it depends on the system

Hamburg School/Uranian Astrology,Cosmbiology, and Noel Tyl Astrology focus heavily on midpoints. Midpoints are crucial in that system. Without them, the system wouldn't work well.

Magi Astrology uses midpoints too. They definitely use Chiron with midpoints. That's like their superplanet. However, there are over 60 centaurs in our solar system. If they use Chiron, then why not those other centaurs. Some of the most notable ones are Chariklo,Nessus,Asbolus. Chariklo is larger than Chiron too.

Hamburg School/Uranian Astrologers use hypothetical transneptunian planets, and they use them with midpoints too. They are Cupido,Vulkanus,Hades,Apollon,Kronos,Admetos, and Poseidon.

all the systems use Pluto with midpoints, but Pluto is not even a planet. It's transneptunian dwarf planet. Pluto-Charon is a binary dwarf planet system. There are already 3 other classed transneptunian dwarf planets that include Eris,Makemake, and Haumea. It would be logical to include those with midpoints if you use Pluto. There are also transneptunian dwarf planet candidates which are objects that are large enough to meet the criteria for dwarf planet status. Some of those objects are Sedna,"Snow White",Orcus,Quaoar,Varuna, and Ixion.

There is also the asteroid, Ceres which is classed as a dwarf planet. It would make sense to use it in midpoints if Pluto is used.

Declination midpoints are used in both Cosmobiology and Magi Astrology.

If that's the case, I believe that Right Ascension midpoints can be used too.

Right Ascension and Declination are longitude and latitude coordinates of the equator. Astronomers use those coordinates regularly unlike most astrologers.

What most astrologers use and astronomers don't use is the coordinate of Ecliptic Longitude, and they don't use Ecliptic Latitude. Many astrologers combine Ecliptic Longitude with Declination.

I believe Ecliptic Longitude,Declination, and Right Ascension are valid coordinates to use with midpoints.

conjunction, opposition, square, semisquare, and sesquiquadrate are usually used with midpoints
Magi Astrologers also use the trine, sextile
Noel Tyl Astrologers also use the 165 aspect that Noel Tyl calls "the quindecile" aka "contraquindecile" and "johndro"
Hamburg School/Uranian Astrologers also the 22.5 series aspects
