I can understand why transiting Neptune square Sun was interpreted like that. There tends challenges reflected by hard Neptune transits.
Neptune has to do with dissolution like dissolution of boundaries.
Sun is the ego,the "core" of a person, the vitality
so with transiting Neptune square the Sun, it can indicate the ego boundaries are being dissolved, becoming so sensitive like a sponge that there can be issue of needing to differentiate what's your stuff and what's other's stuff. Hard Neptune aspects are said to indicate oversensitivity, psychic overload.
This transit calls for you to make effort to be grounded to avoid losing touch with reality due to your sensitivity controlling you instead of you controlling your sensitivity.
You can do that through meditation, listening to gentle/soothing music like New Age/meditation music, getting massages, drinking herbal tea like chamomile tea, and just plain relaxation.
Transits like those are the need to be careful and avoid confusion, deception, illusion, impracticality
the body can be more sensitive at this time, and so things like food, drink might affect you a lot more. There is also possibility of some type of health issues that might be hard to pin down. It's common to be misdiagnosed during these transits.
If you avoid confusion, deception, illusion, then it could be good for being compassionate, mystical, creative, spiritual, artistic, inspirational
also it depends on what else is going on too whether transits, secondary progressions, and solar arcs.
BTW
I don't agree with those transit time spans.
I don't know how they do that stuff.
I just look at when major transits are within 3 degree orb applying and within 1 degree orb separating. I will look at within 1 degree applying for an event to take place that relates to the transit.
that period takes much less than that time period.
