New Moon in the Houses
The New Moon transiting the houses of the natal chart
Look to the position of the New Moon by house in any given month for areas of your life that will be activated for the duration of the month. Heightened sensitivity in these areas is likely, and a potential for renewal is found here.

New Moon in the First House

This New Moon placement is a powerful one—it's a time to reinvent yourself in some personal way, such as with a new look or manner of expressing and presenting yourself. This is a personally busy time of year, when you feel energetic and enthusiastic. Think about how you present yourself to others, focus on changing personal habits in such a way as to improve your confidence in yourself, and concentrate on putting your best foot forward, as this is a time when you will get noticed and make a personal impression on others. However, factor in the importance of authenticity in your presentation of yourself. You do not have to, of course, reveal all of yourself to others, but the sign of Aries associated with the first house reminds us of the importance of acting on our impulses and believing in ourselves. This is a time when you can be brave and enjoy new experiences.

New Moon in the Second House

Heightened sensitivity to the world of the five senses, to your physical environment, and to the security you gain from the solid ground you have built for yourself is in order for this period of time. Attunement to, and appreciation of, the physical world of the senses is the focus, and this is a time to start fresh in terms of how you arrange your life in order to feel a sense of value and worthiness. Financial issues come into focus. Setting realistic financial goals, as well as formulating such things as budgets and other sensible financial planning projects, will be favored during this time. Discovering ways to increase your income is featured. It is also a wonderful time for taking moments to pleasure yourself through earthy, tactile, and comforting endeavors.

New Moon in the Third House

The third house rules our communication skills, learning, methods, daily interactions and contact, and general "busy-ness". This is a favorable time for learning something new, feeling at ease in social situations, taking care of the details of daily life, and developing a mental rapport with others. It is a time when you will be more aware of your environment, and when you experience increased alertness. It's a good time to take tests, fill out forms, start a new course, write letters, make phone calls, and take care of daily tasks with energy.

New Moon in the Fourth House

Home and family may be a focus during this phase. On a personal, developmental level, this is a time to not only listen to what is in your gut, but to pay homage to those feelings! What makes you feel safe and secure? This is the time to explore and develop a sense of inner security. Although the fourth house is associated with the home, it is an angular, cardinal house that stirs up activity. This is a time of re-organization and heightened awareness of your roots, issues of intimacy and vulnerability, and it's an excellent time to come in touch with your feelings and needs. Focusing on your support system and the manner in which you support others is also probable. This is a good time to make long-range plans for the future, to do any type of re-organizing or even re-modeling of the home or home environment, and for family-related activities.

New Moon in the Fifth House

Creative self-expression comes under the realm of the fifth house, and a New Moon occurring here sparks the creative juices. Romantic inclinations are also highlighted, as are any kind of celebratory, playful, and just-for-fun endeavors. You will be especially aware of your need for approval and feedback from others, deriving pleasure from the ways your own creativity impact the world around you. This can be a passionate time for you, and a time when you might feel more bold than usual. If you are feeling good about yourself, and especially if you have taken advantage of the time for re-building of confidence that the New Moon in the fourth house brought, you will fairly radiate during this expressive period.

New Moon in the Sixth House

The New Moon in the sixth house heralds a time when new diet regimes, healthy routines, and satisfying work schedules can be successfully initiated. It is a time of taking care of business, handling details, and increasing your efficiency by re-organizing or simply by working enthusiastically at tasks that help you get caught up in your work. It is also a good time for analysis of any sort, as critical thinking is now at its peak. This period is marked by a desire to sort things out, but also to be useful.

New Moon in the Seventh House

Negotiations and diplomacy are highlighted during this period, as it is a favorable time to begin new relationships or to re-define existing ones. Issues of sharing and partnership come to the fore. Increased awareness of the need for someone significant to lean on or to rely on is often associated with this position. Working on, or resolving to work on, relationships that are mutually supportive is a good idea at this time. If you find yourself sensitive to the feeling of lacking support from partners, this may be a good time to ask yourself how companionable you are, and work on developing yourself in this area of life. You might just find that this is a period when you are at your most gracious. It is also a good time to make contacts and to make something public.

New Moon in the Eighth House

This is a time of empowerment. It is a good time to focus on issues of intimacy as well as developing self-mastery skills. You may experience increased awareness of others—what makes them tick—as well as your own internal motivations during this period. It is a time when intimacy and deep levels of sharing are heightened. It is also a favorable time to start a financial plan, savings plan, take out a loan or consolidate, and do work in accounting.

