twice a year and few times he invited me for a coffee. I didn't go. It was funny he always knew where I was. The worst thing was: I was dreaming about him four years. The last dream was; he came to me with twins, children. After that dream I have called him (last time) and asked: does he have twins? He told me, he has two sons, but they are no twins.
End of 2000 was all over; my dreams and calls. B.
