Libra Full Moon today, March 29

Venus rules today under the Libra Full Moon which culminates at 10:25 pm Eastern time. When the Moon is full, the light of our emotional interior as described by the Moon is more powerful than the light of the conscious mind as represented by the Sun, and there is a culmination of our hopes, dreams and desires. In Libra the Moon craves partnership, balance and harmony. There is a longing here for integration and a need for connection and peace.

The Libra Full Moon is opposite the Aries Sun, which is primarily driven by a need for self-assertion. The Aries Sun seeks leadership and adventure and a positive expression of the aggressive instinct. Under the influence of the Full Moon, this brash individuality must be balanced with the Libra desire for peace and harmony.

Pluto forms a challenging square to both the Sun and Moon in the chart of the lunation, suggesting that something must be surrendered in order for transformation to take place. Whenever Pluto is involved there is a call to strip away the fluff and emerge naked in a state of Truth.

At its core, the tension between Libra and Aries is the need to achieve a balance between the Self and the Other. This is one of the major defining principles of life on Earth, and any imbalance in this area of our lives at this time will be revealed now as something to work through and master. Pluto's goal is to bring us into our full empowerment, and in this lunation (lunar event) any power imbalance in relationships of any kind will be revealed.

Venus is in a nearly exact harmonious sextile to Neptune during the lunation, and very tightly sextile to Chiron as well, strengthening its influence now. Venus and Neptune are closely related; in fact Neptune is often called the "higher octave" of Venus. Where Venus represents love and affection, Neptune's domain includes what could be called "higher love" - divine compassion and transcendence of the human limitations of love and relating. There is a flowing creativity present in this lunar event that will be very useful for dreamwork or spiritual experience through conscious intent.

Venus is also exactly, to the minute, in a semi-sextile (or 30 degree) aspect to Uranus which suggests the need for adjustment as something new and different (Uranus) enters the picture and begins to create change.

This Full Moon is the culmination of a cycle that began with the New Moon in Pisces two weeks ago. We began with a focus on an inner flow that transcends personal experience, and now we find ourselves in a balance that is very strongly personal - the balance between the Self and the Other. Any kind of spiritual balance requires conscious attention and presence, and today's Full Moon is a particularly beautiful opportunity to find that balance.

Full Moon in Libra, March 29-30, 2010

One month ago, just before the Full Moon in Virgo, a mega-quake struck Chile. There have been aftershocks daily as the Earth adjusts to the new alignment.

Our personal lives are undergoing a series of shifts and aftershocks, too. Monday's Full Moon at 9 degrees Libra is the culmination of a cycle of readjustment as we leave behind old ways of being and doing so that we can move ahead into new territory.

This Full Moon and the New Moon in Aries on April 14 mark the halfway point between eclipses in Capricorn and Cancer, and we are at a critical turning point. With the Moon in Libra opposite the Sun in Aries, our main focus will be on how we balance our own needs with those of others. This is never easy, particularly if you have been raised to put others before yourself.

Many of us are rethinking the load we are carrying and how much additional weight we can support when others don't do their part. How willing are we to keep doing a job that's not ours? This could apply to picking up someone else's dirty socks, constantly bailing out financially irresponsible relatives, or, for that matter, bailing out banks with our tax dollars. At some point, we just can't do it anymore.

Women of my generation were raised to put husband, kids, boyfriends, boss, and everyone but themselves first. Old patterns don't change overnight, but there will be some reckoning on this count, thanks to Venus, the ruler of the Full Moon, in me-first Aries. Admittedly, she's not at her best in Aries, precisely because the divine feminine she represents is expected to be soft, sweet, conciliatory, and other-oriented. Well, forget that!

At the same time, Mars, ruler of Aries, is in ego-centered Leo. Now, Leos, don't take offense. As I wrote in my weekly forecast, there's nothing wrong with a healthy ego, and that's part of my point here. A strong sense of self is prerequisite to so many things in life, and it can make relationships a lot easier when you directly tell others what you want and need. That doesn't mean you'll get it, but at least you'll be clear about why you're fighting. People often don't want to be direct about their needs because they fear confrontation.

You probably won't be able to avoid conflict right now, so you might as well speak up for yourself. The Sun and Moon are in a cardinal T-square with Pluto, and retrograde Saturn is part of this configuration, too. I've written a lot about the changes coming as a result of this T-square, and change simply can't happen without conflict. Globally, conflicts are heating up and moving toward a boiling point in the next few months.

For now, though, we're attempting to restore some semblance of balance after being knocked off our feet. Make that your goal between now and the New Moon in Aries, when new directions will be more apparent. We'll need to be ready to hit the ground running and change on a dime.