New Moon in the Ninth House

The ninth house rules our spirit to grow, explore, and expand beyond the "regular" experiences in our lives. The New Moon here may bring some restlessness and dissatisfaction with regular routines. Make an effort to initiate new projects or activities that expand your mind, feed your spirit for adventure, and stretch your imagination. You may feel renewed by a new perspective on your life, something philosophical or spiritual that you read or learn, or an adventure that takes you away from the mundane routines in your life.

New Moon in the Tenth House

Heightened sensitivity to your standing in society and your goals for constructive progress are highlighted this month. It's a good time to develop new business plans and goals, assuming the New Moon is not very afflicted, and a sense of renewal and reinvigoration with regards to your career goals is a potential. It is a time to focus on the elements of your personality that you are projecting to society and as a professional. Goals for self-mastery and self-discipline should be made at this time. This is a phase when you will be busy with career and/or public responsibilities.

New Moon in the Eleventh House

The eleventh house is a sector associated with networking, making contact, group activities, and income earned from business. With the New Moon here, focus is on making contacts and reaching out to others in both a social and professional sense. It's a time to turn inner restlessness into fruitful contact with others. Heightened awareness of your position in life within the context of the group, rather than through self-centered focus, is probable with this position of the New Moon, as well as a need for social security. Goals that involve networking, making connections with others, joining or strengthening ties in a group project/activity, and nurturing good will are the focus this month.

New Moon in the Twelfth House

This is a period of review, letting go, and recharging one's spiritual and, in effect, physical "batteries". Focus, now, is on fulfillment through service, empathy, and awareness of other's needs; but it can also be a time of withdrawal and some sort of retreat in a social sense, depending on your personal and natural predisposition. Some kind of soul-searching is in order, and the urge to find some level of emotional peace of mind will be apparent. This is a more sensitive position of the New Moon, and it is best to find some sort of peace for the soul in preparation for the New Moon in the first house—a period that is more active and busy than this one.

The New Moon favors these types of activities:

In Aries, quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
In Taurus, substantial and material actions that yield solid results. Financial activities, and those involving personal possessions, applying for a loan, beginning a potentially long-term relationship, music, home decor.
In Gemini, mental and communicative actions, and more than one activity at once. Reading, learning, letters and emails, errands.
In Cancer, domestic activities, those that involve awareness of personal needs. Home decor, family get-togethers.
In Leo, creative activities, activities involving children, generous undertakings, undertakings in which personal recognition is desired, and risk-taking.
In Virgo, mental pursuits, work activities, services, and routines. Activities that would benefit from tending to details.
In Libra, relationship issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
In Scorpio, taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
In Sagittarius, adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, advertising, sports, physical activity.
In Capricorn, long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
In Aquarius, unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
In Pisces, imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.

New Moon in the 1st House
A new moon in the 1st house bestows a renewal within the self. Reinvent yourself. Try new things. Be bolder, more confident. Start new projects. Begin walking, talking, thinking, acting, and being the version of yourself you envision. Go on, try it out; see how it feels.

New Moon in the 2nd House
In the physical realm, the 2nd house represents our material security, possessions, and income. On a slightly higher level, it rules our value system and self-worth. In the spiritual arena, it represents stability, inner peace, and being grounded through our own self-sufficiency.

New Moon in the 3rd House
For those with siblings (biological or otherwise), the new moon might highlight a renewal in relationships and interactions with them. The 3rd house also represents all manners of information gathering, communication, commerce, writing, speaking, thinking, planning, and creation of ideas.

New Moon in the 4th House
In the physical realm, a new moon in the 4th house might involve the family (present or recurring issues) or the home (buying/selling a house, moving, re-financing, re-decorating, remodeling, etc.). On an emotional/personal level, the 4th house represents coming to terms with the past or unresolved family issues.

New Moon in the 5th House
Self-expression, creative projects, love and romance, fun, playfulness, and children are all ruled by the 5th house. Allow this new moon to awaken creativity, spark love, boost confidence, and/or bring simple pleasures back into your life.

New Moon in the 6th House
Health, busy work, service, comfort in routines, and finding order in the details are all ruled by the 6th house. A new moon here encourages lifestyle changes, healthier habits, becoming comfortable with taking on the role of someone who "services" others, or perhaps learning to establish boundaries with those who might take advantage of kind gestures.

New Moon in the 7th House
Partnerships (business or otherwise), marriages, committed relationships, and known enemies are all representatives of the 7th house. Changes to relationships -- equality, cooperations, compromises, agreements, how we relate to others, how they relate to us -- are issues that might surface during the new moon cycle.

