Which would be more accurate to record the time of birth?(A)The time the head comes out ? Or (B)when the whole body is out and the first breathe is taken? and if (B) why? Why wouldnt it be the moment it comes in contact with oxygen or sees the world? ------------------

Hi belgz,I have heard that first child's cry means exact hour of birth. In last few years my female friends send me SMS: my baby was born at that time..... I have to draw Natal Chart and give short explanation, after mother and child come to home. Bobbie ------------------ I am neither especially clever nor especially gifted. I asked this question somewhere before, to midwives and doctors, and they unanimously said it's when the baby takes its first breath.I always thought it would make more sense to count when the umbilical cord is cut, because from then on the baby has to survive on his/her own without any help from the mother. ... But, midwives and gynaecologists count the first breath. ------------------ Official Conor's Feeding Machine! IP: Logged |

I wonder what time they record it? I mean the head comes out and then they tell you "Wait" so you push out within the next few minutes. Im starting to think i was actually born at 10:40am rather than 10:41.

Lol i'm pretty sure it'd be when they pull the baby out of the body fully and the baby takes it's first breath and starts crying. That's the beginning in life, so I imagine it would be the same for astrology?? Lol i doubt a minute or 2 is gonna impact your natal chart or Rising in any major way..I think about weird stuff like that too IP: Logged |

Diablo:It does, especially when you have Pisces rising. It does 30° in 30 minutes in Pisces, so 2 minutes more will have a difference of 2° in your rising. Generally, anything between Libra and Sagittarius, shows very little difference with 2 minutes more. But in Astrology every minute certainly counts! You will appreciate that when you have a planet conjunct your rising or conjunct another house cusp and you just don't know whether it's in one house or the other. Now, with house cusps you could argue its position because everyone uses different house systems, but the rising and MC are generally the same. Even with MC's when they end up on the cusp of a sign, every minute counts. I have a 29°55' Virgo MC, a minute later it would be in Libra, but if you look at my personality, Virgo MC suits me perfectly, while Libra MC just looks awkward in my chart. ------------------ Official Conor's Feeding Machine! Well, yeah when there's a fine line like that on the cusp balancing between 2 signs..it would for sure. But in a general sense, doubt it. It wouldn't make a difference if i was born at 12:50AM or 1AM (i was born 12:55am) cos i'd still be Aries Rising and my moon would still be in Libra.. But i was upside down and they spent hours massaging my mum's stomach before they decided to cut me out..if i came out an hour beforehand, then i'd be on the 26th, not the 27th by mere minutes..then my natal chart would look completely different. But that wasn't the case and I'm glad i don't have Pisces Rising lol

ooh, I just noticed something. If you're from Australia, ignore what I said about Pisces rising. In the southern Hemisphere it is most likely Virgo rising and Libra rising to rush past in a time of 30 minutes or a bit more. Pisces rising is 3 hours in the southern hemisphere ------------------ Official Conor's Feeding Machine! IP: Logged |

lol, yeah i am. I'm actually Aries Rising, only just missed Pisces Rising (thank God)My brother is Libra Rising..how funny, our ASC are signs opposite to each other yet his bday is 6 days after mine (same sun sign). And while i was born in the midnight hour, he was born in the midday hour. Complete opposites but the same hahaha IP: Logged |

belgz - I know a lot of people compare solar arcs to their natal charts, but to be honest I think it's comparing apples to pears. Perhaps I'm missing something in those solar arc charts, I don't know, but to use a solar arc to see if your natal chart is correct, does seem pretty much like comparing apples to pears. Both fruit but they certainly aren't the same.Diablo - in our family all the left handed people have a mutable rising, all different ones actually, and the only right handed person (my mother) has a cardinal rising. It's probably a coincidence, but it's funny, though! ------------------ Official Conor's Feeding Machine! IP: Logged |

Wow, that's so weird cos my brother is the only one in the family (and this includes going back to great great grandparents, aunties and uncles) who is left handed hahaIP: Logged |

Well, going back to my grandparents, the mutable thing doesn't go up anymore. My grandmother (my dad's mother) is also lefthanded, but in those days and this being a catholic country, she was forced to write with her right hand. She has Leo rising (Aries moon and Libra sun ) My uncle is also lefthanded and I think his youngest daughter is lefthanded too. Don't know their risings, but they're both Virgo sun. On my mother's side, no one is lefthanded. And it's a big effin family - 1 mother, 2 fathers, 9 children, 24 grandchildren and 8, almost 9 great-grandchildren. The only lefthanded people out of that list are my brother and myself It's a bit too early to see if our baby boy is going to be left or right handed. Interestingly, he has Leo rising like his great granny, but right now he still uses both hands to grab things. Then again, I'm actually ambidextrous (I just like to write with my left hand, always have, I liked to be awkward, but I do absolutely everything else with my right hand, where most left handed people actually have trouble using things designed for right handend people I can use anything without any problems), so our little rogue could just as well be ambidextrous. Anyway, sorry to go off topic there. ------------------ Official Conor's Feeding Machine! IP: Logged |

The accurate time of birth is the one that most fits yourself and your life, if you're unsure. I, for example, have mercury exactly conjunct the midheaven, that's why people consider my comments smart no matter what I say, and why I'm 5'9" and 90 lbs. Eating disorder you know. I'm also in university. NO question about my chart. Thank you. IP: Logged |

I've wondered the same thing but then again how do you know the doctors/nurses are recording the right time? I've asked if it makes a difference if you were c-section and didn't come out when you chose...but I guess it was all in the plan. C-section or not. IP: Logged |

No c-section, I've yet to give birth. Thank you. Again just go by your life to figure out your chart. IP: Logged |

Our baby came out when he had to. It was emergency c-section and the strange thing is that even after being 9 days overdue and 24 hours of labour, he came out exactly when he had to.He's a strong little boy, stronger than most babies (according to the midwives in the hospital) and he has mars almost exactly conjunct his rising. belgz - my planets are mostly mutable, then fixed and then cardinal. ------------------ Official Conor's Feeding Machine! I would think when the birthing process was done... so when the baby was fully out. I know this isn't technically correct, but I don't think SA's are that time specific. I think they are like progressed aspects, in that the orbs are about 3* actually, and the minute is BS. Who came up with that and where is their evidence? I've seen SA's operate 2* before and after exactness. If I were born earlier I would be an aries ac, and soemtimes I think that fits me -- mars being my ruler, etc. But I have a lot of fire in my chart and mars angular, so...
Taurus AC really fits me. I am so glad I have a firm TOB -- birth certificate and confirmed by my dad. You cannot rectify an AC imo, I don't care what anyone says. IP: Logged |
