I really don't get what a progressed chart is...what is it exactly

I was on astro.com I got a progressed chart of 1st Aug 1987

Even though my natal chart is cancer....9th july 1987

What exactly does this mean? I have no bloody idea lol,after all these years of studying astrology

DOES THIS ALSO MEAN: You can use your own progressed chart to compare to someone else natal chart as a form of synastry right, to see what other relationships are there?

Maybe you also met someone significant? A very sexual type of relationship?

Well, I can't see the chart anymore, but what jumped out at me was p.venus on n.mars or vice versa. I recall venus ruled the 10th, 5th, and 6th houses and mars ruled...I don't remember what house it ruled.

All that can point to a new job or lover.

The p.venus (or mars) on n. venus (or mars) is a potentially very sexualized aspect. Not necessarily love, but sex. Could be love, but less likely. Be careful someone doesn't just want you for sex unless that's what you want too.

How did you work that out, I am really curious.....this the chart for the year coming 2010...and what is about a new job (that I am really interested in)....or anything else you wanna tell me

Its another way besides transits that help predict events. If you were 20 years old, youd make a progressed chart by looking at the chart 20 days after you were born. There is some debate about whether you express the personality depicted in your natal chart or the progressed chart.

Solar arc charts are similar. If you are 20 you move every planet in your natal chart 20 degrees forward.

These charts should always be compared to your natal chart to get the most accurate predictions.

I explained how I worked it out in my other post...

I don't use progressed alone, usually, but Progressed to natal. In your progressed you have a lot in the 8th. So sex is most likely in your future and on your mind.