One last consideration is that Venus and communications planet Mercury are in a close sextile with Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius, reinforcing the message that the way to deep healing is by communicating your needs and desires. Again, it doesn't mean you'll get everything you want, but you certainly won't get it if you don't ask.

The Sabian symbol* for the Moon at 9.17 Libra is a canoe approaching safety through dangerous waters, with the keyword COMPETENCY. Simply put, the more you go through challenging situations, the better you get at handling them.

For the Sun at 9.17 Aries, the Sabian symbol is a man teaching new forms for old symbols, with the keyword INTERPRETATION. Ancient wisdom isn't written in stone, but is subject to continual reinterpretation as humanity evolves and expands in conscious awareness. And what we believe deeply impacts how we connect with the world and everyone in it. Changing our fundamental beliefs is part of the global shift that's taking place.

This was a bitter-sweet moon for me - on the one hand, I got a new, well=paying job and all else is well. On the other hand, I have been thinking about an ex the past week. It was building and today I feel it very strongly.

I should check my transits.

Funnily enough, past lovers have been text messaging me wanting to catch up, some for sex, others for simply catching up in the hopes of leading to a renewed sexual relationship.

Usually cos of my Libra Moon I just sever all contact or just keep deflecting from hanging out under nice pretences (oh, i'm busy with school and work and friends) and want to keep it nice without burning any bridges but old wounds and insecurities of being nothing but a sex object and wh*re have come up and the Aries Moon has just made me SNAP and my replies back as so bitter and sarcastic and cutting that they never want to talk to me again, which suits me FINE (Natal Sun trine Natal Pluto..the power is scary when unleashed)..interestingly it would be transiting my 1st house.

I've had enough. I love sex but hate being called up for it and only for that purpose, despite not being easy nor trashy in any sense as I'm quite the opposite. I've explored it enough to become a nun now as my spirituality has become more important, which includes treating my body like a temple.

Natally I got Libra Moon and Aries Rising..funny as this stuff comes up.

It's my exgf,Meghann's birthday today. I haven't heard from her since she dumped me on April 2, 2008. Yeah..I still miss her,but she's in the past. I know that it was for the best. I know that there is somebody better for me,and she will be my partner in my life purpose as a neurodiversity advocate and helping others which was something that my exgirlfriend wasn't interested in. The Archangel cards really helped me understand that. There are times that I have dreams about her including intimate dreams, and I wonder if she still thinks about me. The dreams occur when transiting Moon aspects our synastry aspects too. She and I also Moon trine/parallel Moon in our synastry with my Moon in her 12th trine her Moon in 7th/8th, and that could be a strong intuitive, emotional connection which was the most evident when she and I came up with similar idea for each other on Valentines Day,making each other similar Valentine's Day cards. It goes to show that even with strong connections, there is still no guarantee that a relationship will be forever. I wasn't met to move to the East Coast to be with her. I was meant to stay in California to meet the people that I met now that are helping me with my life purpose.

It is also my best friend's birthday today. I met him around the end of January 2009. He's a shaman that an intuitive consultant that recommended me to see for healing work on me to prepare me for life purpose. He and I shared common ground as people with neurological/learning differences with special education past. I assist him at healing/psychic fairs like the one that happened March 28th. I am going to another one with him this upcoming April 10th. I am going to get him a present today. I am going to see him on April 2nd to watch Clash of the Titans with him.

Both have their solar returns on March 29th.

March 29th is also my mom's biological mother. My mom never knew her mother because she left my mom as a baby. My grandfather wouldn't give her up. If he was a typical Cancer, it was not giving up his children with family being so important to him.

I called my mom yesterday, and she's released from the nursing home. She's really gone a long away from healing in regards to her diabetes.

Dave,my future secretary of my upcoming nonprofit organization, Developmental Neurodiversity Association told me about a new business proposition last night. He told me about The Urban Hive and about the possibility of sharing an office space. It seems like it will be ideal for an office as the nonprofit. It has a conference room which would be perfect for holding my neurodiversity meetup groups. I am going to check it out today. http://www.theurbanhive.com/

From everything I have read, this wasn't an easy, "nice" Full Moon. And then Anne Ortelee saying this is a "No, No, No" kind of energy this week. This woman mentions that this is a very strong, masculine chart. That kind of energy.

Libra Full Moon

At 9 degrees Libra, the Sun and the Moon have both escaped the Aries point and remain alone in their opposing light. Lady opposes Lord, action assesses union, warrior greets enemy. Mars, the ruler of the Sun, sits in Leo – separating from his commonsensical sextile with Saturn. Venus, the ruler of the Moon, sits in Aries – connecting in a whimsical, creative, and daring sextile to Neptune and Chiron.

