I've read from so many places that Jupiter in the 12th house grants protection when you need it most.

On Bobmarksastrologer:

quote:
can hide their "joviality", their cheerfulness. However, while it can limit "luck" as far as getting things for you, it can also protect you from physical harm, especially from enemies. One client was a tank commander in an Asian war. His tank received a direct hit from an enemy tank at a range of about 300 yards. He told me that usually when that happens, they have to scrape the remains off of the walls of the tank. He and all his crew got out with only a few scratches. The tank was a total loss. Another client was, as a child, shot accidentally with a 22 rifle. The bullet ricocheted off of her rib and just missed her heart.

On Tribe.net I read a very long post of a person with this placement who describes a series of life shady situations (that she believed was brought on by a harsh pluto transit in the same house) in which she landed on her feet.

I don't have Jupiter in the 12th, but Jupiter does rule my 12th house and I can definitely relate. I have Saturn in the 12th which has brought me terrible luck in all other areas, but the influence of Jupiter seems to have always helped me land on my two feet. I can even think of a shady situation or two where I wonder how did I come out unharmed.

i have jupiter in the 12th as part of a conjunct with neptune and my ascendant.

people suddenly show up in my life and just as suddenly leave. its like they are guides for my life journey. they usually help propel me towards my calling in a very significant way. i'm learning not to get attached to these people because i always am sad and hurt when they leave or there is some kind of separation.

i always meet people who want to help me. they take a strong interest in me and what i am doing in my life and they want to help. after they serve their purpose, they leave.

jupiter rules my 12th house as well, and it is in the 12th house, albeit in capricorn.

Wow, what a wonderful manifestation of the cosmic 'guardianship' of this placement. I'm sorry they don't stick around long.

My Jupiter is actually in the 5th, but I can see clearly how its linked with the 12th now.

Don't forget Jupiter is dignified in the 12th house; the traditional ruler of Pisces.

Yes, both myself and the person I really like have this guardian angel thing going on in our lives.
I experience people leaving suddenly although I am always the one to walk away.

Interesting concept.
I feel that I have a Guardian Angel ,too
My sun is 28 degrees Gemini which is Beleguese.
It is supposed to be a star that blesses.
I am very blessed even though I have been forced( and am still being forced ) to transform.

electricmind, me too...so many guardian angels! and one in particular i wish would stay!!

but the other thing is not so much angels who appear or push you in the right direction so to speak, as just plain amazing escapes from peril LOL i used to think i should have been called pauline rather than my sister, i have had so many "brushes" with peril that fizzled out or failed to happen altogether.

not to mention the london taxicab that drove over my foot one night and left not even a bruise...but scared me enough that i jumped BACK and didn't get run over completely...

Yeah, that's the main thing I was getting at in my original post. Brushes with death or fatal situations and coming out unharmed, or how just by chance you can be saved. Or rather how one can land on their feet after great misfortune. All this I can say has happened to me, even though I just have Jupiter ruling the 12th house.

You're the first one that talked about fixed stars.

My Moon in 3'11 Pisces is in alignment with Fomalhaut in 3'28 Pisces.
Fomalhaut is one of the 4 Royal Stars, Guardians of the Sky,Archangel Stars.............in Fomalhaut's case: Watcher of the South, the Archangel Gabriel.

my Moon is also aligned with the Heliocentric Angel Nodes in 2'28 Virgo/Pisces and The Heliocentric Fay Nodes in 3'25 Pisces/Virgo
(Heliocentric nodes of all objects move up to 1 degree per century)

"but the other thing is not so much angels who appear or push you in the right direction so to speak, as just plain amazing escapes from peril LOL i used to think i should have been called pauline rather than my sister, i have had so many "brushes" with peril that fizzled out or failed to happen altogether. "

That fits with the case of my mother and myself. My mom told me that an angel helped saved us from getting killed when she was 20 years old, and I was just about to turn 3 years old. She was cut and shot by the man who was a schizophrenic who was previously incarcerated, and she took me out of the house. She said felt an angel help get her off the ground and help guide her out of the house. She said that before she got shot, she pushed me down and put her hand on me and prayed.

My mom is a Roman Catholic, and so I chalked it up to her belief system.

Since I got into angel stuff the end of last year, I realized that she was telling the truth. I can't help think that angels helped her survive even from her diabetes infection last December and helped her recuperate and rehab quickly. She lost her remaining leg, but it was better than losing her life. She was also saved from cervical cancer when she was 23 years old. She lost her uterus, but it was better than losing her life. People told her that somebody is watching over her for her to survive certain things. I believe that they are right.

She doesn't have Jupiter in 12th house. She has a minor grand trine of Sun in Gemini in 12th trine the sextile of Pluto-Haumea in 3rd and Neptune in Libra in 5th

I have no Jupiter in 12th. I have Ceres-Makemake-Vertex conjunction in 12th and Haumea in 12th conjunct Ascendant. I also think my 12th house ruler (Sun) trine Moon may also be a factor.

When I was 10, I got hit by a car because I didn't use the cross walk when riding my bike. I cut in front of a car,and I got hit. I wasn't hurt, but just a few grazes and a little soreness. I was mostly scared about getting a spanking because I did something wrong.

When I was 2 years old, I nearly drowned in a swimmingpool; for a few minutes I had apparently gone underwater and my parents could not find me. And then I suddenly had been lying over my Dad`s arm. He once said it was almost like someone had put me there. Coincidence or a miracle.