New Moon in the 8th House
The 8th house is multi-faceted and multi-layered. In the physical realm, the 8th house represents sex and shared resources/finances. In the psychological plane, it represents power struggles within our own psychological makeup and our ability to embrace the "darker" version of our self without it overpowering us. On a spiritual level, it represents "death and rebirth", transformation, regeneration -- the need for something to "die" in order for a "rebirth" to occur -- as in a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. A new moon in the 8th house is generally intense and difficult but also powerful.

New Moon in the 9th House
A new moon in the 9th house focuses on personal growth (spiritual or otherwise) through higher education, intellectual curiosities, travel, and cultural experiences. The 9th house also represents publishing.

New Moon in the 10th House
A focus on professional pursuits, long-term goals, establishing public reputations might take center stage with a new moon in this house.

New Moon in the 11th House
New moon in the 11th house might influence your friendships and associations; the way you view the world and its varied societies; or humanity as a whole and your place in it, as well as your joint responsibility to it.

New Moon in the 12th House
The 12th house, like the 8th house, is also multi-faceted and multi-layered. It is the house of the subconscious, solitude, spiritual consciousness, secrets (ours and those kept from us), hidden enemies, and represents institutions like hospitals and prisons. A new moon in the 12th house might require "solitude" in order to "recharge" and sort through issues subconsciously and psychologically. The most effective way to process a transit through this house is surrender ... give in to the much needed spiritual healing offered and clarity will follow.

New Moon in the Houses

New Moon in the First House

This New Moon marks a time of personal beginnings, when you find yourself shot into the
limelight and all eyes turn toward you to see what you're going to do next. This may be
somewhat startling, as it's rather different than what last month brought, and you will need to
step up and display your self-confidence in a way that wasn't called on before. In a volatile
situation you will need to have your wits about you as you will have a particularly high profile.
The trick is to handle it with grace and not let it go to your head, as this too shall pass and you'll
want to look back on a performance that maximized the opportunities dropped into your lap.

New Moon in the Second House

For a day or so you may be under pressure to underwrite new projects or finance situations that
require sinking money into them. It may seem quite urgent, but it's a time when everything
seems a bit more intense, so you may do well to stand back and take a second look before
jumping in with both feet. Wise investments made at this time can bring good returns in the next
couple of weeks, but ill-conceived spending could drain you in the same time period. Know
you're right, then go ahead one way or the other, as the one option you probably won't have is
sitting on the fence or putting it all off until later. Strike when the iron is hot or pass the
opportunity on to another.

New Moon in the Third House

A flurry of activity for several days can have the phone ringing off the hook as new ideas and
propositions that require either your opinion or your decision come your way. Your challenge will
be sorting the wheat from the chaff on the fly, and sorting out the confusion that always abounds
at New Moon, especially this one. The day is won by multiple, smaller choices made wisely,
rather than hanging on a single issue, so don't obsess but decide quickly and move right along
to the next. This is a great time for currying new acquaintances as the air of intensity makes for
strong personal connections and breaks through the barriers of unfamiliarity.

New Moon in the Fourth House

This may mark a day or so of raised tensions at home as biological tides run high and elbow
room seems harder to come by. However, used creatively, this can lead to new ways of
organizing and arranging your personal space so it doesn't overlap that of others. It's a good
time to start new home-related projects as a way to utilize the extra energy in a constructive
manner. Letting out your deeper expressions of feeling to another can make things especially
intimate right now, but make sure you express yourself clearly and are not misunderstood. The
perfect time to feel "at home" with someone, either literally or figuratively. The only thing you'll
not want to be is idle -- the vibes are too intense to just sit on your hands.

New Moon in the Fifth House

Find a party to go to, give one, or just party down where you stand -- the astral weather is
perfect for it. In fact, anything you do for enjoyment will seem twice as good right now. Play with
your children, or just break out the inner child, as you can more easily part with selfconsciousness
and spontaneity breaks out, well, spontaneously! If you call on the muse for a
creative project, she will definitely show up (muses love parties, and children), and you'll find
that your juices flow faster and easier than usual. There can be a fine line between joyous
adventure and risky behavior, however, so try to stay on the safe side of the line. A good time to
engage, but not be, a designated driver both literally and figuratively, so that you can be safely
irresponsible for a while.