You’re sensitive, passionate and argument-ready should anyone cross your boundaries. You’ve weathered the Cancer Moon cardinal cross. You’ve handled the Sun square Pluto and to be honest, you’re raw, and annoyed because you know that there is much more of ‘this’ to come. It is difficult to decipher which moments require aggression and which ones deserve a more passive approach. You can easily throw caution to the wind and react to every slight mishap. Alternatively, you can hide yourself away with your wounds and close down emotional intimacy.

Life can be tough here as you face the stark reality about the people in your life, your long term goals, plus the enemy factor, both past and present. Saturn is gearing to head into Virgo, and after his short spurt in Libra, his desire to strike a balance by becoming your own fairness warrior is only going to continue to grow. This Full Moon highlights the connections in the external and the emotions of the internal – where you deeply desire things to be more in your favor. It’s time to prepare just how you are going to grab this Saturn oppose Uranus influence and how you are going to change the pockets of your life where you feel repressed.

Asteroid Apollo is retrograde and conjunct Mars in Leo. Here, you face old demons regarding romance and career. Areas where there has been jealous behavior, competitive behavior – or times where you ’should’ have been more protective of your lover, your goals, your drives. It’s all about you here. Where did you let your passion down in the past? What influenced you? What intuition did you fail to take on board? Where did ego rule and fail?

Arachne sits conjunct Uranus in Pisces, preparing with him, before Saturn’s kiss. Challenge – where would life and passion be without that internal drive, ambition and desire for challenge. How else do you prove your worth unless you defeat another? But what happens when the victory is shallow? What if the victory never brings the prize of internal peace? Arachne is talented, oh so talented, and with Uranus – she can weave your natural gifts, if you let her, in such a beautiful manner. With her help, there is no competition. Concentrate on your own goals, your own efforts – work hard and challenge yourself. Ignore combative others and entering into jealousy games which is nothing more than empty ambition. It’s sublime puppetry, not to mention another cop out to hide behind ego, or another excuse for not following through.

Lachesis is in Scorpio and retrograde, forming an opposition with Juno. There is truth here, an honest evaluation of the ‘duration’ of a present connection, idea or enterprise. You know the answer. You know if it is in your benefit or not, to continue. You can see the writing on the wall on which concepts or relationships in the present are worth maintaining and it will be up to you on which path you choose to follow.

This is a very strong ‘masculine’ chart. Nothing dainty about it at all. Asteroid Lilith is retrograde in Virgo, forming an opposition with Jupiter. Sexism, actually all of the ‘ism’s,’ are a horrible expression of human behavior – so any biased or grossly unfair treatment will be duly noted and considered. Retrograde however, past individuals who have really treated you like garbage can reappear – or you are dealing with the haunting memory of their ill treatment. With Jupiter at the helm, this involves any sort of authority figure, at work or in love, where you felt truly overpowered. This is a heavy one and do not for one moment deal with it alone if you feel totally lost and vulnerable. Reach out and communicate xo

Really, this was never going to be a ‘fabulous and happy’ Full Moon. It leads the way for the return of Saturn and Uranus, it has arrived after a lot of intensity, even though there is excitement building for the future – we know there is more. There isn’t even a strong spiritual message lying beneath it’s surface. No, this Full Moon is a humanity check and it starts in your intimate, social and work sphere. There are no hidden prizes, no secret passages, no mystical means of escape – it is all down to you, your practicality, your morals, your acceptance, your faith and your choices!

Remember, despite the solitude of our future decisions – we are all going through this together! Be firm but be kind!

I want to point out that the Full Moon was square the heliocentric Jupiter Nodes in 10'34 Cancer/Capricorn. The Sun is squaring them under 1 degree applying now. That's the same as Earth square the Jupiter Nodes. It can be a time for expansion, optimism on a collective scale. The square can point to excess, misjudgment, and prejudice though.

also the Full Moon was sextile the Geocentric North Neptune Node in 10'15 Leo. The Sun is trining it under 1 degree applying now. It can be a time for idealism, inspiration, compassion on a collective scale.

Venus is aspecting multiple geocentric planetary nodes

sextile Geocentric South Jupiter Node in 29'37 Gemini...so love, relationships, values involving collective expansion, optimism, judgment
square Geocentric South Saturn Node in 29'08 Cancer....so love, relationships, values involving discipline,structure....the square suggests a restricting, limiting influence