On my way back from Ireland the ferry I was on got into a huge storm. Later someone from the crew told me, that the ferry hadnīt even been supposed to start its way at this storm, and that if the wind had turned, we probably would have sunk. I had been on deck all the time; it was the first time I was being seasick, It was always going up and down, like a carousel, and the water was splashing in waves onto deck. I was wet within minutes, but I couldn`t go under deck - they were all lying around there in the corners because of their own seasickness and it smelled, well, how it smells if a whole ship has been seasick. lol
For some reason I was sitting on deck and listening to "Paint it black". No idea why I got fascinated with that song, but it was a truely black night. Black sky, black water.
Anyway obviously I did not drown.
I also got run over by a car almost, but was lucky. Just a few bruises.

And during my adolescence I escaped some potentially sexually dangerous situations. I was very lucky in that period. But not lucky enough to avoid the emotional consequences (mainly a certain fear).

I have also been beaten up by a group of several youths when I was 16 years old; I was lucky because I only kept some bruises and emotional scars. I jsut later learned that this group had beaten some other girls so badly, they ended up in hospital. As I said, I was pretty lucky.

I do not have Jupiter in or ruling my 12th house though.

Do you think an angular Jupiter or a trine to Jupiter or something similar could be involved in regards to being lucky, fortunate when it comes to surviving.

My mother had Jupiter in Cancer in 1st conjunct the Ascendant in Cancer.

I have Jupiter in Sagittarius in 3rd conjunct the Imum Coeli. In whole sign house system, it's in 4th.

I also believe that the big transneptunian objects in hard aspects could be involved in traumatic life and death experiences. Of course, that would include Pluto.

I'd think that Pluto and objects that orbit like Pluto (specifically the plutinos) with their orbital symbolisms could be about matters involving death.

Pluto,Orcus,Ixion, and even Huya

I also believe Sedna could be involved too. Sedna wasn't just a Sea Goddess in Inuit Mythology. She was also ruler of the Underworld called Adlivun

My mom has Orcus only 10 minutes conjunct the Ascendant.
She also has strong in Pluto through the Declinations. She has Venus has a t-square of Venus square Neptune-Sedna opposition.

I have Sun conjunct Ixion with 5 minutes of arc,Sun contraparallel Orcus with 1 minute of arc,and Sun oppose Sedna with 44 minutes of arc in Right Ascension.

Nessus is a centaur that links the orbit of Saturn and Pluto, and so it could be involved in deadly experiences.

another thing

before Pluto was discovered, Saturn was the traditional planet of Death.

Even now there are astrologers that don't use trans-Saturnian objects and view Saturn as planet of death.
I have a lot of hard Saturn aspects.

any ways...I think that a combination of things could be involved in people that are saved, delivered from harm, death. I think chart needs to be look at as a whole.

I really don't know.

It's hard to say.

There are disagreements about how to use them.

Many Astrologers use the ecliptic longitude projections

Bernadette Brady and her followers use the paran method (when a star and a planet are simultaneously on an angle at any certain time during the day). That is actually the oldest way to look at stars too.

Ptolemy made a catalog of the stars in his Astronomy book, but astrologers used them for their astrological work. It wasn't designed for them.

Also certain astrologers changed the method of how the stars were measured. Ptolemy measured them by the Poles of the Ecliptic, but the later astrologer changed the method to measuring by the Poles of the Equator which is still being used.

Therefore, today's stars measurements aren't even based on what Ptolemy used.

Many astrologers ignore the mythological themes of the stars, constellations. They go by the planetary meanings that Ptolemy assigned to them and other things.

Bernadette Brady uses the mythological themes to delineate the stars in the paran method. Heliacal Rising and Heliacal Setting Star positions are also important as well as actual star conjunctions to the angles.

I like my Jupiter hanging at the very top of my chart. It's not dignified or anything... it's in Aqua, and rx, conjunct the MC lol.
It's the apex of a t-square, and part of a Yod.
But for the life of me, I can't tell you how miserable I would be without it. I feel it really gives me ridiculous optimism in the face of sadness and disaster. I feel like I am able to breathe better because of it...and yes, it can make me overly optimistic at times, but I think this balances out my Virgo anxiety and 12th house moon brooding, and my 3rd house Saturn in Cancer which tends to go all weepy and feel like the world hates me when I am at my lowest. Jupiter keeps me going, and I think with it being rx it's more interpersonal or something because I feel imbued with the optimism within myself.
Maybe i am seeing it wrong or whatever, I don't know.

I don't always land on my feet at all lol. But I think I'm good at laughing at myself when I do fall on my ass (which I mean both literally and symbolically, since both happen often LOL). I think that counts for something.

IMO everyone has a guardian angel. Some may feel their presence more than others (those with the aspects/placements that have been mentioned in this thread), but we all have one.

I have jupiter in my 12th house conjunct my ascendant in taurus. when i had my car accident last year when i was seriously hurt, i had jupiter in my 12th house solar return but pluto conjunct mars in 8th house solar return. should've seen that one coming.....

Oh, I totally agree! I wasn't actually being literal when I used 'Guardian Angel' in the title of my original post. And to be honest...I believe Jupiter, or Angels-if you believe in that, protects everyone in some way (like Glaucus and MVM mentioned earlier). What I REALLY meant when I say 'Guardian Angel Aspect' is the more 'behind the scene' or 'miraculous' way that Jupiter in the 12th/Jupiter ruling the 12th offers protection as opposed a more blatantly obvious placement like.... Jupiter in the 1st...LOL.

Everyone else: I'll reply later...I'm just drained from a long day. :