New Moon in the Sixth House

A good time to take your blood pressure -- if it's not elevated now, you're in really good shape. It
can be easy to get worried about health matters now, but moderation is the right response. The
temptation to throw yourself into a new regimen may run high, but choose your new path well
before you embark or it will be a flash in the pan. The same goes for cleaning house in the
workplace and starting off on a fresh footing. Make sure you're not demanding too much of
yourself in the long run -- you will not always have this much drive, and you don't want to peter
out because you can't keep up with yourself. A good program is determined by whether you can
keep it going on an off day.

New Moon in the Seventh House

This is a particularly ripe couple of days for finding a new partner or turning over a new leaf with
an old partner. You may find a flood of emotional intensity coming your way and how you utilize
it could largely shape the direction of the relationship. That means be particularly understanding
and realize that though feelings may be overstated at this time and emotions run hot, the
message underneath is sincere and needs to be taken seriously. Breakthroughs can occur now
that you both might have kept a lid on otherwise, and you'll be glad you achieved the new
closeness, even though you may not be able to keep it going at that level of intensity all month.

New Moon in the Eighth House

You may find turning over a new leaf this month entails tossing out the old and ringing in the
new, but you should take a second look before doing that. What you may find much more
satisfactory is to simply rework and refurbish what is already there. Sometimes a new paint job
makes everything new again, so you don't have to start over from scratch. They don't make
things like they used to, so preserve what you can. It's also a good time to initiate that new
credit card, but avoid impulse buying, as it's easy to go overboard right about now. Ditto for
mortgage or other loans -- a good starting time, but just take what you need and no more.

New Moon in the Ninth House

It's a great time for planning, cooking up new schemes, or rearranging the way you look at
things. Patterns you establish now do not need detailed follow-up until later, so you can stick to
generalities until you've got it all properly roughed-out. Put on the finishing touches later. New
publishing efforts, or any project that generally disseminates what you have to say, are well
begun now, and you may find the pressure is on to produce. Avoid hasty commitments,
however, as you don't want to be held to something ill-considered or not fully thought out. Well
begun is half done, so be thoughtful, deliberate, and measured in your efforts, even though
tempted or even encouraged not to be.

New Moon in the Tenth House

New developments in career matters may have you quite wound up for a couple of days and the
pressure to produce can be intense. Too many things happening at once make it hard to keep
track of things, but you can't afford to leave anything out. It is as important to listen at this time
as to act. What people are saying to you and about you very much reflects your personal and
professional status and you will want to make sure that you are being represented honestly. If
you give your resumé a second look, you'll find there are new things to say about yourself that
need to be included. Taking a fresh stance can put you into new places, move you up a notch.

New Moon in the Eleventh House

Feelings run high among close friends and an intensity is available right now that can renew the
love and passion that first fueled your relationships. It can be worth risking upset to get at what
you are really feeling and share it with those that matter the most. Because there's a crazy
atmosphere surrounding it all, you can say things you might have hesitated to bring up and wear
your heart on your sleeve without worrying about the outcome. The same ability to burst out of
your shell will also aid in getting yourself into new company you might have thought didn't care
about you before. An approach of disarming honesty can make you welcome in unexpected
places and bring you valuable allies.

New Moon in the Twelfth House

Eruptions of the unconscious could bring both troubles and personal revelations to the surface
right now, so you may want to be careful not to betray secrets or let the cat out of the bag
prematurely. Don't say the first thing that comes to mind, or you may give away more than you
intend to. New deals are being struck behind the scenes with a strong sense of urgency, but
they are not necessarily justified, so watch that you don't climb aboard the wrong bandwagon
right now. Wait until things come out into the open to make decisions, take sides, even though
there appears to be advantage in secrecy. Open covenants, openly arrived at, are the better
part of honor.

Thanks for posting Belgz.

New Moon hits me in the 1st house & seeing as I'm a private person I think this may not be entirely comfortable, lol. This new moon trines my natal Moon in 10th too. That has to be good right?

Like I said before, this is in my 8th. And I've been having a crazy amount of precognitive moments--started late last night out until now. Dead on each time. Really freaky.

Had some wild dreams last night too.

Oh, wanted to add: sadly I did not have any precognition of the winning Powerball numbers tonight. I bought a few tickets this morning anyhow. Who knows?

It's my dad's birthday today. I wonder what it'll bring for him.

It looks like the Moon is still behind the Sun, so when it catches up it'll be in my 12th house Placidus. In whole houses, it would fall in the 11th. I think I'd prefer the 11th. I feel like I need to get some things going with people.

Mines in 7th. I doubt anything special will come out of it. It never does.
