Im just wondering if it's common out there among you loved up people to have your partners sun sign in your ascendant or vice versa? I don't mean a conjunction, I just mean both in the same sign. If you have what sign are these points in and how did you two get together? What was the attraction and who made the first move?

Well I have Cancer rising and I can honestly say I have NEVER been attracted to a Cancer sun man. I'll even go so far as to say the ones I have known I've found to be irritating. Not really what you asked but I thought it might be relevant!

Well I know a Sag sun who likes me.....and well um....he's rather attractive to me as well. But we didn't date, but it could just be that I like Sags lol

I've dated some Leo men, they always made the 1st move. It was fun, and high energy, but I didn't want long term with them. I couldn't really take them seriously.

my ASC is in Sag - I knew some Sag-Sun guys who seemed to be attracted to me, but I never was attracted to them. I guess they were too similiar to me. There was such a family-feeling going on for me (my Sun, Mercury and Mars are in Sag, too).
The only exception so far seems to be Venus in Sag - THAT one seems pretty attractive to me.

I think more things matter because his Sun in Libra is on my ASC but both our Ascendants are ruled by Venus plus my Venus and his Venus are heavily aspected by a good amount of other meaningful planets...

Nope, not me. Never been attracted to a Capricorn in anyway....I actually used to have an aversion to them. I've loads of Cap females are friends, however.

AND, I have been attracted to people who've had their moon or mars on or in the same sign as my ascendant.

Sun conjunct ASC is a very strong indication of attraction. Perhaps some of you haven't found someone who has it in close enough orb. Under 3 works best.

I knew somebody who's sun was 2 degrees away from my ASC and I hated him.

I have my Sun in Cancer on the DSC so its probably the case of egos clashing...that's not attractive to me.

I married a guy whose sun is my asc.

It was horrible, we should of been friends.
I have lots of Aries guy friends, and it's much better that way. For me.

(Oh, your question, he made the first move.)

Wow! I wasn't expecting this lol, I was expecting everyone to say that yes this is a common factor but here I am being proven wrong Im really beginning to think that with synastry between family members and friends, we should focus on the asc/sun and personal planet sextiles and trines...but when it comes to sexual/romantic synastry..squares, oppositions and conjunctions of a more fiery nature should come first. Between myself and freinds and family I have come across friendly synastry such as, sun trine moon, sun trine venus, mercury sextile moon etc and then with boyfriends of mine there was always venus opposing mars, sun square mars, sun conjunct uranus.....just a thought....

No, not always. My Mercury conj Dsc was opposed their Sun. I'm very Mercury-sensitive, so it wasn't a good aspect for me. Like I said, I couldn't take them seriously. Friends is fine with this, and with women too, just nothing *meaningful*

Same goes for Venus on my Asc, opposed my Mercury, I don't like that one either.
It's nice until I start really trying to communicate with them, and I quickly find that they see me as very off the wall and I feel horribly misunderstood (Mercury in Aquarius conj Dsc).

Virgo rising here

I really like Moon conjunct my AC. It's wonderful.

Sun conjunct AC - acceptable

Mercury, venus, Jupiter, uranus, Pluto conjunct AC - nothing special

It depends on the overall chart, I think (and I too had someone`s Sun closely conjunct my ASC).

Sun-ASC can be an attraction pattern, or rather a pattern that indicates familiarity and a certain "common ground" - the Yin-Yang combinations (like for example Venus-ASc or Moon-ASC would be more about attraction I guess);

But what if your other planets are all making challenging aspects to yuor ASC? It will change the attraction-potential of Sun-ASC clearly.

Let`s say two women have ASC exactly conjunct, and one guy comes along putting his Sun onto it.

But the first woman has trines, sextiles and conjunctions of Moon, Venus and Mars to her own ASC (and his Sun), while the other woman has just squares and oppositions of Sun, Mars, Saturn and Uranus to her ASC.

See how different they probably will experience the same synastric Sun-ASC conjunction?

Welll.... I've never dated a guy that had that with me. But my current boyfriend's Sun and Mercury (and Chrion) are in my first house (I'm Gem Rising he is a Cancer Sun). And we have the same ASC sign too.

Exactly. I have 2 planets and 3 significant asteriods in the sign opposite my Ascendant, and I also have an Aries Mars. If the Cap Man is not creating an opposition, then its definitely a T-Square and I don't seem to care for hard aspects involving my sun, mercury, or chiron in particular (I'm heavily mercurial)....they're way too much work.

My husband's Virgo sun conjuncts my Asc.
High School sweethearts since Nov. 1983.
He had caught my eye a year earlier and ended up being in three of my classes. First move was I'd say by him. I was actually engaged in high school to a Pisces, 4 yrs older than me, when I began dating my husband. I quickly ended the engagement with the Pisces. (I'm a Pisces, so polarity is at work here. Relationships are far more complex though.)

I agree with DD.

Well, I have 5 planets in fire signs, 1 in air sign, 2 in water sign and 2 in earth signs, which forms a grand trine with my Virgo AC.

Virgo Sun is fine for me, but I feel that I won't really get along with anyone who has strong Virgo influence (like being too critical and perfectionist). And I don't think that Virgo Moon or Mercury would do for me.. coz they would drive me crazy lol (although I have some admiration for Virgo Mercury, but for romance? my Aries Moon/Mercury wouldn't handle the "logic" marathon when we argue with each other lol). But well, guess that I can get along with Virgo Mars (bf has that too), probably coz of my Taurus Mars.

I meet love & joy in the similarities we share.
A mutual feeling which I never expected to find again in my life.
I enjoy it soo much when I see myself in him, although I always thought I hated it to see too much Leo-ness in a partner.
But, well.... I never got it better!

My Leo-sun (12th) is right on his ascendant (within 1,5*)

(He's Pisces-Sun, I love this combi)

Uranus (ruler of his 7th and 8th) is the only planet that makes an aspect (exact square) to his asc/desc axis in his chart. So, also to my Sun.
I still haven't seen that problem arise...
