From the bit I've learned regarding synastry I understand that between two chart comparisons, the strongest in order of importance would be: 1) the actual planets aspecting one another and the angles. 2) House overlays between charts. Showing where one's planets fall in relation to someone else's chart. My question is this, what if person A's planet, say (Venus in Scorpio)and person B, (Mars in Aries) make no strong aspect to one another and aren't placed in each other's "relationship" houses, yet person B's Mars falls natally in his OWN 8th house (ruled by Pluto/Scorp). Would there be some sort of mutual affinity or connection between the two? Even though Mars in Aries would be expressed differently, wouldn't it being placed in the 8th house give it a scorp vibe and would venus feel or notice that? How would that be felt between the two? And as far as importance in synastry, how important would it be in relation to the first two? If it even has a place at all? IP: Logged |

Hmmm, scorpio and aries are both rulers of mars, so there is an affinity, but if there's no contact then the mars/venus aspect is not highlighted. Scorpio and aries are quincunx, so there is friction, but later (just like all negative aspects, like the square and opp) that friction can cause conflict because the quincunx is a very difficult energy to work with. If mars fell in your 8th, that could be passionate, but unless there are other aspects to mars, there won't be that kind of intensity that venus/mars carries.

To answer part of your question--I have a Gemini stellium plus Cancer moon in the 8th house and I feel very Scorpio like. Ami IP: Logged | |
